CHAPTER 58: A COMMOTION

"Then can I ask you something?" He asked and she nodded as she sniffled back her tears. "Are you behind the state Alisha is in now?"

Katherine choked on her saliva, tears welling in her eyes even before she could stop herself.

"What?"

Nathan’s face darkened. "Are you the one behind the state Alisha is in now?" He repeated, each word slow and firm.

He’d seen Alisha and Dante in the lobby while walking in. She looked like she’d been beaten up by someone and was barely managing to hold up.

He wondered who it could be until his mind drifted off to Katherine.

Alisha had informed her that in a week, she would be attacked by Katherine as her form of revenge for uploading her pictures while being intimate with a strange man.

He thought she was bluffing. He believed Katherine wasn’t that evil. She had her own shortcomings, but he didn’t think Katherine would be evil enough to have someone do such a thing to Alisha.

He couldn’t speak with her immediately because Dante was right beside her.

He made a mental note to question Katherine and looking at her now, he suspected she was behind everything.

She shook her head in denial anyways.

"I would never do such a thing to Alisha. I know that we’ve not been the best of friends, but I wouldn’t ever intentionally put her life in danger," she cried, her palms clasped together as she pleaded.

She could already feel a headache coming in.

This was supposed to be the day of celebration for her. The day she would forget about Alisha being a problem to her. But she was alive, she’d uploaded a video of her on the internet, and she might have already told Dante that she was the one behind the stage she was in.

Everything was going wrong and it made her feel enraged. To think she would lose everything she’d fought hard for just because of a rookie she couldn’t get rid of.

"You’re really the most despicable person I’ve met, Katherine," Nathan said, a look of disappointment clouded on his face. "I never imagined you could be this wicked."

She shook her head as she watched him leave and bang the door closed right behind him.

Out of rage, she scattered everything that was in sight, throwing it across the wall.

Alisha had ruined everything once again, and this time, her marriage could be in danger.

"Alisha, get well soon. You don’t deserve any of these. Katherine will get what’s coming for her."

"I’m sure Katherine is behind what happened to Alisha. She’s her only enemy after all. To think she would get Alisha beaten up after failing to break her ankle during Nix photoshoot. What’s going on in Veila and why hasn’t Megan addressed the situation yet?"

"Katherine is a bully? She’s a cheater, a slut, and a big-time bully. Veila needs to come out and address this matter else I’ll think they’re also working with Katherine to do this to her."

"Is Katherine probably jealous that Alisha is married to Dante? Maybe, she once had a crush on him before they got married. Just saying."

Alisha read through the comments on her phone, grinning from ear to ear.

A few people had taken pictures of her from the restaurant and uploaded them, now the netizens were aware of the condition she was in.

Katherine’s fans were trying to defend their idol, but they had no chance because the coincidence was so easily dismissed. Alisha looked heavily beaten up just a few days after Nix’s photoshoot—especially after Maxine had released the video of Katherine intentionally pushing Alisha off the stage.

"You like what you see?" Dante asked, looking over her shoulder to read the comments.

She nodded, her smile growing wider.

They were in the car, heading back to Veila as the commotion had gotten too big for them to peacefully shoot the perfume commercial anymore.

The staff had informed them to get ready to head back to Veila. Now, Alisha regretted not waiting for them to completely shoot the commercial and tick it off her bucket list.

Dante insisted that Alisha go with him instead of leaving with the other girls in the van, especially when he knew Katherine would be there. Thankfully, she didn’t resist.

"At this rate, Katherine is going to be cancelled soon," she muttered. "It feels almost too easy," she giggled and Dante was stunned to hear her laugh as she looked at her phone’s screen.

This was the first time he had heard her laugh, all because Katherine’s reputation was ruined.

’Maybe, I should punish that woman more if I want to hear her laugh,’ he thought to himself.

They arrived at Veila faster than they thought they would, but everywhere was so jammed with cars, people with cameras and posters, yelling.

"What’s going on?"

Maxine who’d been quiet the entire time wound down the window to see properly. "I think it’s a protest."

Alisha nearly choked on her saliva.

Alisha didn’t think they would go to this just for her. At the end of the day, she was still a rookie with little to no popularity.

They couldn’t park right there so they had to go a few distances away as Maxine helped Alisha out of the car.

Although she was bandaged up and her injury was cleaned, the pain was still unbearable.

As soon as the media reporters who came along for some juicy gossip saw her, they clicked picture after picture, making sure to get every angle right.

"Katherine needs to apologize to Alisha!!"

"Katherine should apologize to Alisha!!"

"Veila say something!!"

Alisha heard the people roar with rage.

Fortunately, they couldn’t come to her for questioning when they saw Dante just right behind her.

This was going bigger than she thought it would, but who was she to not enjoy the moment?

Netizens were already enraged just because Katherine bullied Alisha—what if they found out that Katherine was behind Eva’s death? What would they do to her then?
