CHAPTER 1684: 1684. YOU ARE BEING TOO CONTROLLING.

She looked coldly at Leo Hall’s increasingly dark face and mocked:

"In this world, there are people who live tougher lives than you, but their hearts remain positive and kind, full of sunshine. Yet, you live in the gutter and that’s not enough for you; you try to drag others down too. Leo Hall, this is why your parents only see your brother’s abilities and always look down on you."

"If you’re willing to live in the dark gutter, then on what basis do you resent others for not pulling you up?"

Leo Hall was dumbfounded by Elly Campbell’s words. He had initially planned to rebut a few sentences and threw in some sarcasm, but he couldn’t manage to utter a single word.

Moments later, he stood up from his seat, looked down at Elly Campbell, who was sitting in the chair with a face full of anger, and said:

"You’ve got too much on your plate. If you want Helen Melendy to stand on her own two feet again, then you’d better stay by my side obediently. Whatever I tell you to do, you do it!"

With that, he walked out of the café in a bit of a huff, pausing when he reached the door.

He walked over to the bar, took a pen, then picked up a tissue from the tissue box beside him, scribbled an address on it, crumpled it into a ball, and tossed it towards the back of Elly Campbell’s head.

When Elly Campbell turned around, she saw him making a smug expression, leaving with the words "come find me at the address above."

Elly Campbell lowered her head and picked up the crumpled tissue, glancing at it, and saw it was densely covered with an address.

Looking at the address on the tissue, Elly Campbell recognized that the place was about two bus rides away from where she was currently sitting — an abandoned factory in the Eastern District.

Since there were no people living there, the government was in no rush to develop that area.

Thinking back to the time when Leo Hall took her to his lab, it was roughly about a two-hour journey too. Could the address Leo Hall gave be his lab?

Isn’t he afraid that she might expose this address and directly find someone to ruin that place?

Thinking again, Elly Campbell smiled sarcastically.

Why would Leo Hall worry? As long as he doesn’t die, he can continue on.

And she, what evidence does she have to prove he’s done anything illegal?

That’s exactly why he so unabashedly sat across from her, saying all the things he did with such unrestrained arrogance.

"How could Elly Campbell be associated with Leo Hall?"

In the car flow outside the café, Harry Hall watched the two people who had just sat face to face, seeming to converse happily. More precisely, it was Leo Hall who was quite pleased, while Elly Campbell kept a firm expression.

These two people who didn’t have much interaction, why did they suddenly end up together?

Harry Hall furrowed his brows. As the red light ahead turned on, he put all his thoughts away and drove off.

After returning home, he summoned someone to investigate Elly Campbell and Leo Hall’s affair and found that the two had privately met quite a few times.

From the investigation results, he found that shortly after the pneumonia virus outbreak, Leo Hall and Elly Campbell met.

In the afternoon following their meeting, the medical bureau received a tip from Elly Campbell’s cousin, Arthur Clark, saying that the virus attack could potentially target a specific genomic group.

"How could it be so coincidental?"

Holding the investigation results in his hand, Harry Hall furrowed his brow and whispered.

Despite thinking that Elly Campbell and Leo Hall’s meeting was peculiar, he had no intention of associating the development of a special drug for this pneumonia virus with Leo Hall.
