CHAPTER 283: CHAPTER 283: THE ALIENS ARE HERE

When he reached home, Lu Zhen’s solemn expression turned gentle as soon as he saw his wife.

Leng Pan had thought that Lu Zhen would take longer to come back but didn’t expect him to return in less than three hours. Even though she knew that Shade could run very fast, she hadn’t expected them to come back so soon.

But she was happy because she had been worried ever since her husband left. This was the first time he was venturing out alone since the apocalypse began and it wasn’t a comfortable feeling to stay at home and wait.

No wonder every time they went out, their relatives would be so restless. Now she knew how they felt.

She helped her husband take off his coat covered in snow and also materialized a towel to help him wipe his hair.

Once he was dry, she brought him to the sofa and served him a cup of hot tea.

"You came back sooner than I thought. How are Ouyang Jin and the others?" Leng Pan asked after seeing Lu Zhen take a sip of the tea.

She actually knew that he wouldn’t be as cold as the other people because of his mutated fire but she couldn’t help but worry.

"They are fine. They are very excited to know that you are well and looking forward to meeting you." Lu Zhen said with a smile when he remembered their reaction when they saw him.

"Well, I am looking forward to seeing them too. Did you talk to them about future plans?" Leng Pan was eager to begin eliminating the root of the problem because she didn’t want a repeat of what happened in the other world.

"Mmm...they are ready for orders. But we realized something that we had ignored." Lu Zhen suddenly became serious when he said this.

Even the others who were listening at the side could tell that something significant had happened.

"What is it that makes you so sensitive?" Leng Pan also became serious when it came to serious matters that may impact their future actions.

"The aliens are already here." Lu Zhen dropped a bomb then lifted his cup to take a sip of tea.

"What!" It wasn’t just Leng Pan who was surprised, everyone else was the same.

After watching that video that Leng Pan showed them, they understood what was happening better, but they had not expected that those ugly monsters would also have invaded earth.

After Lu Zhen left, the others, especially Lu Tao, had pestered Leng Pan to give him more details about the other earth they tried to save and ended up destroying to save the last of humanity.

From Leng Pan’s narration, they gained a lot of understanding about what situation they were in now. However, they had thought that the aliens would come into their world later and they had time to prepare, but now Lu Zhen was saying that they were already here.

They all knew that Lu Zhen wasn’t someone who would blubber, so the fact that he said that the aliens were here meant that they really were.

But still, they still hoped that what he said was a joke, so Leng Pan asked as if to confirm.

"Are you sure?" She didn’t want to believe that even before they started the fight, the enemy was already prepared.

"I am." Lu Zhen replied and just as Li Yunjia wanted to ask why he was so sure, he heard him ask a question.

"Baby, what do you think of this weather?" With just one question, what did Leng Pan not understand?

She stopped what she was doing and wondered how they had not thought of that at all.

"The weather..." Leng Pan picked up a cup of hot tea of her own and took a sip as she murmured.

"Indeed, how could we not have made the connection? In that case, this cold is just the beginning.

The blizzards will probably begin soon. This isn’t going to give us any advantage." Leng Pan was very familiar with the extreme changes in weather during the apocalypse.

She knew that the situation now will only get worse but they couldn’t afford to rest because those aliens will surely not.

"What are you two talking about?" Uncle Li asked as he looked at the two lovers who were speaking in riddles.

Even though they had gotten a lot of information from Leng Pan while Lu Zhen was away, they knew nothing about the issue of how the weather was connected to the arrival of aliens.

"Well, it’s like this, it’s only when the aliens are on earth that the weather will change so drastically.

If they weren’t, even if there were some changes, it would be something like the winter coming in summer or things like that.

However, does what you see look like a normal winter? No. This is extreme because those who were not prepared when the temperature dropped suddenly from a few degrees to negative fifty in one night, they have already frozen to death.

The only lucky thing is that the weather had been getting colder recently and most people would wear more layers of clothes even in their sleep.

That’s why more people could be saved." Leng Pan explained as clearly as she could.

"So, what you are saying is, the presence of aliens will trigger abnormal weather conditions. That is how you figured it out?" Li Yunjia asked while looking at her eldest son.

"Mmm...it’s only when the aliens are here that the weather will change drastically to accommodate their needs." Lu Zhen replied to his mother softly.

"Accommodate them? Does that mean that they have a hard time surviving in the human realm?" Uncle Li seemed to have caught the crux of the matter.

"Yes, for some reason, they need to change the weather to the extreme at times.

There is extreme cold now, the next time extreme heat might appear without warning as well.

It can be confusing, but it is detrimental to humans and useful to aliens." Leng Pan wasn’t stingy with information as she explained.

However, what everyone heard was a terrifying statement. They hoped that what Leng Pan said wasn’t true but seeing how serious the couple was, they knew that everything they said was true.

"So, what do you intend to do?" Li Yunjia asked again.

She knew that the few of them were probably just burdens but if there was a way they could help the two, then they wouldn’t hesitate to do it.

"Ouyang Jin will be training everyone to improve their strength and Panpan, you know that the weather can also give us an advantage to become stronger if we persevere.

In that case, we can do the same here as well. This extreme cold can help to temper our bodies and improve our strength. If any of you want to join, you can tell us.

We will also communicate this to the other members we have recruited in our team who live within the community." It was rare to see Lu Zhen say so much to other people, even when they were his family.

But Leng Pan was happy that he was getting along well with his family, especially his younger brother.

"I will join you guys. I want to be able to fight side-by-side with you. Even though my offensive power isn’t strong, I can train anyway so that I don’t become a burden if we need to make a big move." Lu Tao expressed his stance when he heard about training.

Even though he still exercised every day since the apocalypse started, he was sure that training together with others will give him more challenge and push him to work harder.

"From the things we saw in that memory Panpan showed us, if we are not a little stronger, then we might cause you trouble.

Therefore, even though we are old, count us in during the training." Auntie Li finally broke her silence and expressed her opinion.

"Your aunt is right. We have to have some ability too and can’t drag you down. Therefore, we will train with you guys." Uncle Li agreed with his wife immediately.

It must be said, Lu Zhen’s habit of doting on his wife was very similar to his uncle’s.

Both of them felt as if their partners were the center of their world, so whatever they said was the law.

It was no wonder they were family. Now, Li Han didn’t hesitate to go out and train in the falling snow just because his wife agreed.

Everyone there was already used to it so nobody found it odd.

"Then, when will you tell the others? The sooner we begin, the better because it will help us to adjust our bodies to the cold before it gets worse." Leng Pan asked while looking at her husband tenderly.

One would think they were saying sweet nothings to each other and not discussing something life-changing.
