Road to becoming the wealthiest: Starting From Treasure Hunting in the Cabinets
Chapter 1521 - 725
CHAPTER 1521: 725
Sean Knight found it somewhat interesting that among less than ten people, two were together and still arguing.
He moved over without drawing attention to himself.
Due to his keen hearing, Sean Knight had already made out what the two were specifically arguing over—
Both had their eyes on a material inside one of the displays—Sean Knight saw it; it was a pair of testicles.
Alright, this item was indeed rare, the only pair.
In fact, other things, such as eyes, for instance... and so on, also came in single pieces.
Sean Knight had priced this particular piece much higher, five times that of other body tissues.
It was itself a bizarre act, and, unexpectedly, it also sparked argument between the parties.
"Increase the bid," Elijah Hastings decided, "Whoever offers more gets it."
With those words, neither party spoke up.
Clearly, neither had planned on paying a high price; the quintupled rate was already beyond everyone else’s estimates. To continue bidding would be like searching for a sucker.
"If you’re not prepared to increase the bid, then leave," Elijah Hastings said, "Don’t argue here, or you’ll be thrown out."
Sean Knight and the others had previously discussed that there would never be a shortage of buyers for this item because, as far as they knew, only that many had appeared in the world. If it really came down to it, Sean Knight’s offering to sell the items was giving these people an opportunity.
If they didn’t recognize this favor and made a fuss here, then there would be no need for pleasantries.
They wouldn’t deserve the face he was giving them.
Of course, being caught making fun of them earlier didn’t count—that was his own mistake.
At Elijah’s words, both sides became unhappy, with one bald black man raising his hand, saying:
"Why? I came here to buy, didn’t I? Am I not paying money? I just hope to obtain this piece of material—that’s all—we are buyers, and I hope we’re given a proper standing!"
He was demanding some respect!
Elijah Hastings laughed.
He said:
"Sure, as long as you abide by our rules, I’ll make you feel at home, but if you cause trouble and shout here, then sorry, you don’t deserve to be our guest...
You should know, if you don’t want it, there are others here dying to have these materials."
As Elijah said this, those around them started to jeer; clearly, quite a few hadn’t seen the two "eggs" inside the display case until now. Now that it was brought up, others turned their attention and naturally, some hoped to purchase.
The black man felt angry and humiliated. Suddenly, he twisted a ring on his right hand and then aimed the face of the ring at Elijah Hastings!
Elijah reacted swiftly; he didn’t dodge but instead lunged directly at the black man.
He knew that the man’s ring had to be lethal, but as a security guard, Elijah’s first response was to subdue the opponent, to avoid accidental casualties.
The corners of the black man’s mouth revealed a smug smirk; clearly, he thought Elijah wouldn’t be able to dodge!
The black man had tested the ring’s weapon and its lethality; this man was certainly not going to end well!
He had already planned it out—kill this Chinese man, then chaos would ensue on site, and he and his companion could take advantage of the turmoil to steal a large quantity of organ tissue—they hadn’t even expected the security at this place to be so lax!
As the black man made his move, several individuals immediately burst from the crowd, assaulting the nearby security guards.
The leading black man wore a look of triumph and arrogance; he was already fantasizing about how to dispose of the stolen goods afterward!
"Bang!"
However, before he could activate his ring, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head, struck by something.
He wanted to turn around to see, but then an overwhelming dizziness spread throughout his body, and he fell heavily to the ground with a "bang."
At that moment, the ring emitted a beam of red light, shooting towards the floor and scorching a small black hole!
Elijah felt a wave of relief; if that had hit him, wouldn’t it have pierced right through?
However, it was just a flicker of thought before he immediately set about subduing the other troublemakers.
Sean Knight slapped down a black man with a palm strike and then, like lightning, moved beside another person, punching him to the ground, followed by the third, the fourth...
Within a minute, all eleven troublemakers in the exhibition hall were knocked down by Sean and his companions, including one customer who had tried to take advantage of the chaos.
Clearly, these people had no moral bottom line—as long as they could secure enough benefits, they would do so, even if it meant breaking the law.
Although the commotion lasted only a short while, it caused significant damage. Seven display cases were destroyed to varying degrees, three security guards were injured, and four customers were pushed down and sustained minor abrasions.
The main reason for this was the unconventional weapons carried by these thugs. Aside from the first black man’s ring, the others carried non-metallic weapons that were difficult to predict or prevent when assembled.
Of course, these individuals were quite influential to have deceived Old Baker and obtained invitations.
"Alright, the bad guys have been cleared out, let’s continue shopping," announced Sean Knight, clapping his hands vigorously to calm those still slightly alarmed. His voice wasn’t loud, but it clearly reached every ear:
"To express our apologies, all customers purchasing materials today will enjoy a 10% discount..."
10% off—that’s a 100,000-dollar discount per 100 grams!
That’s a substantial discount!
Those who were initially somewhat dissatisfied or hesitant immediately started scanning the QR code with their mobile phones.
And those who didn’t know how to operate it were even more anxious, pulling over a security guard and asking him to teach them how to scan!
On-site, three people began bidding, including for the locations of those two eggs.
What followed was a relatively dull process, nothing but buying, buying, buying, without any further incidents.
Douglas Cooper, along with a security guard, took the bruised and battered robbers to the entrance, where the police who had arrived took these individuals into custody.
Regarding Sean Knight, the director of the Stockholm Police Station was well aware. So one could imagine what fate awaited these people.
"At last, we’ve sent those people off."
After the last customer was escorted out, Elijah Hastings breathed a sigh of relief, "I feel so tired!"
"We’ve made a good amount," Douglas Cooper said with a smile.
"Boss, today was my oversight..." Lincoln Harrington came over after settling the payments for the security guards, his face full of regret. "There was trouble last time, and this time..."
"It’s not your fault," Sean Knight waved it off. "It would’ve been the same for anyone—how could anyone have known these guys would come up with such tricks?"
"It’s my fault," Old Baker also stepped forward to admit his error. "I didn’t anticipate these people would impersonate members of a research institute..."
"I guess their invitations were real, but their identities were fake—they must have stolen someone else’s identity to get here."
"We’ve caused Mr. Knight so much loss, I’ll forgo my commission this time..." Old Baker said.
"You’ve got it wrong," Sean Knight said with a smile. "Do you think I’d lose a lot because of the 10% discount? Not at all. The discount actually convinced those who were skeptical to firm up their buying decision, and those who were planning to buy one item ended up buying two or three..."
He pointed to the empty counters in the exhibition hall:
"Look, if there hadn’t been a discount at that moment, these items might not have sold out. So, it looks like we lost some on the surface, but in reality, we earned—a lot!"
With that, everyone else settled down to await the distribution of the spoils.
This time they had earned over 300 million dollars, with Old Baker taking home more than 10 million dollars, which was more than he had ever earned before!
Although there were no more such good opportunities afterwards, Old Baker was full of confidence.
With those more than 10 million dollars, whether he continued in the fishing salvage business, switched careers, or even retired directly, it wouldn’t be a problem.
After Old Baker left, Sean Knight gave Elijah and the other two 30 million dollars apiece, with the remainder going into his own account.
The operation ended safely, with a few surprises but no dangers.
Just as Sean Knight was about to continue soothing Cheryl Suweton’s mind and body, Lana Brown made a phone call.
Sean Knight answered the phone call and, after hearing Lana Brown’s plan, felt it was time to head over to Big Island.
