Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse
Chapter 296: First Training Session as a Team
CHAPTER 296: CHAPTER 296: FIRST TRAINING SESSION AS A TEAM
The family of six left their apartment and headed downstairs. Due to the lack of power, they had to take the stairs and for the elders, it was the first time they were leaving the comfort of their home since the arrival of the extreme cold.
The last time they had gone out was when they had gone to the cold storage for meat. Now, they were going to look for supplies in other areas but their main task was to train.
After watching that video of Leng Pan and Lu Zhen from the ancient earth that had been sacrificed, they didn’t want to joke with their training.
Thus, they had prepared themselves mentally to suffer for the short-term before their bodies adjusted to intense training.
However, they had definitely not prepared themselves for the bone-chilling cold that penetrated deep into their bone marrow when they walked out of the building.
It felt as if there were ants biting their very bones, making them shiver.
Li Yunjia and the other two elders couldn’t imagine how the others were feeling if they were experiencing such cold while wearing the bodysuits made using the material found in the conference room of the mansion inside the space within the bangle.
That material could adjust body temperature making it as close to the most comfortable for them as possible.
Nevertheless, they were still suffering from such a condition. What about Janna and the rest who had nothing but a pile of warm wool clothes?
Even so, they couldn’t think too much and just greeted the others.
The team going out that day included Leng Pan, Lu Zhen, Lu Tao, Li Yunjia, Li Han, Auntie Li, Assistant Yao, his mother, Juan Ke, Janna, Xu Man, his wife, Blaze, Vortex, and Silk.
It turned out that within their community, their team was already so big. They were already a group of fifteen people.
Even though some couldn’t fight as well as others, if all of them trained, then add the other group led by Ouyang Jin, then there was a chance at fighting those aliens and the humans who had turned traitors.
"Does everyone have a weapon?" Leng Pan preferred to check such things before they leave so that they don’t find later that a teammate was unarmed and end up dragging the others down, especially if said teammate had no superpowers.
"We do." Everyone replied.
Even Auntie Yao was carrying a sword that her son had found for her. Unlike the regular swords used by many people, this was a shorter and lighter one.
Assistant Yao had found it during one of his supply runs inside a small restaurant selling Chinese food.
It wasn’t used for chopping vegetables, so Assistant Yao assumed that it must have been used for protection.
But it was very fitting for his mother, so he took it back home.
After making sure that everyone was armed, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen led the way walking shoulder-to-shoulder.
It looked as if they didn’t feel the cold that was making some of the other members of the team shiver.
The truth was, they really didn’t feel cold. Their superpowers had improved enough to make their bodies different from normal humans.
As long as they had warm clothes, and with the bodysuits adjusting their temperature, they were fine, just like how it was normally.
However, they had not told anyone about this.
"Should we bring Shade along?" Leng Pan seemed to have remembered the wolf and turned to ask her husband.
"Sure, bring it out. It’s a hunter as well. It could also train with us." Since that was his partner, Lu Zhen wanted the wolf to also train.
Therefore, he wasn’t opposed to his wife taking the wolf out of her space.
Because of her improvement in superpowers, Leng Pan could use her water ability to create a vacuum around her or a certain limited area where no one could find out what was happening.
Not even Vortex who was sensitive to space fluctuations.
Thus, Leng Pan created a vacuum around herself and her husband and let Shade out.
It happened so quickly that the others didn’t even seem to have noticed any abnormalities. They just saw a wolf appear next to Lu Zhen but they didn’t know where it came from.
Blaze turned to look at Vortex who shook his head.
It was a silent conversation that the three members of the Dominion squad understood.
However, what shocked them was the fact that Vortex felt or sensed nothing. That was to say that there hadn’t been any fluctuations in the space near them.
But if that was so, then where did the wolf come from? It couldn’t have materialized out of thin air.
However, since they couldn’t come up with anything, they could only keep quiet.
They also wondered where Lu Zhen got the wolf from. One could tell at a glance that he was its master from how it was behaving.
Lu Zhen stretched his hand and brushed it across the wolf’s back. Its fur felt soft and with the falling snow, its white coat of fur became even whiter and purer.
If the wolf walked only about ten meters away, it could completely blend with the environment around it and no one would be able to see it if it didn’t make a sound.
The three elderly women were walking together in the middle of the group while gossiping about their children while Lu Zhen and Assistant Yao pretended not to hear them.
"Boss, do you want to train Shade to become a hunter?" Assistant Yao was curious about the wolf but he knew better than to ask unnecessary questions.
He actually wished he had one like that, but of course, he couldn’t compare to his boss, so he could only fulfill his desire to tame a hunting animal through Shade.
"It would be helpful if it can be trained and join in battle during critical moments." Lu Zhen replied while hiding his thoughts.
Thank you guys for your support. My son is done with his national exams and finally, the stressful issue crowding my mind is gone.
I will start daily updates again and try to complete the book as soon as possible.
