CHAPTER 65: CELESTE

She cleaned off her tears. This was her last trump card and she was going to use it well. "I’m pregnant."

Nathan stared at her, stunned by her words. He sized her up, his eyes lingering on her flat stomach as if he was expecting it to show a baby bump already.

"You’re not pregnant," he stated.

Katherine scoffed as she rummaged through her bag, searching for something. Once she found it, she gave it to Nathan.

"That’s the pregnancy test. I’m one month pregnant," she said.

She’d been feeling lightheaded the past week and decided to go take a test, only to find out she was pregnant.

She felt lucky because she could use the baby to stay married to Nathan. But whoever the father was, she wasn’t sure. But she wasn’t going to tell him that.

Nathan still couldn’t believe his eyes.

Katherine was pregnant?

"Nathan read the words written on the paper, his fingers clenching on it. When he was done, he threw it away.

"How can I be sure that you’re pregnant with my child and not your lover’s?" He questioned.

This news was big to him. After what had happened, he wasn’t sure he could trust Katherine ever again, and now she wanted him to believe she was pregnant with his child.

"I’ve told you several times, I never cheated on you," she said. "But you have to help me now that you know I’m pregnant."

Nathan immediately realized what she was intending to do.

She wanted to blackmail him.

"If you don’t help me, I’m going to get an abortion," she threatened. She knew how important an heir was for Nathan and his family.

He was the only son after all and he needed to produce an heir. This was one of the reasons he decided to go back to Katherine even after getting married to Eva. She already had several miscarriages in the past, unable to give him a child.

However, now that Katherine is pregnant, is the child his?

Katherine waited for a reply but he didn’t give her any.

With a heavy heart, she turned to leave.

Right when she was about to walk out the door, Nathan stopped her.

"Don’t get an abortion," he said. Katherine had a smile on her lips which he didn’t see because her back was still facing him. With a huff, he paled his face in frustration. "I’ll help you get more brand deals and contact my sister to sign you to her entertainment company, and you don’t get an abortion, but once the baby is born, I’m getting a DNA test."

This was a gamble for Nathan.

This was finally an opportunity for him to become a father, something he’d always wanted which Eva couldn’t give to him. Katherine was finally pregnant, and if only the situation weren’t as it was currently, then he would have been over the moon and showering her with kisses.

And now he had to pretend the child was his while he secretly suspected the child belonged to her lover.

Katherine turned to look at him, a small smile lingering on her face.

She wasn’t certain the child belonged to him, but if he wanted to still have a DNA test after she gave birth, she didn’t have a problem with it.

Nathan went ahead and instructed his secretaries to put his meetings on hold.

The Celestique entertainment company wasn’t in the top five best modeling companies but it was ranking in the top ten.

To Katherine, it felt like she was stepping down from her throne.

Nathan and Katherine left for Celestique entertainment company, while Katherine buried her face in her phone, reading comments after comments.

Veila had officially posted the contract termination with Katherine Cross.

"Finally, that woman is gone. I can’t believe it took them this long to get rid of her."

"I wonder what she’s going to do now, sign with another company and bully her juniors? I wish I’d seen her and thrown a stone on her face on that day."

"Wait... now that Katherine is no longer signed with Veila, who do you guys think is going to be the new face of Veila?"

Katherine frowned at that comment. She’d been the face of Veila, and at that moment, her posters were probably being taken down.

"You should stop reading hate comments. You’re only going to stress yourself and the baby," Nathan said, glancing at her.

Katherine scowled at him. His words of comfort was what she wanted to hear at that moment.

She’d lost everything all because of one person and he didn’t lose anything at all.

Not only that, but she became pregnant. So much was happening all at once.

She ignored him as he parked the car.

They arrived at Celestique Entertainment. The building was huge and bustling with employees while ads from recent deals could be heard in the background.

Everyone was watching Nathan and Katherine take the elevator to the top floor.

Nathan knocked on the door, and once they got the confirmation to go inside, he pushed it open.

"Nathan," Celeste, Nathan’s younger sister, greeted with a smile mixed with shock on her face. She wasn’t expecting him to come see her and he didn’t say anything.

However, once she saw Katherine, her smile dropped.

"What’s she doing here?" She demanded.

Katherine narrowed her eyes at Celeste. She was a woman her age and she already owned an entertainment company, all because her father was wealthy.

"I need to tell you something, Celeste," said Nathan.

Nathan started speaking, reiterating the events that had been happening while Katherine silently listened.

"I know this request came out on a short notice, but I need you to sign Katherine to your agency," Nathan requested.

Celeste stared at him for the longest time possible, before glancing at Katherine.

Katherine didn’t think she needed to say anything, so she didn’t.

Celeste scoffed when she was done analyzing what Nathan had just told her to do.

"This woman cheated on you, she has such a big scandal and you’re asking me to sign her with my company?" She asked. She took a deep breath and shook her head. "No."
