Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!
Chapter 118: Not Eloping Abroad with Ian Sterling?
CHAPTER 118: CHAPTER 118: NOT ELOPING ABROAD WITH IAN STERLING?
Mrs. Spencer looked at her very stubborn son with some helplessness, has he really chosen that woman?
Sigh, I wonder when I will finally hold a grandchild?
Now, how could she dare to find fault with Summer Nolan?
After his mother left, Elias Spencer twisted the door handle and only then realized he couldn’t get in. He hadn’t brought his keycard or phone!
He patted the door: "Knock, knock... Summer, open the door..."
"Knock, knock... Summer..." He knocked again, but after a while, there was no sound from inside.
Is she still asleep?
A couple walked down the hallway and, seeing a man in a robe standing there, looked at him with amusement.
Elias Spencer shot them a cold look, and they quickly looked away and hurried off.
He knocked again on the door—
Summer Nolan, who had been sound asleep, was woken up, opened her eyes groggily, and sat up from the chaise. Suddenly, she heard Elias Spencer’s voice again.
"Didn’t he sleep in the bed last night?"
"When did he go outside?"
As her mind gradually cleared, she remembered his actions from last night, "Why should I open the door for him? Let him stay outside!"
Outside, Elias Spencer stood at the door with a sullen face and knocked again, "...Summer?"
She pretended not to hear and lay back down on the chaise, covered herself with a blanket, and continued to sleep.
But after being woken up, she was a bit sleepless and got up to wash up.
Several young and beautiful women walked down the hallway, and seeing such a handsome man with an abundance of masculine hormones, they were instantly infatuated.
They boldly asked, "Hey, handsome, want to come play with us in our room?"
"Get lost!" Elias Spencer swept his eyes over them full of hostility. The women were scared and tactfully left.
Elias Spencer crossed his arms and waited awkwardly outside for half an hour before the room door finally opened with a click—
He looked at the woman who had already washed up, dressed in yesterday’s evening gown, and lightly made up, and clenched his teeth slightly,
"You were awake the whole time and didn’t open the door?"
"Why should I open it for you?" Summer Nolan said and was about to leave when her wrist was suddenly grabbed by him. Elias Spencer softened his tone a bit and asked,
"Where are you going?"
"To eat." She tersely replied.
"Wait for me." Elias Spencer pulled her back into the room. While he washed up in the bathroom, Summer Nolan seized the opportunity to leave. She definitely didn’t want to be seen with him.
It was best to keep her distance from him.
She picked up some food at the breakfast buffet and was just about to find an empty seat when a familiar voice called her:
"Attorney Nolan, come sit over here."
Following the voice, she saw it was Mrs. Spencer. Since the client had called her over, it wouldn’t be polite not to go.
She carried her tray over and sat opposite her, "Good morning, Mrs. Spencer. Did you sleep well last night?"
"Very well, and you?" Mrs. Spencer glanced at her face, which was now completely unswollen. She looked indeed beautiful, with an enduring quality and a bit of toughness.
"I was okay too." Summer Nolan replied perfunctorily.
"Last night I saw you and Attorney Spencer sharing a room. Are you two a couple?" Mrs. Spencer wanted to know what she really thought.
She was stunned for a moment, with an awkward smile said, "Attorney Spencer just had a cup of coffee in my room. We’re just colleagues, not a couple. You know I’m his nemesis."
"I think he treats you quite well. He even saved you yesterday. Don’t you like him?"
"I don’t." Summer Nolan ate a spoonful of porridge and answered very straightforwardly.
Mrs. Spencer slightly furrowed her brow. She previously thought she wasn’t worthy of her son, but now she was worried that she didn’t like her son!
Didn’t they sleep together already?
If she were accidentally pregnant, that would be great—
"Later, accompany me to the mall." Mrs. Spencer spoke coldly and authoritatively, seeing her still in yesterday’s dress and planning to buy her some clothes.
"Alright... What about the agency matter, Mrs. Spencer, have you thought it over?" Summer Nolan took the chance to ask.
"Once we return to the city, come to my group to sign the contract." Once the contract was signed, there would be plenty of opportunities for interactions in the future.
"Okay." She happily agreed.
After breakfast, they went to the third-floor mall on the cruise ship, which sold a wide variety of clothing, all international brands.
As they were shopping, Elias Spencer showed up. His mother had sent him the location secretly after he had called and texted Summer Nolan to no avail.
"..." How did he know we were here?
Summer Nolan looked at the approaching man with some surprise. Just a few minutes ago, he had called her to ask where she was, and now he’d found her so quickly?
Elias Spencer gave the woman an angry look and said coldly, "I’m leaving the ship this afternoon to head back to the city and should make it in time for tomorrow morning’s case."
Upon hearing him, Summer Nolan frowned, "Didn’t you say last night you weren’t taking the Summit case anymore?"
"If Attorney Nolan loves to get angry so much, you can stay here and keep being angry." He said, lighting a cigarette indifferently and taking a deep drag. As he exhaled a swirl of smoke, his tone was calm:
"Oh, and as leaders of the law firm, we should be role models and abide by the firm’s rules. When we return, I’ll make our relationship public; isn’t Attorney Nolan eager to elope abroad with Ian Sterling?
Go ahead, but just a friendly reminder: don’t close your eyes when you sleep at night or Mr. and Mrs. Sterling might just take you out."
If Sean Sterling punished her once, there would surely be a second time. She still wanted to marry into the Sterling Family? What a joke.
Summer Nolan looked at him intently, her delicate brows furrowing deeper. Was this a threat?
It must be said; he did touch a sore spot. She couldn’t leave the firm now—not with her two main enemies right in front of her. This was the best time.
And it was a hard-won chance to get close to them.
She had waited many years for this.
Why let revenge get in the way with him over such trivial matters?
Summer Nolan silently took a deep breath, adeptly switched tones, and playfully hooked her arm around his, "We are not even lovers now. We just slept together; there’s nothing to report to the firm, is there?
And besides, this cruise is so much fun; why not stay one more day with me before heading back?"
Elias Spencer was taken aback by her sudden change of demeanor; she switched faces faster than flipping through a book!
"Not eloping abroad with Ian Sterling anymore?" He glanced at her and asked.
"I already told you, we’re just ordinary friends, not a couple. Why would I elope with him? If I were to elope, it’d be with you—you’re handsomer, with a better body, more accomplished. Your parents are definitely better than his!" Summer Nolan forced a flattering smile towards this damn man.
Elias Spencer’s lips involuntarily curved at her words. Meanwhile, standing in the lingerie store, Mrs. Spencer slightly raised her eyebrows when she heard her last sentence.
"Not angry anymore?" he asked.
"I wasn’t angry. How could I be mad at you?" she said with a smile.
Suddenly, Mrs. Spencer picked up a white lace bra and a black one, and turned to ask her: "Attorney Nolan, which one do you think looks better?"
