CHAPTER 34: INFINITE

Before Liam could even think about what kind of creatures they were, the black skeletons charged at everyone.

Liam saw one coming his way. He transformed his hand into a stone dragon hand and struck the skeleton hard.

BANG!

With a single blow, he easily shattered the skeleton into countless tiny bone fragments.

There was no notification afterward, as if he hadn’t killed anything at all.

No, maybe that was the case. The skeleton wasn’t a living creature to begin with—destroying it didn’t mean killing it.

They were merely the bones of corpses that could move—commonly referred to as undead.

However, these ones seemed like a type of undead with no life force of their own—or perhaps they were being controlled remotely.

BANG!

Liam then smashed the skeletal hands holding his legs. Both broke instantly, and he leapt onto Simba’s back.

At that moment, he saw even more undead emerging from underground. They were even pouring out from Business Street.

The first group looked fairly standard, but the ones that followed were larger and more vicious.

When they charged, Liam realized they were no different from Level 4 zombies and above—they were fast.

Some even carried swords and spears.

They looked more like a battle-hardened army charging with intense fighting spirit.

"Go forward!" Liam commanded Simba.

He had no interest in fighting the undead since they didn’t grant him any Battle Points.

Simba quickly sprinted ahead, with Milo following close behind.

They easily cleared the undead standing in their way.

When they finally arrived at the wide Business Street, Liam saw undead stretching as far as the eye could see—both ahead and behind.

There were simply too many.

Shua!

Suddenly, a massive undead figure, standing 3.5 meters tall and clad in tattered armor, charged at him. It held a huge greatsword made of black iron and swung it toward Liam.

From its movements, Liam could tell—this one was very strong.

He drew his sword and tried to block the strike.

Clang!

The impact of the greatsword was far more powerful than he expected.

Even with his stone dragon hand, the force caused Liam’s body to tremble, while Simba, who was supporting him, nearly collapsed from the pressure.

Liam thought that not even a Level 8 Zombie could strike with such physical power.

As the undead dropped down in front of him, Liam kicked it using his foot while activating Infinite Attack.

He wanted to see how the skill would perform.

When the undead was flung into the air by his kick, Liam saw a copy of his foot appear beside it and strike the same way.

Then another foot appeared behind it and kicked its back, followed by one in front.

This time, the undead tried to slash the foot and managed to cut it—but yet another appeared above its head and kicked it again.

It wasn’t a strong attack, but it kept appearing again and again. Liam didn’t feel affected at all—as if the attack didn’t even come from him.

Of course, the initial attack while using the skill consumed a lot of Mana.

However, after that, no Mana was needed.

The undead was sent flying in all directions as more feet kept appearing—behind, beside, and above.

Fortunately, the creature didn’t seem to have emotions, so it wasn’t stressed or frustrated by this.

Instead, it was Liam who began feeling frustrated—as three more similar undead suddenly leapt toward him.

The only difference among them was their weapons.

They carried a spear and a hammer.

"Dodge!" he ordered Simba, who swiftly evaded the attack.

Liam was well aware that fighting wouldn’t yield anything.

He needed to figure out how these undead were being summoned.

But all he could see was more undead appearing.

By now, the students under attack had begun to scatter in various directions.

It looked like they were being deliberately separated so they would have to fight alone.

Those who could fly—like Joel and Lisa—had it a bit easier. But even Anthony, with his powerful third skill, was being overwhelmed.

Melly was fortunate—thanks to her rabbit form, she could run fast and leap high.

Most students had already decided to retreat, but clearly, that wasn’t so easy.

As Liam remained deep in thought, he suddenly noticed something interesting in one of the skyscrapers.

In the middle of the building, he saw a flashlight shining brightly—despite it being daytime—and it occasionally blinked.

It looked like a signal from someone trapped inside the building.

Liam didn’t know who the person was, but since they had been here earlier, maybe they knew something about the undead.

He thought about going to them, but wondered how to reach that high up.

While he could fly by turning his right arm into a Phoenix wing, the person was way too high up.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to enter the building from the ground floor.

He told Simba where to go.

With one leap, the cat arrived in front of the building.

"Wait for me here," Liam said before jumping off his back and entering the skyscraper, which appeared to be a luxury office building.

The lobby looked futuristic and elegant—but it was now a mess.

All the elevator doors were shut, and Liam knew they were unusable.

Fortunately, he found the stairs.

He quickly began running up the stairwell, even though he knew it would take time.

Luckily, his stamina had grown substantially, and his speed was incredible—especially with his skill that gave his feet cat-like agility.

He dashed floor by floor, passing by many zombies inside the building.

Thankfully, they were only Level 1, 2, and 3. He could ignore them and keep going.

However, he didn’t know what floor the person was on.

Trying to locate the flashlight signal from outside had made it difficult to pinpoint the exact level.

Thinking it would take too long, he summoned a regular zombie and ordered it to lead him to any humans in the building.

When the zombie stopped on a certain floor, Liam knew he had found the person.

He saw one tightly shut door.

Knock, knock, knock!

"Are you in there?" he asked while knocking.

Soon, he heard something heavy being dragged aside.

It seemed the door had been blocked by furniture—shelves, maybe a desk—not just locked.

It didn’t take long before it opened, revealing the figure of a tall middle-aged woman wearing slacks and a white blouse with a red tie.

Her blond hair was messy, but she still looked striking—thanks to long gold earrings and a diamond necklace around her neck. Even her watch appeared to be encrusted with diamonds.

She was very beautiful, with pale white skin and dark circles around her eyes made glossy by eyeliner.

Liam figured she might be a bigg boss.
