Chapter 42 Butterfly effect

It was another day of me showing up after dark, completely beaten down from working all day. Soaked to the bone from the rain. I was sore and tired and just wanted to get an entire night's worth of sleep. The dog woke up, and I didn’t see any changes. We’d have to wait and see what the dog gained from eating the core later. I dried her off again before giving her to Dug(golden retriever) and having him show her around.

Dug let me know it was a girl dog. “She has a name?” He looked down before saying. [She didn’t say… She hasn’t said anything yet.] Dug barked at her, and she barked back defensively before Dug cheerily answered. [Her name is Fuck Off.] She was growling at him so I grabbed her by the scruff of her neck. “Hey! We don’t growl at each other, okay? If you’re going to be living here, you can’t just start fights with everyone. Now, what’s your name?”

I forced her head down as she tried to nip at me. I was being more forceful than I normally would when training a dog, but even if the dog only got a physical boost, there was still some rollover intellect gained through the process. She kept thrashing before she finally calmed down. “What is your name?” I could see her tail wagging now that she didn’t have to prove she was the top dog. She chuffed, and Dug answered. “Quinn.”

I let go and gave her some pats before letting the dogs go. [Come with me. I’ll show you where we poop at.] I made my way upstairs and took a quick shower. The water was still fresh, it was another lifesaver living in this area. The house had backup, off-the-grid power, but soon all the stored backup energy would be run through, and we’d have to start the gas-powered generator.

Well, a few days from now. The mansions were unique but similar enough to know that not only did they have natural gas generators, but there was a solar bank as well that they could rely on in the future… I just needed to make sure to remove the panels before the hail hit. Entering my bedroom… Four beautiful women all lay on the gigantic bed.

This was definitely Vicky’s idea… Each of them was dressed as a different Street Fighter character. Melissa was dressed like Chun Li, Vicky like Cammy, Luna like Sakura, and Lissa like Juri. No, Jade, but I was far too distracted to think of why she wasn’t here. “Fffffuck… This feels like a trap.” I pretend to look around. “Where are the guys that show up and knock me out after I jump on the four of you?”

Vicky smiled as she took her top off. “Shut up and come fuck us, you idiot.” I didn’t need to be told twice. I was tired, so tired from all the effort I put in throughout the day but I think I’d always have the energy to fuck my beautiful girlfriends. “Got room for one more?” I turned around at the unfamiliar voice and saw that Ellen(the patient) was the one who asked. “Sure… We got some costumes over there. You’ll have to play an Overwatch character or something. I only had the four Street Fighter cosplays.”

The butterfly effect is a phenomenon whereby a minute localized change in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere. The most over-the-top example of this was how the 9/11 terrorist attacks helped create the Fifty Shades of Grey book series. How many things have changed because of someone returning from the past? It was hard to tell, but one thing was for certain: things definitely had changed.

Most people only look at the negative things caused by the butterfly effect. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, which led to World War 1. Hitler was rejected from art school, which led to World War 2. The 9/11 tragedy created Fifty Shades of Grey.

One thing that changed for the positive was all the lives that were saved from the deaths of the prisoners. After killing all the police and acquiring guns, they didn’t stop with just the police. The largest group affected was the college dorms near the prison. Almost fifty deaths related to the prisoners taking over and reigning like kings until after the floods and blizzards stopped.

It was like a drop of red dye into a bucket of water, the deaths spread from there, hundreds… Possibly even thousands of deaths in the future were thwarted by the deaths of all the violent criminals. It was a complete shift, with the death and imprisonment of most of the criminals, and all the police remaining alive, many lives were saved instead of taken.

But… Sometimes, saving a life that should have died wasn’t a good thing…

Ester’s Point of View

“Ester! Put on some clothes, the boys from the college dorm next to ours are coming over.” My face wrinkled as my roommate once again invited boys over without my permission. “Why do you keep breaking the rules? You’ve already been warned over and over again not to have boys in the dorm or you’d have to find somewhere else to live.”

The college dorms had a stricter set of rules, and my roommate Darcy loved breaking every single rule. She was the dumb bitch who cooked in the dorms and set off the fire alarm at three in the morning. She also had a conga line of men coming in and out of the room. What they said about blondes was true. Young, dumb, and loved to be filled with cum.

“Well, I’m bored and want to have my guts stuffed. So talk with one of the guys until I’m done with the first one.” My face unconditionally scrunched in disgust again as I thought of her petri dish pussy. I felt disgusted living with someone who probably had all the STDs. “No, I’ll go sit in the hallway until you're done. He can keep himself busy jacking off at the door listening to his friend fuck you like normal.”

Darcy pulled out the milk from the fridge and finished it off. I told her to keep the fridge closed, but at least she finished off the things that were going to expire soon. Wiping her mouth with her arm, she quirked her eyebrow up as she spoke her mind. “You really should get a guy to fuck you. You might get rid of that stick up your ass if someone shakes you hard enough.”

“Just don’t forget about me again. I’ll rat your ass out if I’m left sleeping in the hallway again after they’re finally done with you.” I grabbed my phone, earphones, and power bank to keep my phone working as I headed outside. Sooner or later, she’d get tossed out of school, then I could live by myself until the school found another roommate for me. I just had to wait.
