Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse
Chapter 302: Was the Creature in the Pod a Human or an Alien?
CHAPTER 302: CHAPTER 302: WAS THE CREATURE IN THE POD A HUMAN OR AN ALIEN?
Both Lu Zhen and his wife were surprised to hear that those people were specifically looking for them.
Moreover, from the way they addressed them, it was obvious that they were people from the previous life or sent by someone from that life.
Since they didn’t know whether it was a friend or an enemy, it was better to be more careful.
So, they decided not to let others know where they were living yet before discovering their real purpose.
The family had dinner before Leng Pan and Lu Zhen went back to their apartment.
Since Leng Pan had decided to check in the experimental subjects in the space bangle, the two of them entered the space as soon as they took off their cumbersome winter clothes.
The first went into their bedroom inside the high-tech mansion for a bath and a change of clothes first before going to the conference room to check in their ’guest’.
The creature inside the pod was just as they had left it before. However, the two noticed cracks on the glass.
In fact, the cracks had appeared when they were examining the pods in the hidden lab in that abandoned town, but they hadn’t noticed at the time.
That was the reason that the two lovers didn’t realize that the cracks were denser and bigger than before.
They also didn’t know whether those cracks were there because something happened or if they had accidentally hit the pod on something and the glass cracked.
For the first time, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen examined the creature inside the pod carefully.
It had various human features except for the height that exceeded six feet quite a bit. But this won’t be anything too unusual as there were some people who were taller than normal.
The other features such as skin and bone structure also looked human, except that the skin was extremely pale, like a vampire that never saw the sun.
Well, technically, the creature in the pod had never seen the sun so its skin color was understandable.
It however, had long and sharp ears like an elf, unlike the shape of human ears.
Since its eyes were closed, it was difficult to tell what color the eyes were but unless they were red like those of a blood bat, it wouldn’t make a difference because there were humans with all colors of eyes around the world.
The fingers of the creature were longer than normal and the nails were unnaturally shaped like a cat’s claws.
Leng Pan didn’t know whether they would extend like how movies showed some aliens stretching some of their body parts or they would remain the same size.
She already had enough memories from her last life to know that aliens could practically shape-shift. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if this one could turn its nails into some dangerous weapons.
"Hubby, do you think this thing has the DNA of humans and aliens combined?" Leng Pan turned to her husband and asked after looking at the creature in detail.
"Looking at its features, probably both. But where did the scientists from so many years ago get the alien DNA from?" This wasn’t a question that only Lu Zhen wanted to know the answer to, everyone who saw the creature and learned about aliens would want to know as well.
The lab in that remote village had been abandoned for so many years, yet the apocalypse had only just started.
So, where did the alien DNA come from decades ago?
"Do you think that some of the traitors regained their memories a long time ago? Also, did they hide something inside the tech city in the other world?" Leng Pan thought that the only way the scientists could have obtained alien DNA to make such a creature was if it was preserved from before the other world was blown up by her.
But now thinking that the aliens had invaded the earth again, it meant that some of them escaped when the world exploded, or not all aliens had arrived at that time.
Nevertheless, looking at how the traitors from back then were already back in business, it would also mean that the aliens in that earth had a way of sending messages to their counterparts wherever they were.
This would explain why even after all the other aliens perished after the explosion that killed the past Leng Pan, the survivors knew about the traitors and we’re even working with them again.
"There is a possibility that we had overlooked something. There were measures put in place to detect if any alien entered the city back then, but what if only some blood vials or something like that that contained their DNA was smuggled in by humans?" Lu Zhen wondered out aloud as he thought about his wife’s question.
"If that’s the case then this apocalypse had been planned for thousands of years.
It has been more than five thousand years since then, maybe even ten thousand considering that this new earth was already filled with people and prosperous.
It even has its own ancient history.
But if something like smuggling alien DNA into the city and being transported together with the City when it entered a different space really happened, then it could only mean that the aliens are many many many steps ahead of us and getting rid of them won’t be easy." Leng Pan was shocked by what Lu Zhen was implying, but it also made sense.
"Then it looks like our fight might be more brutal and more complicated than we had thought." Lu Zhen’s face changed when he said that and his expression became more serious.
If what they were speculating was real, then ending the apocalypse had just become more like a dream that would take colossal effort to achieve.
"We don’t have to think like that. Even if they are a thousand steps ahead of us, they are in our tuff. This is our earth, not their planet.
