CHAPTER 308: CHAPTER 308: THE UNUSUAL STONE

This was obviously an unusual situation. How could glass on the window of such a building be so tough?

Assistant Yao thought about it and decided to use his super speed to his advantage. He wasn’t very good in calculations or physics but he was aware that if his hand moved at a certain frequency, it would be able to vibrate at the same frequency as the glass window, thus allowing it to pass through the glass without breaking it.

At that moment, that seemed to be the best solution.

Hence, Assistant Yao started to vibrate his hand at a high speed and placed it on the glass window.

Since he didn’t know the right frequency, he decided to just try and when it reached the right one, it would allow his hand to pass through.

After waiting for almost a minute, he suddenly felt as if the glass had become one with his hand and almost all his arm was on the other side of the window.

He didn’t waste any time and unbolted the window before pulling out his arm.

After the window was open, he felt a certain energy coming from the room but didn’t know where.

He turned to look up and saw the others standing at the edge watching him with curiosity and worry.

"I have opened the window and there is definitely something inside. Boss, can you come down to check if it is possible? I think it’s not anything ordinary."

"Alright, Panpan and I will come down, the rest of you stay here and guard against any zombies." Lu Zhen instructed before he and Leng Pan went down.

They materialized daggers from their superpowers and used them like climbing gear.

They would stab one into the wall and climb down before doing the same with the other.

One was wielding water daggers and the other fire. It was a beautiful contrast even to the eyes.

It didn’t take long for them to climb to the window that Assistant Yao had opened and climbed into the room.

As soon as the two climbed in, they felt the energy fluctuations in the air.

"When I tried to break the window, I found that it was too hard. I doubt even a rocket launcher could leave a scratch on it.

I don’t think that is something normal, especially in such a neighborhood.

That’s why I asked my boss to come down." Assistant Yao explained.

"Mmm... There is a type of energy here that can’t be explained. I am guessing it’s what has attracted those zombies here." Lu Zhen agreed with his assistant and as if to confirm his claim, roars of excitement came from all around the building.

The roars were so loud that the building started to shake.

"It seems that some of that energy has leaked out because of the open window and the zombies have felt it.

They will soon become desperate. Let’s look for the source and block it before we get surrounded even from the roof." Leng Pan suggested.

She wasn’t afraid to be surrounded by zombies, but she didn’t want the weaker members of the team to get hurt.

"Alright, let’s look around. It should be in this room." Lu Zhen always listened to his wife, so he agreed immediately.

Assistant Yao did everything his boss ordered, so he also joined the frenzy to look for the source of that energy.

The few of them didn’t need to look for long before they found what looked like an unremarkable black stone in the bathroom.

It was lying on the floor of the bathroom quietly but one could feel that the bathroom had the highest intensity of the mysterious energy.

They couldn’t tell what that stone was. Even for Leng Pan and Lu Zhen who had lived for two lifetimes and remembered the previous apocalypse, it was hard for them to identify the stone.

Since they couldn’t tell what it was, they decided to put it away first to isolate the energy it emitted before figuring out their next move.

Thus, Leng Pan put the stone in the space bangle and in the next second, all that energy disappeared.

It was cut so abruptly that even the zombies outside became disoriented.

"How on earth did that stone get here?" Assistant Yao couldn’t understand because it was obvious that that wasn’t a normal stone.

Lu Zhen looked around the bathroom before pointing upwards.

"It fell through the roof." He said confidently.

Both Leng Pan and Assistant Yao raised their heads to look at the completely intact roof, then remembered the still intact roof they had been standing on and didn’t understand what Lu Zhen meant.

How could the stone have fallen through the roof when the roof was intact?

As if he could understand their unspoken question, Lu Zhen said, "Even though the roof is intact and every spot has the same color tone and doesn’t look like it had been repaired, look at the floor."

Both Leng Pan and Assistant Yao looked down and saw debris and broken concrete on the floor.

The floor was obviously intact, so where did all that concrete come from? Moreover, the parts that had paint looked the same as the paint on the ceiling.

"What in god’s name is going on?" Assistant Yao asked with goosebumps rising on his back.

"I guess the stone is unusual. It has the ability to strengthen and reconstruct.

It must have broken all the concrete from the roof when it fell, but its power repaired it.

If I am not wrong, the floor should have been the same but was repaired too. What do you think, hubby?" Leng Pan asked as she turned to look at her husband with a smile.

"You are right, I was thinking the same thing.

Let me try burning the floor and see if it turns to dust like others do when burnt by my mutated fire." Lu Zhen quickly agreed with his wife and decided to test the ability of the stone.

Both Leng Pan and Assistant Yao retreated and left Lu Zhen to burn the tiles on the floor of the bathroom.
