Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse
Chapter 291: A Good Suggestion
CHAPTER 291: CHAPTER 291: A GOOD SUGGESTION
Lu Tao stepped forward reluctantly, pulling out two watches. "Here. They’re linked to each other and to ours. You can send messages directly or voice notes if you’re too lazy to type."
The little guy looked as if someone owed him eight-hundred-thirty thousand dollars with his sullen expression but no one seemed to notice.
Silk grabbed it eagerly, strapping it on immediately. Blaze took the watch more cautiously, inspecting it as if he expected it to explode.
You couldn’t blame him for being cautious. With every type of network and satellite having collapsed, it was surprising that someone could develop something that could still communicate.
"Does it work without power?" Blaze couldn’t help asking as he strapped his own watch as well.
It fit his wrist and looked as if it was custom-made for him.
"Does it work without power?" Blaze asked while examining the watch more closely.
"It runs on a self-charging crystal. As long as you wear it, it’ll power itself with your body’s movement and heat." Lu Tao puffed his chest slightly as if asking for praise.
It was really surprising that such a young boy had such skills.
But of course they couldn’t be told that his computer skills had something to do with his superpower.
Moreover, after coming into contact with the special meteorite in the space bangle, his skills had soared again. Now he could create something out of this world.
It seemed that by the time the apocalypse was over, if possible, then there would be hope of the world having a semblance of the ancient earth that was high-tech.
But everyone would have to wait and see.
Blaze’s eyebrow lifted. "Not bad, kid."
He realized that even though this boy was Lu Zhen’s younger brother, the two had completely different personalities. Lu Zhen didn’t like to talk and he did things quietly.
However, Lu Tao was the complete opposite. If there was still social media, he would have posted his achievements on every social media platform available.
Silk was already typing, sending a message that buzzed on Leng Pan’s wrist. [This is amazing!] appeared on the small screen. His grin stretched from ear to ear.
Vortex wasn’t left behind either. He was also inspecting his watch while thinking of something.
"What is it, Vortex?" Leng Pan noticed his expression and thought that he didn’t like the watch.
She was wondering if he had a better option, but his next statement gave Lu Tao a new idea.
"I was wondering whether a small space could be incorporated into the watch. Even though space is a type of superpower, I always feel as if it could become something tangible.
I am sensitive to the changes in space and I have come to understand it more as my ability advances.
I keep feeling that space can be contained. If that could be done on the devices we carry with us, it would be easy to replenish our supplies when we are outside hunting zombies or those aliens we saw." This wasn’t something that Vortex thought in the spur-of-the-moment.
This was something he had been thinking about ever since Commander Qui made the suggestion that the person who took the catalyst core might have a portable space.
Even though they hadn’t verified whether that was true or not, he still began having the idea that portable space could be created.
He hoped that it could be implemented some day.
When everyone in the Lu family heard what he said, they all became a little alert, but it was done so subtly that no one noticed.
"I think everything is doable. Since you guys got powers from an experiment even before the apocalypse that gave other people their abilities, it should be possible to create a space as well.
However, some research would probably be required." Lu Zhen was the one who replied to Vortex.
He knew that creating a space within the watches wasn’t impossible. Leng Pan had a space within a bangle after all that had existed since ancient earth.
This also showed that the space created within an object could not be exhausted. It was evident from the fact that things that had been in the space bangle before Leng Pan sacrificed herself for the survival of the remaining survivors, were still intact after thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years.
They still didn’t know how many years had passed since the ancient tech-savvy earth was destroyed. This was also because there were no records of that era.
It made it seem like it never existed. If Leng Pan and the others hadn’t recovered their memories, maybe that earth would have been forgotten forever.
However, it seemed that being omitted in history wasn’t such a bad thing. If more greedy people like Commander Qui knew about the prosperity of that era and wanted to do more experiments to get information from it then the world would be filled with madness.
"I will start thinking about how I can add space to such a small object." Lu Tao also promised.
In fact, he had wondered about how a small thing like a bangle that could be worn on the wrist could fit such a large space like the one he saw when Leng Pan showed them around her space.
Now that someone directly suggested creating such a portable space, he began to think about executing it and creating a space.
However, he knew that it wouldn’t be as easy as the other things he had created and designed.
The materials needed to make such a space must also be rare, otherwise, everyone would have had one in the ancient earth that his brother and sister-in-law came from.
"Alright, let’s talk about our training now." Lu Zhen changed the subject because he didn’t want to dwell on something that might endanger his wife.
"What training?" When they heard Lu Zhen start talking about something serious, everyone stopped admiring their new accessory and looked at him attentively.
"We cannot face those evolving zombies and aliens with the kind of strength we have.
