CHAPTER 96: TOP MODEL AWARDS

It was finally the day of the Top Model Awards.

The days were approaching faster than Alisha thought they would. The elections were in less than a week too.

The hall was large, with shiny chandeliers hanging just right above them, emitting a golden color.

The hall was bustling with several influential people. Top models from all around the world. It was truly an award that would introduce both models from neighboring countries to get to know each other more.

Alisha’s hand was linked with Dante’s as they walked inside, all heads turning to look at them as if they were performing their own couple’s fashion show.

Alisha was a little flustered. To think she was nominated in less than six months, she couldn’t believe she was able to do it.

Yet, just as expected, netizens accused her of doing something behind closed doors that led to her being nominated.

"Do you feel alright?" Dante asked, his voice low yet warm to her skin. He looked down at her with a soft gaze that melted her heart.

She nodded, a smile on her lips. "I’m fine."

He stared at her for two more seconds, as if reassuring himself before he tore his gaze from her.

He’d been trying to control himself once she slipped into the red gown that hugged her perfect body. He noticed how the gentlemen stared at her like hawks, waiting for when she would slip out of his hold so they could devour her, but he wasn’t letting that happen.

Alisha was going to stay in close range with him no matter what happened tonight.

Some businessmen who managed to make it in tried to drag him away for a talk but he turned them all down.

Tonight was the night his wife would receive one of her biggest awards and he was going to be there when she did.

"If you need a jacket, just let me know okay?" Maxine said, tapping Alisha on her bare shoulders to get her attention.

Despite being extremely busy, Maxine didn’t want Alisha to come alone.

Alisha nodded. "I will."

A few brand owners have to snatch Alisha away for a while to speak to her while Dante watches from a close distance.

"So what father had been complaining about was true." Dante suddenly heard a voice say to him and just like the other times, he didn’t need to check to see who it was. Mylo stood in front of Dante’s face, blocking him from seeing Alisha. "Are you that deep in love that you don’t even want to look away from her just for a second and see your brother?"

Dante simply moved to the side, and when he saw Alisha, a smile on her lips, talking with the brand owners, safe and sound did his shoulders get a relief.

"What are you doing here?" He questioned. "The last time I checked, you are not a model, and you certainly are not a brand owner who can get an invitation."

Mylo scoffed. "You seemed to have forgotten that I’m also a De Rossi."

Dante finally acknowledged his brother by looking at him then looked away without saying anything.

Mylo was amused.

"To think that you’ll fall deeply in love with some woman. This is interesting."

Yet, Dante didn’t reply to any of his words.

"You should be careful though. Father is not pleased with this at all," he warned.

"Do I look like I care what that old man wants?" Dante questioned.

Mylo wore a serious look this time. "Rhea’s life is in your hands and the decisions you make are the only thing that can assure her safety," he reminded.

Dante was amused now.

Mylo, his little brother who was just a replica of his father, who only saw people as tools in achieving his goal, who didn’t even care about their little sister suddenly cares about her?

"Well, you’d better watch out," Mylo warned and turned to leave.

If Mylo was suddenly having a change of mind from out of nowhere, Dante couldn’t say. But he didn’t need someone to tell him to watch out, he was dealing with his father anyway. And he knew that man.

Dante watched as Alisha mingled with some people.

She looked happy, and he wanted to keep things that way.

He wanted to tell Alisha that he was involved with him, he wanted to be transparent with her and keep no secrets from her. But he wasn’t sure how things were going to end up after that.

She’d already seen him kill three people before, but what if he told her that number wasn’t close to the amount of people’s blood that still stained his hands?

Knowing his father, the old man would try to intervene and do something stupid. So he would need to tell her the truth sooner or later.

Dante frowned when he saw a familiar face walking towards her.

It was none other than Nathan Cross.

He watched as Nathan walked towards Alisha. She looked perplexed for a moment, about to excuse herself from leaving but Nathan held her back.

Nathan was stunned when he saw Alisha from far away. Her red dress stood out so perfectly, and her dazzling face was hard to ignore.

He may be looking for Eva, still married to Katherine, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t recognize a beautiful face when he saw one.

He went to her and tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. A smile had been on her face earlier, but once she recognized who she was looking at, her smile immediately faltered.

"Is there something I can help you with, Mr. Cross?" She asked politely, but he could catch the tone where she didn’t want to speak to him at all.

"You look very beautiful, Alisha—"

"Is there something I can help you with?" She cut him off. She didn’t have time for this.

Nathan was stunned for a second, before he parted his lips to speak. "I’d like to ask for your hand in dancing if you don’t mind."
