CHAPTER 99: END EVERYTHING

"You’re such a disgusting woman!" someone screamed from the crowd.

"You should burn in hell for ruining Mr. Fernandez’s marriage!" another voice shouted.

Katherine’s eyes darted around in disbelief. She couldn’t understand why so many people were so quick to side with that old man. Did they not see what was going on? Did they really think she was the villain here?

Her gaze shifted to Alisha. She stood gracefully, not even flinching under the chaos. Alisha tilted her head, lips curving into a pout that was filled with mockery. Katherine’s stomach twisted in rage.

Without sparing Katherine another glance, Alisha stepped off the stage with her award in hand, moving elegantly toward where her husband sat waiting for her.

The crowd, however, turned uglier toward Katherine. Insults rained down like stones, their voices rising louder and louder, cursing her, condemning her, tearing her apart. More security had to be called in as some people tried to push forward, hurling objects in her direction.

Nathan appeared just in time, pushing through the chaos. He reached her, shielding Katherine with his own body as he pulled her out of the venue.

"Congratulations on your award, my love," Dante murmured to Alisha, linking his hand with hers and pressing a kiss against it. The cameras clicked wildly, capturing the perfect picture of a supportive husband and his radiant wife.

The award ceremony continued as though nothing had happened, though a tension lingered in the air. The other winners were announced, applause rang out, and the audience moved on, but for those at the center of the storm, the night had already taken a sharp, irreversible turn.

At Nathan’s home, the silence was heavier than the chaos had been.

Katherine stepped out of the car slowly, still trembling from the crowd’s fury. She expected Nathan to at least check on her, to ask if she was alright, or to comfort her after the humiliating attack. Instead, he slammed the car door so hard it echoed through the driveway, then stormed toward the house without looking back.

Her lips parted, disbelief swirling inside her.

When she entered, Nathan was pacing like a man on the edge of losing control. His jaw was tight, his face red, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You slept with Mr. Fernandez for an award," he spat, his voice sharp and biting. "If you wanted it so badly, you could have come to me. I could have spoken to one of the judges, convinced them that you deserved it more. But no...you had to go to him!!"

Katherine’s head tilted back as a bitter laugh slipped out.

He was actually claiming he would have helped her?

"You mean the same way I asked you to get rid of Alisha for me, and your incapable self couldn’t even manage that?" she snapped, her eyes narrowing into slits. Her shame had vanished the moment he confronted her. She no longer cared that he saw her with Fernandez. If anything, she was glad. The pretense was over.

"But of course, you couldn’t," she sneered, her voice rising. "Because you were too busy searching for Eva!"

Nathan’s hands clenched into fists. He was one breath away from striking her. His teeth ground together as his chest rose and fell heavily.

This scandal would destroy him. Investors would call and demand immediate answers. His father would demand an explanation as well, all because of Katherine’s recklessness and greed.

He dragged a hand down his face, trying to contain himself. "Let’s get a divorce," he said at last, his voice low but filled with finality.

Katherine froze. Then, slowly, she let out a scoff.

"You must be joking," she said with a bitter laugh. Her arms folded across her chest, shielding herself. "Have you forgotten that I’m pregnant?"

Nathan’s glare sharpened like a blade. He jabbed a finger toward her stomach, his voice dripping venom. "With everything that’s been revealed about you, how am I supposed to believe that thing is my child?"

The venom stung, but Katherine smiled instead. Anger surged in her veins, boiling beneath her skin but she contained it.

She was already being torn apart online. She knew if she dared open her phone now, she’d be met with curses, threats, and hatred strong enough to make her collapse. Perhaps even lose the baby.

But if this was the end of her marriage, then so be it.

"You want a divorce? Fine," she said coldly. "But as for alimony, I want half of your properties."

Her demand snapped Nathan back. In that instant, he finally saw her for who she was. She had never truly cared about him. It had always been the money.

His jaw ached from how hard he was clenching it. This wasn’t what he imagined when he married her. He had thought she could match him, stand beside him proudly. Instead, she had humiliated him again and again. In just a year of marriage, Katherine had brought him more disgrace than he had ever known with Eva.

Eva, who had carried herself with grace despite the cutthroat entertainment industry. Eva, who had faced the spotlight without a single scandal. And then there was Katherine, a storm that dragged his name through the mud at every turn.

If half his wealth was the price of freedom, he would pay it.

"Fine," Nathan said sharply. "But once that child is born and it turns out to be mine, I will be taking him. Do you understand?"

Katherine’s eyes locked on his, sharp as daggers. She stared at him for a long moment, then her expression softened into something unreadable.

"Hurry up and file for divorce," she whispered, then turned and walked upstairs.

Nathan’s fists trembled at his sides. He wanted to rip his hair out, to scream, to undo every decision that had led him here. Instead, he stood rooted in place, seething by himself.

Upstairs, Katherine entered the bedroom with a smile tugging at her lips.

Her reputation was in flames, but that was nothing new. She had been dragged online before. She had endured it before. There was no fear left in her.

What did bring her satisfaction, however, was the thought of taking half of Nathan’s fortune. That alone was enough to keep her spirits high.

’He really thinks I’ll still be within his reach after the divorce?’ she thought with a scoff. ’How naive.’

She picked up her phone. It had been switched off to keep her sanity intact. With a deep breath, she powered it on, ignoring every single notification that popped up.

There was only one person she needed to contact.

She dialed Alisha’s number, pressing the phone to her ear.

"Let’s meet up," Katherine said coldly.

Her lips curved into a smirk. Tonight, she was going to end everything.
