Revenge Wears Red Lipstick
Chapter 95: Fun
CHAPTER 95: FUN
Alisha was at the hideout, unsure of what to do for that day as she watched Ryan and her brothers suit up for their mission.
They’ve gotten word that there was another weapons shipment and needed to confiscate it as soon as possible.
Unfortunately for Alisha, they’d refused for her to come along using her health as an excuse.
She could feel that she’d completely recovered, but no matter how much she budged, they wouldn’t let her go.
"You guys are serious with this," she said, baffled that they were serious.
Ryan looked up at her while installing his spare daggers on his waist just in case.
"You’re really not letting me come along," she said.
Jace and Adrian sighed while Ryan looked at her with a smile.
"You went with us to rescue the hostages like a week ago, and then you caught a fever right after. You’re lucky that you told Dante you were spending a few days with your family so he didn’t know anything about that," he reminded.
Alisha felt a little bit embarrassed.
When they’d gone on several missions like rescuing the hostages who were used for human trafficking and sharing awareness in other cities about the drugs, she’d caught a fever.
It was like after she recovered from the incident a year ago, her immune system has begun to fail her.
She despised it but there was nothing she could do to let them go with her anyway.
"You can use Ryan’s computer to play a game or something," Jace teased.
Exasperated, she threw a slipper at him which he dodged easily while they laughed at her.
She cursed under her breath as they continued to get ready.
Sooner or later, everyone was ready, together with the armed men that would be accompanying them. Their vans were filled with their weapons.
"Take care of yourself, okay?" Adrian waved with a smile on his lips.
Alisha suddenly got that weird feeling that something was wrong and was going to happen.
"You’d better watch out for any trap," she said, dead serious.
They all nodded, got into the vans, and left.
Alisha watched them disappear right into the great before she went back in.
She took Ryan’s table and looked at his computer. Since he was a tech guy, she didn’t quite understand the things that appeared there, so she decided to do something else.
Since she returned, she’s been attacking mostly Katherine, but that didn’t mean that she’d forgotten Nathan.
Destroying Nathan would only take one tiny good effort and everything he had would be snatched away from him, or everything he thought he had never belonged to him in the first place.
Alisha opened the cameras to Nathan’s office.
She asked Ryan if he could hack into them and he did. Thankfully, Nathan wasn’t even aware that she was watching him getting his work done.
It was through this camera that she found out that Katherine was pregnant, and she was also aware that Nathan was searching for Eva.
Through the cameras, he looked like a decent person, like someone who wouldn’t even hurt a fly. But he’d hurt her several times.
She sighed, thinking of how she was going to reveal to the public Nathan’s secret.
Years ago, when she was still together with him, she’d overheard his mother speaking over the phone with someone in a hushed tone. And one thing she heard made her blood turn cold for a second.
Her grin stretched on her lips when a man whom she recognized to be the private investigator that Nathan had hired to search for Eva walked in.
"Do you have any news about her?" Nathan asked, an edge to his tone.
She didn’t know what he was searching for her for, but it was obvious that his patience was starting to run thin.
The investigator shook his head. "Not at all, sir. I told you that if we want to find this lady fast, we would have to contact her family and kindly ask for information about her," the investigator explained but Nathan wasn’t going to hear it.
"How can you call yourself an investigator when you can’t even find someone who went missing just a year ago?" He questioned, an edge to his tone.
"I’m sorry sir," the other man said with a sigh. "I’ve tried every possible thing to find her but it’s not getting me any more clues. With the absence of any lead, I’ll have to say that she’s probably dead." Nathan glared at the man. "That only explains—"
"Eva is not dead," he said with so much assurance. He pinched his head in frustration. "I guess I’ll have to go visit her family to ask about her well-being. Hopefully, they’ll answer me."
Nathan had made the decision not to ever go to the Montclair family but now, he had no other choice.
"You may leave," said Nathan.
The investigator didn’t waste any time and quickly bolted from there.
Since he was already frustrated, Alisha thought this would be the perfect time to make his blood pressure shoot up a little.
She drafted a simple message and sent it to his phone.
Nathan received the notification and quickly checked what it was before returning to work.
The message read, I know your secret. You’re not your father’s son.
Alisha’s grin stretched even more on her lips when she saw his reaction.
Thankfully, the high resolution from the CCTV made it possible to capture every possible reaction in 4k.
All the blood drained completely from Nathan’s face. He looked like he’d just seen a ghost.
Alisha received a text from Nathan, questioning who she was because she didn’t reply.
She watched as Nathan kept on glancing at his phone, waiting for a reply while her heart danced.
Her speculations were right. Nathan knew he wasn’t his father’s son and had just been enjoying the wealth that never belonged to him.
"This is going to be so much fun," she chuckled.
