Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person
Chapter 74: Mr. Fitzgerald, Do You Have a Girlfriend?
CHAPTER 74: CHAPTER 74: MR. FITZGERALD, DO YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?
It was only a few minutes.
Zara was already able to hold her chopsticks steadily and successfully eat her food.
The little one was full of accomplishment, happily saying to Jasper Fitzgerald, "Thank you, Uncle~"
Jasper Fitzgerald lightly tapped her nose and replied, "You’re welcome."
Sabrina, watching beside them, suddenly realized that she had been negligent as a mother.
How could she have left such matters to Mr. Fitzgerald?
However, she also noticed that he always intended to guide Zara to do things she was capable of.
He treated the little one completely like a normal person.
He did not indulge her just because she is a child with autism.
In this respect, Sabrina admitted she did not do well enough.
When taking care of her daughter, she would habitually feel sorry for her, fearing she might get hurt or something unexpected might happen.
Therefore, for anything, she would instinctively prepare it all in advance for her.
This, in turn, stifled Zara’s ability to explore.
And as she guessed, when Jasper Fitzgerald continued to pick dishes for Zara, he would consciously or unconsciously guide her.
By the end of the meal, the little one had already learned to peel shrimp shells.
Though she didn’t peel them perfectly, some harder shells still remained, but it was a tremendous leap for the little girl.
Jasper Fitzgerald generously praised, "Very well done! Next time when you eat at home, you can peel them yourself too, but don’t forget to protect your small hands from getting cut by the shells."
Zara nodded her little head, her face full of joy.
Sabrina felt a mix of sourness and gratitude in her heart, "Thank you, Mr. Fitzgerald."
Jasper Fitzgerald glanced at her, slightly raising his eyebrows, "Did you notice?"
Sabrina nodded.
How could she not notice?
He always affirmed and encouraged Zara, guiding her almost all the time.
Jasper Fitzgerald briefly explained, "In Zara’s state, intense psychological treatment isn’t suitable. She needs to be gently and silently guided to stimulate her rich inner emotions, and as it turns out, the effect is quite good."
Sabrina nodded heavily.
It’s more than just good, isn’t it?
The emotional feedback from the little one in one day surpassed what had accumulated over the past year!
When lunch ended, Sabrina almost didn’t want to part with Jasper Fitzgerald.
She wished Zara could spend more time with him.
This way, her recovery might be faster!
Just as she was thinking this, the phone in her bag rang.
She gave Jasper Fitzgerald an apologetic look, answered it, and then heard Bianca White’s urgent voice, "Dr. Nash, something’s wrong! My Eleanor’s condition has flared up again; her fever won’t go down, and she can’t breathe, looking like she’s about to suffocate... What should I do..."
Sabrina’s expression changed, and she immediately reassured, "Don’t worry, I’ll be there right away!"
After hanging up the phone, she looked at Jasper Fitzgerald, intending to explain the situation.
Unexpectedly, Jasper Fitzgerald stood up first and said, "I’ll take you!"
Bianca White’s voice just now had been penetrating, and he had also heard it.
Sabrina nodded, took her bag, and Jasper Fitzgerald naturally picked up Zara.
The two hurriedly left the restaurant and quickly headed to The Quinlan Family.
As soon as they entered the door, Bianca White eagerly rushed over, "Dr. Nash, you must save our Eleanor..."
Her eyes were very red, obviously having cried, and behind her was her husband, Sean Quinlan, who was equally worried.
"Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to save her. Please don’t panic, let me go see how she is."
Sabrina didn’t delay and quickly went into the room.
Jasper Fitzgerald did not follow.
After all, it was a young girl’s boudoir; entering rashly was inappropriate!
Mr. and Mrs. Quinlan noticed him then.
Surprised that he was there, they quickly greeted him, "Jasper, you’re here too?"
"Mm, I happened to be having lunch with Dr. Nash and came along to check."
Though Jasper Fitzgerald’s attitude was gentle, the inherent coolness in his low voice created a subtle sense of distance.
Even though the Quinlan couple were elders, speaking with him, they unconsciously carried a tone of respect, "Eleanor’s matter has really troubled you, especially for introducing Dr. Nash... Her treatment for Eleanor has been very effective!"
Jasper Fitzgerald shook his head, calmly saying, "Uncle, Aunt, you’re too polite. Taking care of Eleanor is something I should do. I promised Finn Quinlan to look after his family, and nominally, I am somewhat Eleanor’s brother."
The couple were slightly stunned, unable to linger on the sentiment in his mention of ’Finn Quinlan,’ as their attention was temporarily drawn back to their daughter.
They were simply too worried!
Fortunately, Sabrina’s medical skills were excellent.
In less than an hour, Eleanor Quinlan’s high fever subsided, and she regained her consciousness.
As Sabrina sat by the bed gathering her things, she couldn’t help but ask, "Your condition was stable these past few days. Why did it flare up? Can you tell me? Did you do something behind my back?"
There was a clear hint of guilt in Eleanor Quinlan’s eyes.
Yet, facing the intense look from Sabrina, she still confessed honestly, "Today, I went out to meet my boyfriend and just held his hand. I thought it wouldn’t matter, but who knew..."
Her tone carried a bit of grievance, her eyes reddening, as she asked, "Sabrina, am I never going to get better, unable to be with my boyfriend?"
Sabrina felt somewhat exasperated.
She found it most frustrating when patients disregarded medical advice during treatment.
To make her remember the lesson, she spoke in a sterner tone, "I told you that your treatment requires a month for full recovery. Why didn’t you listen and maintain a distance for now?
"Once you’re completely recovered, you can interact however you’d like. Why can’t you just hold on for a bit? Is this how you intend to show improvement?"
Eleanor Quinlan shrank back a little, feeling even more wronged.
But her attitude in admitting fault was commendable, "I’m sorry, Sabrina. I realize I was wrong. Don’t be mad. I won’t dare do it again, nor will I sneak out anymore!"
Sabrina Hayes still simmered with anger but couldn’t truly unleash it on her.
Young love is always passionate and impulsive, with little self-control.
But since it had delayed treatment, Sabrina couldn’t help but give her a talking-to.
Eleanor listened to the advice obediently.
Just then, Jasper Fitzgerald and Mr. and Mrs. Quinlan stepped in.
Upon entering, the man’s slightly authoritative deep voice resonated, "Since you’ve agreed, you ought to ensure it, or you’ll face the consequences!"
Seeing him, Eleanor was overjoyed, nearly jumping off the bed, "Jasper, you’re here too?"
Jasper Fitzgerald nodded, signaling her imperatively, "Lie back. Want to collapse again?"
Eleanor immediately retreated, behaving more docilely, "I don’t want to."
Jasper didn’t indulge her, but instead warned, "Follow the doctor’s orders properly. If there’s a next time, your little boyfriend might need a lesson."
Eleanor became even more timid, not daring to have any thought.
Sabrina was a little surprised.
Like a mouse encountering a cat!
Later, once Eleanor seemed alright, Sabrina and Jasper took their leave.
On their way back, Sabrina curiously asked, "Mr. Fitzgerald, are you related to the Quinlan family?"
Jasper shook his head, "No, I share a comradeship with Eleanor’s brother, Finn Quinlan. A few years ago, he sacrificed himself while on a mission overseas. Before dying, he entrusted me with looking after his parents and sister."
Their bond was life and death, so he treated Eleanor like a sister.
When it was confirmed her condition wasn’t psychological, Jasper assisted in consulting many doctors.
But none of them worked, not even identifying the cause.
Until he heard about Sabrina Hayes’s medical skills at the military compound and thought of asking for her help.
Sabrina nodded in understanding, thinking it quite good.
Mr. Fitzgerald assisted in treating Zara.
She helped in treating Eleanor.
In this way, it’s barely evened out.
Of course, once Zara fully recovers, she’ll still pay for the psychological therapy, not taking advantage!
While chatting casually, they arrived outside Sabrina Hayes’s residential area.
All this time, from the Quinlan house, Zara was held by Jasper Fitzgerald.
Now, nestled in his arms, she had fallen promptly asleep, her tiny hands clutching his suit.
The fabric of the well-fitted suit became slightly creased.
Sabrina felt a bit apologetic and quickly leaned forward to retrieve her little one.
Zara seemed aware, let out a tiny hum, and clung even tighter.
Sabrina found it amusing and tried to pry open her small hand.
In the process, she inevitably touched the other party lightly.
Even though there was fabric between them, Sabrina still felt it inappropriate and hurriedly withdrew her hand.
Only then did she realize how close they were. The pleasant cool fragrance was right under her nose, wafting into her senses.
At a loss on how to proceed, she didn’t want to offend the person in front of her.
Jasper, noting her hesitation, calmly said, "Let me handle it..."
Then, he gently pried Zara’s fingers away.
The little one finally let go, returning to her mother’s embrace.
After securing Zara, Sabrina thanked Jasper once more and then bid him farewell as she exited the car.
The luxurious Bentley car soon vanished in the evening sunlight.
After watching the car leave, Sabrina turned to head back with Zara, only to see Tessa Hughes sneakily peeking around.
"What are you up to?"
Sabrina amusingly asked as she looked at her.
Tessa walked over with a bag slung over her shoulder, face full of gossip, "Who was in that car? I initially thought it was Josee Sheffield, but the car didn’t seem to be his... I saw, Zara was in his arms, and with that build, wow, long legs!"
Sabrina knocked her on the head and said, "Stop your infatuation! That was the psychologist we’ve been searching for!"
"Oh? The mysterious expert? How did you come across him? Weren’t you two unable to find him before?"
Tessa thrilled and curious.
Back then, they had gone all out to dig up his information.
In the end, if it weren’t for Josee’s introduction to Elder Yates, they’d probably still be searching in vain.
Now that they’ve met, Zara’s recovery is surely just around the corner!
Sabrina hesitated for a few seconds, but didn’t hide anything, recounting the day’s incident at the kindergarten, including Mr. Fitzgerald coming to the rescue at the end.
After hearing this, Tessa was furious, inevitably giving Jordan Hawthorne a piece of her mind.
"That man is something else, isn’t he? Ignoring his own daughter’s school event and attending a parent meeting for his mistress’s son instead. What’s wrong with him?"
Sabrina didn’t want to dwell on him, "Let it go, it’s all in the past... no need to talk about it!"
"Right, let’s not, bad luck!"
Tessa unladylike spat the words, then turned to express gratitude, "Mr. Quinlan and Mr. Fitzgerald are really good people! Thanks to them, our darling Zara’s performance was a success!
By the way, tell me, is Mr. Fitzgerald handsome? That posture earlier, so noble, he must look stunning, right? How old is he? Does he have a partner?"
