CHAPTER 284: CHAPTER 284: TRAINING

"Tomorrow. I will gather them here tomorrow morning so that we can make a plan." With this answer from Lu Zhen, everyone felt somewhat relieved.

When Lu Tao heard that there were aliens in this world, he became interested in finding out more information about them. Thus, he went back to his room to study how he could locate them and gather information.

Leng Pan felt restless because of the knowledge that aliens had already invaded earth and began pacing up and down.

"Baby, why don’t we go try to see how your water superpower works when there is so much snow and it is so cold?" Lu Zhen suggested because he could feel the anxiety gripping his wife and he didn’t want it to cause a nervous breakdown.

Thus, he thought of going out with her to train in the snow. Even though it was too cold outside, they will still need to train there from tomorrow anyway.

When she heard his suggestion, Leng Pan was overjoyed because she could put her worries down for a while and forget.

Therefore, she put on her thick coat and left the apartment with Lu Zhen.

As they walked down the stairs, they met Janna who seemed to be going to their house to look for them.

Janna’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw Leng Pan. Actually, she had always liked female heroes and was very ecstatic that she could see someone who could be counted as the hero of the world.

Now, her goal was to become stronger and be a good and competent fighter like Leng Pan.

"Where are you going, Janna?" Leng Pan asked as she took slow steps down the stairs to where the young girl was standing and waiting.

"I was going to look for you. I wanted to ask if we would go to look for any more supplies before the weather becomes completely undefeated and we wouldn’t be able to leave the front door at all." Janna was straightforward. Something Leng Pan appreciated very much.

"Oh, are you low on any type of supplies?" Leng Pan wondered whether the young girl had been cheated into giving away the supplies they got last time at the mall.

"No, of course not. I am not running low on supplies, but we don’t know how long the winter will last. So, I think it’s better to be prepared for any possibility.

In this case, having more supplies won’t hurt." Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen were impressed by the logical thinking of the little girl.

She was only fourteen years old but her thinking was very mature. However, thinking that she had been forced to mature early because of what happened to her grandparents, then it wasn’t really such a good thing.

That was why even though her request to go look for more supplies sounded absurd, Leng Pan didn’t immediately shut her down.

It looked like the girl was feeling insecure and believed that having more food in the house will make her feel better about her situation.

"Is the meat from last time still there?" Leng Pan asked, wondering whether she still had the meat. It had been a while since the time they got the meat from the cold storage.

"Yes, I still have a lot of meat. I made cured meat, salted meat, jerky, and even dried meat.

I made sure to preserve it in different ways to make sure nothing goes to waste. Now I have enough meat to last for a long time." Indeed, the girl had even made dried fish fillets.

That was practically unseen but she made them to make sure nothing was wasted.

"That’s good. If you want to look for more supplies, we can go now. There are still a few hours of daytime we can use to look for supplies in the nearby area.

It will also give us a chance to train and practice our skills." Since they were going outside to train anyway, they might as well bring her.

While the three of them were talking on the stairs, they heard footsteps coming from below and they turned to look at the person ascending the stairs.

As it turned out, it was Juan Ke who heard their commotion and came out to investigate.

Seeing the three of them together, he walked over and greeted them.

"Are you guys heading out?" Juan Ke asked as he looked at them curiously.

He couldn’t understand what would compel them to leave the warmth of the house with the current weather and go into the freezing outside.

"Mmm...we are going to train. Janna wants to collect more supplies, so we are going out." Lu Zhen replied in a moment of joy.

Of course, no one would believe that he would agree to go out and collect supplies just because it made Janna happy.

They all knew that the only person who could make him move was his wife.

"Let me go get my weapon then. We can all go out together." Juan Ke said.

And thus, the original stroll and training of two people soon became a group of four.

Even though zombies were afraid of the cold, it appeared for some unknown reason that there weren’t many roaming in the streets.

It almost looked like the zombies were hiding as well and afraid of being discovered.

In that case, there was a possibility that the zombies were also attacked by the freezing cold and didn’t dare to leave their shelters.

Still, there were zombies who didn’t seem to feel anything and charged at them the moment they smelled the delicious vitality of a living human.

However, one would notice that the zombies that were out and also attacking them were the lowest level who seemed to have just mutated.

They still had mostly stiff limbs and their speed was slow and their attack power limited.

For these kinds of zombies, Leng Pan didn’t bother much with them and let Janna use them for practice.

As she watched the young girl swing her sword and kill the zombies before retrieving the small and dull crystal cores from their brains, she wondered what this girl would be doing now if the apocalypse hadn’t started.

Looking at her age, she could probably be in middle school or in her first year of high school.

However, here she was now learning how to kill without flinching because the moment she hesitates, she will be dead.

This lifestyle was really not worth living. That was why she was more determined to eliminate the root cause of the apocalypse to make sure that future generations do not face the same problems.

Even though she had no zombies to practice on, Leng Pan still trained her skills and tried to use the environment to form weapons like before.

Now that the water in the atmosphere had increased because of the falling snow, she wanted to assess the strength of the weapon formed.

Thus, she waved her hands and willed water swords to form. Unlike before when she needed some time to condense the sword, she found out that now she could create a sword in the blink of an eye.

Moreover, she could morph the sword as she wanted. It could either be a sharp and thick water sword, or it could turn into an ice sword with a thought.

She could also make spears, arrows, and other weapons. She even tried to make a hammer and turned it to smash the top of an abandoned car on the side of the road.

To her surprise, the roof of the car was dented. Leng Pan could not believe that she had such strength.

It looked like the snow was blessings of water attribute or ice attribute superpower users.

Seeing how her skills were much stronger in this weather, she wanted to try and see what would happen if she tried the mimicry technique.

Thus, when they entered a small shop to see if they could find anything left behind, she let the other three search while she closed her eyes and her image appeared in her mind.

As she thought about creating someone in the same image using water, another version of her appeared in the shop.

This time, she didn’t stop there. She made another mimicry and another. She only stopped after making four because she felt her head getting heavy and her brain feeling as if it was being pierced by needles.

She knew that she had exhausted mental energy but she was also pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

She could now create more versions of herself. Her attack power had increased.

To test what the water version of herself could do, she left thoughts in them about going out and killing zombies.

Thus, she witnessed a scene she had not expected. The versions of her actually went outside the shop and when they met zombies, a sword would materialize in their hands that looked like an extension of their arm then they would attack without hesitation.
