CHAPTER 304: CHAPTER 304: THOUSANDS OF ZOMBIES GATHERED TOGETHER

It was literally increasing the amount of spiritual energy in the bodies of the family members without them having to do anything.

The elders didn’t need to ask to know that the two lovers had spent the night in the mansion.

Seeing that it was still early, the other members decided to meditate first and take advantage of the spiritual energy coming from the two to increase their powers.

After meditating for an hour, breakfast, which Uncle Li had cooked much earlier, was served.

By 8:00 am everyone was already waiting in front of the building and as soon as the Lu family members appeared, the training for the second day began.

Even though the energy waves on Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had reduced somewhat, it still affected the others who seemed to realize something and everyone including the youngest Janna took out crystal cores to absorb while walking.

This helped them to pull and assimilate the energy that stuck to the two leaders.

When they met the first few zombies, Li Yunjia and her sister-in-law took care of them.

They were still not completely used to killing zombies and their fighting style had no technique. That’s why Lu Zhen and Leng Pan kept explaining what to do to them depending on the situation they were in.

And it looked like the guidance was paying off. The day before they could barely tackle a single zombie and it would take a long time while risking injury to just kill one medium level zombie.

However, after only one day, the two women could each take down a level two zombie without a sweat and the risk of injury due to mistakes had gone down significantly.

As the other teammates started to finish their meditation and joined in the fun to kill zombies, the team took a different route from yesterday.

They had walked for an hour while killing zombies and navigating the streets and roads that had been completely covered by snow when they walked into a horde of more than a thousand zombies.

This was the first time in a long time that Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had seen so many zombies together.

Back when they were training after the apocalypse started, they had fought many hordes of zombies. At first, they would struggle to even eliminate fifty of the regular zombies.

However, their strength grew step-by-step and now, they could literally wave a hand and a good number of zombies would fall.

The group stood there looking at the dense number of zombies crowding in front of a building while more surrounded it.

It looked as if there was something there that attracted them so much that apart from a few zombies that left the large horde and came to attack the team, the rest acted as if they didn’t exist.

This was one behavior that zombies would not exhibit unless there was something very attractive to them in that building.

So attractive that it had surpassed their natural craving for fresh human meat and blood.

"What are those zombies doing there?" Janna asked curiously while moving backwards to hide behind Leng Pan.

Even though she was brave and wasn’t afraid of fighting zombies, when it came to such a large horde that even with her ability couldn’t count, she didn’t want to run to the front.

That would be suicide and she didn’t want to die yet.

Lu Tao, as someone with super vision, immediately extended his superpowers and concentrated the spiritual energy in his eyes so that he could see past the skeletons of the large crowd of zombies in front of them.

He was even more surprised to find that not only was the outside of the building crowded by zombies, the inside was also packed.

Almost every spot inside the building had a zombie standing on it. It was so packed that even water wouldn’t have the space to trickle between the zombies.

However, he noticed that all those zombies were looking in the same direction. Moreover, there were some stronger ones at the front that were repeatedly hammering at a door with all their strength.

Nevertheless, it felt as if the place was a fortress.

No matter how many times the zombies slammed themselves against the door and the walls, nothing happened. The door didn’t even budge or shake.

This was completely against logic because even though his superpower was different, Lu Tao could still tell that some of the zombies had also awakened a kind of ability and some had enhanced strength.

It looked like the place the zombies were trying to enter wasn’t ordinary.

What made him frustrated was that even with his improved X-ray vision, he couldn’t see what was beyond that door. Even the walls seemed to have been painted black in a way that he couldn’t see anything.

This was the first time Lu Tao was experiencing something like this. His vision and hearing had never failed him as long as he wanted to know something, but for some reason, he couldn’t see what was inside that house.

To be more particular, it was a room inside that building that the zombies were trying to get into.

After making sure that he couldn’t see anything even after straining, Lu Tao turned around and looked at his brother and sister-in-law before shaking his head.

He couldn’t say anything since he had been told to keep his superpower a secret. But he knew that his family would understand him just the same.

Lu Zhen creased his brows as he looked at the zombies that were climbing over each other to get into the building.

Anything that could attract the zombies to this extent was bad news for the humans.

This had been the situation at that time when he and Leng Pan found the catalyst core on the crater beside the road.

He wondered whether it was another catalyst core. If it was, then they had to take it back as soon as possible before the zombies here made use of it to increase their strength.
