Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person
Chapter 32: She No Longer Cares About This Man
CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32: SHE NO LONGER CARES ABOUT THIS MAN
Jordan Hawthorne, having been defied repeatedly, was also angry, and his whole being exuded a chilling, oppressive aura.
Sabrina ignored it, took Zara’s hand, and was about to leave.
Jordan, unable to contain his fury, blocked her again and scolded harshly, "Sabrina, is this how you take care of Zara? You won’t let her see a psychologist, don’t follow the doctor’s advice, and won’t let her interact with kids her age, and you’re always arguing with me! As a mother, don’t you think you’re extremely negligent? You’re becoming more and more incomprehensible!"
Sabrina looked at him coolly, finding his words genuinely laughable.
When had he ever truly understood her?
Since their marriage, she had been the one who proactively cared for and understood him.
From major needs like work, health, and mood swings, to minor everyday details like food, clothing, and means, she catered to them all meticulously.
And him?
He never offered any care, and on rare occasions when the old lady asked him to, he did it perfunctorily.
Back then, she could still fool herself, thinking Jordan was just like that, always too consumed by work.
But after Brooke Sinclairs returned, she realized she had been wrong.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t; he simply didn’t want to.
His care, patience, and gentleness were reserved for someone else!
The only person he wanted to understand was Brooke!
Sabrina’s eyes were sore, and her throat felt choked with emotion.
After a while, she found her voice again and said, distantly and coldly, "I... don’t need you to understand me!"
Things that were stingily given from the start, she no longer cared for!
Perhaps it was the strong sense of finality in her tone, or her evident resistance and rejection, that inexplicably irked Jordan.
His gaze darkened, and he stepped closer, asking coldly, "Then who do you want to understand you? Josee Sheffield? Sabrina, how did you get involved with him behind my back?
You know that The Sheffield Group and Hawthorne Group are competitors, yet you deliberately switched to them... Is it because of some shady dealings with Josee or to get back at me by switching sides?"
Sabrina was taken aback by how he turned the tables on her, instantly finding it utterly absurd.
In her extreme anger, she laughed, "I lost my job and applied at The Sheffield Group, is there a problem with that? Have you forgotten that my original expertise was in pharmaceutical research, not the AI medical system? Is it wrong for me to seek a living?
As for how I got involved with Josee Sheffield... what does that have to do with you? Do I need to explain it to you in detail?"
Jordan gritted his teeth, speaking coldly, "You don’t need to? Don’t forget your current identity! You’re a married woman!"
Sabrina seemed to hear the biggest joke ever, "Oh, so you do remember you’re still married, that you’re a husband!"
Jordan was momentarily speechless, his face darkening, "Don’t drag me into this... Sabrina, I’m warning you, you’d better cancel your collaboration with The Sheffield Group immediately!"
"Why should I listen to you?"
Sabrina coldly retorted.
He himself was entangled with his first love under the pretense of work, inseparable from her, yet he wouldn’t let her collaborate with her friends.
This double standard is truly eye-opening!
"Jordan, since you’ve already expelled me from the Hawthorne Group, who I collaborate with and where I work is my freedom now, what right do you have to control it?"
After saying this, Sabrina seemed unwilling to waste more words with him, holding Zara as she bypassed him and walked towards the exit of the amusement park.
Jordan’s face was extremely gloomy, but he didn’t stop her.
In his view, Sabrina was too arrogant for her own good.
She was clearly lacking in ability, yet had to go mess around at The Sheffield Group.
Not to mention, she had been away from her original profession for four years, how could The Sheffield Group possibly value her?
It seems Brooke was right; there might indeed be a special reason she was hired.
Jordan’s eyes turned cold, and he said ruthlessly behind her, "Sabrina, I’m warning you, you’d better not leak any of Hawthorne Group’s business secrets, or else the consequences will be unbearable for you!"
Sabrina didn’t look back, but her heart was filled with bleakness and discomfort.
The so-called business secrets he spoke of were all her hard-earned achievements.
She had worked diligently and conscientiously, never doing anything against her professional ethics.
But in the end, he viewed her as if she were a thief...
From start to finish, Jordan had not a shred of trust in her!
...
After Sabrina left, Jordan’s anger had not yet subsided, so he missed the smug look in Sonny’s eyes behind him.
Having sabotaged Uncle Hawthorne’s opportunity to get along with that woman again, his mom would definitely reward him when he got back.
And when playing today, he had intentionally tripped that fool... If mom found out, she might even reward him with ice cream!
Thinking of this, Sonny couldn’t help but want to giggle.
But he held it back, still pretending to be well-behaved, and came over to tug on Jordan Hawthorne’s clothes.
"Uncle, please don’t be angry, okay? If you get upset, it won’t be good for your health! What happened just now was all my fault... It was I who made Auntie Sabrina unhappy. I shouldn’t have come to play with Zara."
Upon hearing this, Jordan’s anger dissipated significantly, "It’s not Sonny’s fault!"
"But why doesn’t Auntie Sabrina like me? Am I really... so annoying?"
Saying this, Sonny looked dejectedly down, pitifully saying, "I really like Zara, and I want to get along well with her, take care of her, and protect her..."
Jordan’s heart softened, and he quickly raised his hand to rub the little guy’s head, comforting him, "Uncle knows, Sonny did a great job today, always playing with Zara, helping her overcome psychological challenges! You’re a good kid, very likable. Sabrina Hayes’ rejection of you is her problem, not yours!"
"Really?"
Sonny asked with feigned innocence.
Jordan nodded, "Of course, at least I really like Sonny!"
With that, he bent down to pick up the little guy from the ground, soothingly saying, "Let’s not talk about her anymore. What else do you want to play? Uncle will join you. When your mom arrives later, we’ll leave together."
"Yay, Uncle is the best!"
Sonny instantly cheered up, hugging Jordan’s neck affectionately, "I want to ride the carousel."
Jordan agreed happily, "Sure, I’ll take you to ride the carousel!"
...
After Sabrina took Zara away from the amusement park, they returned to the car.
After settling the little child into the children’s seat, she immediately found some wet wipes to clean the dirt off her.
Zara sat quietly, letting Mommy wipe her, but her eyes were still fixed in the direction of the amusement park, reluctant to look away.
That afternoon, they played almost entirely the rides that Sonny liked, and Zara didn’t get to play on the ones she liked.
Sabrina didn’t know this, but she could see the longing in her daughter’s eyes.
After finishing wiping, she immediately ruffled her daughter’s hair and said, "Darling, how about we ask your godmother to join us for another trip to a different amusement park?"
As soon as Zara heard this, her eyes lit up, filled with anticipation.
Sabrina, unable to resist doting on her, lightly pinched her little face while calling her best friend on the phone.
Tessa Hughes agreed without a second thought!
Half an hour later, the two met at another amusement park.
Once inside, they accompanied the little child through all kinds of attractions suitable for her.
By the end of it, Zara’s little face was glowing with happiness.
Tessa watched the little child throughout, feeling surprised, "Darling Zara has changed so much, right? She used to be always quiet, almost unresponsive in new environments, but today she was curiously observing around several times, and especially during the rides, her eyes were full of wonder... She’s clearly improved a lot, hasn’t she?"
"Yes."
Sabrina nodded, not denying it.
What she often does is observe Zara’s condition.
She is most aware of the little child’s changes.
Indeed, there’s progress!
Tessa felt genuinely happy for Zara, and couldn’t help but suggest, "This is a good sign. I think you could consider sending her to a special school. Most of the teachers there have degrees in psychology and are compassionate, providing care for the kids and guiding them well!"
Sabrina pondered.
This is indeed something to consider.
That mysterious psychologist was temporarily untraceable, and she could only develop drugs to treat physical diseases, she was not an expert in psychology.
If she misguided, it might delay Zara’s recovery.
Sending her to a special school would be better.
She promptly asked Tessa, "Do you know if there’s any school like that in Veridia?"
Tessa nodded, "I actually do know. I came across one... There’s a school called ’Starlight Academy,’ which is specifically aimed at young psychological patients! The leading founder is the international movie star, Faye Rhodes, whose son is also an autism patient!"
This school’s conditions are excellent. The teachers are selected through rigorous screening and hired at high costs, with hardly any drawbacks except that the fees are a bit high!"
Sabrina didn’t mind that, "If it can help Zara get better, I’m willing to spend any amount! When I have time, I’ll go check out the environment!"
Tessa said, "Alright, I’ll make time to go with you! When I get back, I’ll ask around to see if it really is as good as the rumors say!"
Sabrina had no objections, her heart warming slightly, saying, "It seems Zara didn’t acknowledge you as a godmother in vain."
Tessa raised her chin, saying, "Of course!"
