CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: SHOCKED—THIS WOMAN STRIKES BACK FAST!

"Attorney Spencer, I didn’t mean it, I, I can reimburse you for a pair of pants..." the female secretary said to him.

"Don’t make me say it a second time." His tone grew colder.

The female secretary glanced at this man who showed no interest in women, feeling frustrated, angrily left, wondering what was wrong with her looks and figure?

Is he even a normal man?

After the conference room door closed, Summer Nolan couldn’t help but laugh and ask, "Got burned this time?"

"..." Elias Spencer gave her a cold look but said nothing, pulling out a few tissues to wipe his pants. The female staff here was really annoying.

He got harassed multiple times a day. Even when going to the restroom, women would feign bumping into him.

"Why isn’t Attorney Spencer saying anything?"

Summer Nolan crossed her arms, trying hard to suppress her laughter, and deliberately asked again. Seeing his displeased expression made her feel great.

"What, are you looking for trouble again?" Elias Spencer raised his eyes and asked her.

Summer Nolan’s smile froze, she immediately moved further away from this annoying man, sat across, and continued working.

He deserved to get burned!

After work at noon.

Elias Spencer invited her for lunch, but Summer Nolan said she had an appointment with a client.

In reality, she was meeting with the husband of a potential client of his.

According to the attorney’s agreement, lawyers from the same law firm cannot simultaneously represent both the plaintiff and the defendant.

Elias Spencer’s potential client was the plaintiff, and her husband was the defendant, the couple was going through a divorce case.

Summer Nolan arrived more than ten minutes late; the middle-aged man sat with his legs crossed, leaning back on his chair dissatisfiedly, exuding a difficult-to-please boss demeanor.

"Attorney Nolan, I’m not used to waiting for people." Mr. Vaughn glanced sideways at the woman who just sat down and said coldly.

Summer Nolan opened her handbag, unhurriedly took out a pack of ladies’ cigarettes, drew one out, bit it between her lips, lit it, took a shallow puff, and wasn’t in a hurry to respond to him.

"What kind of attitude is this? Am I begging you to sign the contract?" The man’s face darkened further seeing her attitude.

She turned her head with a smile and looked at him,

"Mr. Vaughn doesn’t have to beg me; I don’t lack clients like you, but you might want to think carefully, is there any lawyer in the country who can win against Elias Spencer?

After all, it’s not me who will leave with nothing."

That morning, she had investigated the ins and outs of this case; this man was from the countryside and had married into a wealthy family in Stenham.

At first, his wife liked his handsomeness and ambition, but in recent years, she had resented his aging, not only keeping a man outside but also wanting a divorce and for him to leave with nothing.

Upon hearing her words, the man’s arrogance instantly deflated, and he asked in a much better tone, "Is Attorney Nolan and Attorney Spencer at the same law firm now?"

"Yes." Holding a cigarette between her lips, Summer Nolan poured herself a drink, took a sip, and said, "You can continue to stall for time. Maybe your wife has already approached him to sign up."

"Do you have the contract with you?" He became anxious.

He trusted this woman’s capabilities a lot, having fought many big cases.

Summer Nolan pulled the contract from her handbag, but instead of handing it to him, she extended two slender fingers:

"Twenty million."

"You’re, you’re extorting me!" he exclaimed in shock.

"Mr. Vaughn can find a cheaper lawyer, but you are the live-in son-in-law. The corporation is still your wife’s father’s. You want to seize the corporation and assets, along with the divorce, it won’t be easy to fight." Summer Nolan took a puff from her cigarette, continuing.

The man saw her confidence, hesitated for a while, gritted his teeth, and took her contract -

After signing, Summer Nolan took a photo of the contract and sent it to Renowned Attorney Spencer -

To give him a surprise!

Elias Spencer was dining with a close friend in a restaurant at that time. He had originally planned to sign with Mrs. Vaughn that afternoon, suddenly seeing the photo from Summer Nolan, he laughed -

That morning, he had just snatched a client from her, and she retaliated pretty quickly!

Summer Nolan didn’t expect that Mr. Vaughn’s wife was a formidable character. After work in the afternoon, she had just reached her car when a stunning lady suddenly descended from a luxury car nearby.

She had seen this woman in the law firm, she was Mr. Vaughn’s wife.

Was she here to stir up trouble?

Mrs. Vaughn had waited here for a long time, arms crossed, watching her with a casual smile,

"Attorney Nolan, you know who I am, right?"

Summer Nolan opened her handbag, took out a pack of cigarettes, drew one, lit it, and replied with a smile:

"Of course, does Mrs. Vaughn need something from me?"

Mrs. Vaughn could not tolerate someone being even more arrogant than herself, squinted her eyes, and warned,

"I’ll give you one chance, immediately dissolve the contract with my husband, or I’m afraid you won’t make it to court alive."

"Is Mrs. Vaughn threatening me? Do you know that if assaulting a lawyer leads to minor or severe injuries, it’s punishable by three to ten years in prison?

By then, will you still have a chance to make your husband leave with nothing?" Summer Nolan crossed her arms with one hand, flicking the cigarette ash with the other as she asked.

Mrs. Vaughn, seeing her arrogance, lost patience, smirked viciously at her and said no more, getting into the car.

Just as the car drove off, over a dozen thuggish-looking men walked over from not far away. Without saying a word, they raised their fists and charged at her -

Summer Nolan suddenly flicked the cigarette in her hand at one of them, then suddenly performed a spinning kick, forcefully kicking another man in the chest.

"Ouch..." The stiletto pierced his chest, causing the man to yowl in pain and fall to the ground.

The thug who got burned by the cigarette stood frozen, having thought she was a weak woman, not expecting her to know some self-defense moves!

Not far behind Summer Nolan, Elias Spencer, who was about to help, suddenly saw her kick a man to the ground, feeling quite surprised.

He had known her for so long yet didn’t know this.

Elias Spencer hurried over, and with more ruthless punches and kicks than her, knocked everyone down!

"Get lost!" he spat coldly.

The thugs, seeing his intimidating demeanor, scrambled up and ran away, not daring to linger.

"Thanks." Summer Nolan dusted off her clothes and said to him.

"Let’s see if you dare to snatch clients recklessly again!" Elias Spencer said coldly, poking her at the temple.

"Hm, who told you to snatch my client first?" she huffed coldly.
