Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!
Chapter 14: Caught—Which Woman Did You Bring Home?
CHAPTER 14: CHAPTER 14: CAUGHT—WHICH WOMAN DID YOU BRING HOME?
Summer Nolan ignored him, suddenly snapped her fingers, and cradling the dog’s head, said, "Miner? Nico? Gold Bar? Tycoon?"
Elias Spencer looked at this woman with an expression of ’disgust and contempt.’ Did she fall into a money pit? All the names she gave the dog were related to money.
Tacky beyond belief!
"Which one do you like? I think if we’re picking, we should go for the richest one—Miner! You need to bless your mommy to become a miner soon and reach the pinnacle of life, understand?
Look at you smiling with that silly grin, you must like this name too, right?" Summer looked at the silly dog and couldn’t help but laugh.
While she was laughing, the man beside her poured cold water on her enthusiasm again: "Don’t give it a random name, it’s tacky."
"Weren’t you against it being called Elias before? Now that I’ve changed its name, you should back off." She glanced at the man beside her.
"It’s my dog, its name is my decision." Elias Spencer took a sip of the coffee from the table, his tone unquestionable.
"It’s my dog too, why should I listen to you? I insist on calling it Miner!" Summer couldn’t be bothered with this domineering man.
"Elias, come here, ignore that terrible woman." He looked at the dog and gestured.
Elias hesitated for a moment, then scooted over, sat between him and Summer, with its long tongue sticking out, looking very pleased, just knowing that both of its owners were accompanying it today.
He called me a terrible woman in front of the dog?
Summer kicked his thigh, and in the next second, her foot was caught by the man, who lightly and deliberately patted her sole.
"Feet itchy again?"
Bullying me again?
Summer was annoyed, angrily pulled her foot back, swung her fist at him, only to have him easily catch her wrist, pinning it down, which made her even more infuriated.
Suddenly using force to pull back, they both lost their balance and fell onto the white leather sofa!
Their lips were very close, almost touching, his breath carrying the bitter aroma of coffee, and his slightly open collar emitted the cool scent she liked the most, which was terribly enticing.
Summer looked at the cold and stern man right in front of her, his scent in her nose, feeling his firm body, her heartbeat uncontrollably quickened.
Suddenly her throat felt tight—
Images of her and him in bed flashed through her mind—
Suddenly, the doorbell rang: "Ding dong... ding dong..."
The sudden, harsh sound brought both of them back to reality. Elias Spencer released her hand, quickly got up from her, stood up, straightened his clothes, and walked to the door.
Summer sat up from the sofa, her face still a bit hot... What was she thinking just now? Thinking about going to bed with a man?
Some day get a gigolo to satisfy the physiological needs! So as not to have any errant thoughts about this annoying man.
At the door, Elias Spencer turned around and asked her, "Do you want someone from the firm to see?"
Prohibiting office romance was his rule, and the assistant couldn’t know about it.
The firm’s people? Could it be his assistant? Summer frowned, feeling inexplicably annoyed.
She stood up with a somber expression and went to the side room, with Elias following her like a little tail, and after she and the dog entered the room, she closed the door.
Outside, Elias Spencer opened the main door, thinking it was the assistant delivering clothes, but it turned out to be his best buddy standing there!
"What brings you here all of a sudden?"
Julian Rivers became even more curious hearing this, craning his neck to scan inside, "Can’t I visit today? Hey, which woman did you bring home? Do I know her?"
"Where would there be a woman here? I’m busy today, you should leave." Elias Spencer said in a low voice, trying to shoo him away.
"Bullshit, you can’t fool me. If there’s no woman here, why have the assistant bring women’s clothes?" He said, waving the bag in his hand.
Elias Spencer looked at the bag in his hand, his brows furrowed slightly—
"Move over, I just want a quick look at her, it won’t cost you anything, why hide her sneakily?" The more Elias didn’t let him see, the more curious Julian Rivers became.
"There’s nothing to see, hurry up and leave." He ordered in a deep voice, propping one arm against the door frame and holding the door with the other.
"Stingy! Alright, I won’t look—just take the clothes..."
Julian Rivers sneered, handing over the bag, and as Elias Spencer reached for it, the man suddenly darted inside like a mad rabbit, and with a triumphant grin, he asked:
"Since you’re hiding so well, that woman must be special, hey, where is she?"
Elias Spencer turned around, casually sticking one hand in his pocket, calmly looking at him, "Since you’re so eager to know, go see her, but don’t regret it."
"Then I will go see her!" His curiosity growing, not finding the person in the living room, he headed straight to the few bedrooms.
Inside the room, hearing their conversation, Summer frowned; if Julian Rivers misunderstood, would he tell others at the firm?
Though he’s Elias’s friend now, their friendship could sink at any moment, then what?
Julian Rivers checked several open bedrooms, found no one, then walked to the one tightly closed side room door, turned the handle, only to find it was locked!
He raised an eyebrow, knocked on the door saying, "Hey beauty, come out and meet me, what’s there to be shy about? I’m very familiar with Elias Spencer, not an outsider, if you don’t come out, I won’t leave."
He won’t leave? I still need to go to Prospera’s boss to sign a contract today...
Summer took a deep breath, decided to take a chance.
Suddenly opened the bedroom door: "Click—!"
Julian Rivers saw Summer standing there, his smile froze on his face. Was he seeing things?
How could it be her?
Summer and the best friend were well-known arch-nemeses in the whole of Stenham!
This couldn’t be real!
But seeing her in the man’s white shirt, with a hint of bath scent, suddenly he felt heartbroken and quite shocked—
Summer waved to him with a smile, "Good morning, Attorney Rivers."
"When did you two get together?" he asked, feeling quite depressed.
"Elias and I broke up two years ago. Last night, I drank too much, so he brought me here."
Summer didn’t want anyone to impact her career, and she couldn’t leave Trisight now, so she had to explain clearly.
Julian Rivers’s mind was somewhat in chaos, utterly shocked... they broke up two years ago?
Really?
As his best friend, how did he not know such a significant thing?
He turned, glanced at the cool man lighting up a cigarette, seeing no rebuttal, he believed it.
"You two are completely unsuited for each other!
If both people in a couple think too much, they’d often fight; happy couples should have one thinker and one who doesn’t.
One excels at cooking, one only knows how to boast, and the non-thinker often worships the thinker, while the thinker just indulges—it’s the perfect match."
