Rejected Luna: Untamed Desire Of The Lycan Alpha
Chapter 312: Alibi
h4Chapter 312: Alibi/h4
Killian made his way through the clean, marble-floored corridors. Upon reaching the conference room, he walked right past the oak doors, as they were already pushed open by the guards standing on either side of the doors. Inside the conference room, other than the head of the council, there were seven other alphas sitting inside, including Dominic and Remy. while on the other side, the alphas from the small territories, with no possible significance, were sitting.
As he stepped inside, he could see that Remy’s expression was not looking good. He seemed like he was on the verge of losing control, which was not surprising as he had lost the anchor to his soul. Killian, however, only nced at the man before walking past the rest of the people and sitting next to Dominic. There was no other choice for the man was in an alliance with him.
Elder Norman was still speaking. With his hand banging on the surface of the table, he continued speaking in a strained voice, "If someone can kill the mate of alpha Remy, then tell me how are we going to live without looking over our shoulders? We all have mates and children or people we care for. I demand that this time around, those who were responsible for killing Alpha Remy’s mate should be given a severe punishment such that anyone would think twice before making another move like this."
"You are forgetting that we are not here to discuss the safety of the alphas and the territories, Norman. We are here to discuss and investigate the ins and outs of this murder. Like what kind of grudge a person might have against Alpha Remy to kill his mate?" said another man, with a frown on his face.
"More importantly, why did his mate go to that abandoned territory for no reason?" used another woman. The female alpha narrowed her eyes and nced at the alpha, who looked a bit shaken up, and when others turned to look at her, she threw her hands up in the air and stated, "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Do you think that I am in the wrong? But we have to consider every aspect, right? So what made that woman head to the abandoned territory without letting even her mate know about it? Unless there was something more happening than we can see at the moment?"
"My mate is dead!" Alpha Remy stood up and turned to look at the female alpha. "I demand that you treat her with some respect, Rachel."
Rachel crossed her arms and snorted. "There is no point in yelling at me, Alpha Remy. I am just asking a casual question. It’s not like your mate was kidnapped and taken away from the pack; she left on her own. This further intensifies the suspicion of her as well. Don’t yell at me. It’s not like I killed her."
"Alpha Cross’s questions and suspicions are valid," said Elder Norman. "Your mate left your territory on her own, Alpha Remy. There had been some reason for her to drive all the way to the abandoned territory. Right?"
"I asked her driver; he told me that L stepped out just for a moment. She told him that she was feeling a bit nauseous and just wanted to step out for a moment. Don’t tell me that it is a crime?" Alpha Remy asked with tears in his eyes. "I want to question the criminals who killed my mate. I want to ask why they even did such a thing. What kind of grudge did they have against me for them to do such a thing?"
"But why did she even go there –"
"Did you even get an answer from these women who were captured?" Dominic asked, reaching his patience when he saw them going back and forth. "If we have some lead, then we don’t have to think about our next course of action. I don’t believe that the murder was nned by the two women alone. How could they be so foolish as to get caught if they were the ones behind it?"
"How can it not be possible?"
"How can it be possible?" Killian spoke up. He turned to look at the man who was questioning Dominic and stated in a cold yet firm voice, "Like Alpha Cherith said, those two women were way too sloppy. In fact, I wonder how those two even killed L? Did anyone even see them kill that woman, or were they just dragged down?"
Elder Norman straightened up in his seat and questioned, "Are you suspecting that we didn’t investigate the situation? I heard from the guards who captured those women; they saw those two women killing L. They stabbed her with their ws—"
"But I just read the documents, and it states that L’s wounds were due to internal bleeding." Killian picked up the document in front of him and waved it in front of Alpha Norman. When the man red at him, Killian smiled at the man and leaned back on the chair. He winked at the man and said to him calmly, "There is no need to look at me with so much love, Elder Norman. I am just being a bit more careful; after all, we don’t want to punish someone who has not done anything wrong just because we want to show that the council is doing something?"
Upon hearing his words, many of the elders shifted in their seats ufortably.
iWhat foolish humans. /iHis beast growled within his head, annoyed at the ipetence and their love for positions.
"I made a mistake, as I didn’t read the reports and listened to the words of the guards," corrected Elder Norman. He then turned to look at Seth and continued, "We already have a suspect, and as long as we give them a good enough shock, they will confess what their intentions were behind this murder. I am sure of it."
"I hope that they are indeed the ones who killed L," said Dominic. "It will not reflect well if those two turned out to be innocent. We already have enough mess to clear up with everything that is going on."
"Or maybe better, all the members of the council present an alibi of what they were doing that day."
