CHAPTER 192: CHAPTER 192: JEALOUS—DO YOU WANT TO GET BACK TOGETHER WITH ELIAS SPENCER?
So this is what he’s asking about? Ian Sterling felt a silent joy in his heart, and stated, "Of course, I’m available anytime. It’s just that I’m not sure about Summer’s thoughts..."
Vivian glanced at his delighted expression, a wave of bittersweet emotion uncontrollably washing over her heart. She immediately looked away, reached for the water glass beside her, and drank slowly, eyes lowered.
Masking her unnatural expression.
It seems he really likes my sister—
"I’ll talk to her about it later, but I still haven’t met your parents. What are their thoughts? Should we arrange a meeting?" Mrs. Nolan asked again.
"My father has already agreed. How about we have dinner together tomorrow evening?" Ian hadn’t invested money in Summit yet, but he was confident his parents would agree.
"Alright." For her daughter’s future happiness, she was prepared to personally meet his parents, to see what their personalities were like and how easy they would be to get along with.
Logically, with Ian’s good character and gentle nature, his parents shouldn’t be much different.
Summer isn’t aware that her mom is going to meet Ian’s parents. If she knew, she would definitely stop it right away! Sean Sterling doesn’t know her personally, but he surely knows her mom.
Her mom once went to plead with him in person for her father.
Summer unintentionally stumbled upon that... Sean Sterling actually had an interest in her mom and wanted her to compromise, but mom refused.
Back then, mom was quite beautiful, had an air of elegance, and her lively personality was quite attractive to men.
"Auntie, will Summer be coming over?" Ian asked.
"She said she was a bit tired from work today and won’t be coming over. You should go back and accompany her."
"Alright, by the way, whose bodyguard is outside? Why are they standing at Vivian’s door?" he asked, puzzled.
"It’s Attorney Spencer’s. Summer said she’s worried those troublemakers might come for Vivian again, so she borrowed a bodyguard from him," Mrs. Nolan explained.
Ian nodded with a smile, but inside, he felt uneasy. He was her boyfriend, and the Sterling family also had bodyguards. Why didn’t she tell him about this and instead went to Elias Spencer for help?
Are they still entangled somehow?
-
Summer ordered some light takeout at home, but when the doorbell suddenly rang, she assumed it was the delivery. Opening the door, she found Ian—
"Why are you here?" she asked.
"I’m your boyfriend; do I need a reason to visit you?" Ian looked at her and asked.
Why did his tone seem so sharp and insinuating? Summer felt slightly displeased. She hadn’t offended him, "If there’s nothing important, you should go back. I’m a bit tired today and want to rest."
Looking at her, Ian didn’t have the heart to be angry with her. Not wanting to go back to his own place, he bypassed her and walked in, softening his tone,
"If you’re tired, go rest on the couch. I’ll make dinner for you."
"No need, I’ve already ordered takeout." She turned around and said.
Why does she want to push me away? Ian felt uneasy. Suddenly, he pinned her against the wall beside them, his tone heavy, "Do you want to reconcile with Elias Spencer?"
"How would I want to reconcile with him? Stop overthinking." Summer frowned and glanced at him, trying to move away, but his hands firmly gripped her shoulders, preventing her from pushing him off.
"Then why did you borrow a bodyguard from Elias Spencer? Don’t I have anyone by my side? Why didn’t you come to me when you needed help and went to him instead?" Ian asked angrily, looking at her.
Hearing his words, Summer was stunned. She didn’t trust the Sterling family’s bodyguards that much... If he cares so much, she had to offer a solution.
Did he see the bodyguards at the hospital or the one with my mom?
"Alright, alright, I’ll let Elias Spencer’s bodyguard leave, and you can send someone over, okay?"
"I want you to cut ties cleanly with Elias Spencer and not be entangled with him any more," Ian said to her again.
"Okay." Summer nodded.
He initially wanted to tell her that both families’ parents would be having dinner tomorrow night, to discuss the wedding date. But he was afraid she’d be unwilling if she found out... It was better to bring her directly tomorrow night.
"Can you let go of me now?" Summer asked.
"I don’t want to..." Ian said, lowering his head, intending to kiss her, but she suddenly turned her face away. "I’m tired, and you said you’d never force me."
"Do you really want to be with me?" he asked, frowning.
"Of course I do." She could only reply.
"Then why are you unwilling to have any intimacy with me? It’s not fair to me; I feel like a fake boyfriend with no sense of security at all..." Ian complained intentionally.
"I can’t be intimate right now. We haven’t been together for long, and I haven’t been separated from Elias Spencer for long either."
He could tell that in the short term, she definitely didn’t want to marry him. Luckily, he hadn’t told her about the parents’ meeting tomorrow night.
Tomorrow night, they could discuss the wedding date. Tonight, he didn’t want to upset her. Ian released her and in an intentionally pitiful tone asked again,
"Should I make dinner for you? I haven’t eaten yet either..."
"Then you can cook, something light." Unable to stand his tone, she could only let him stay, hoping she could hold herself back during the meal and not throw up.
"Why do you suddenly want something light?" he pinched her face and curiously asked.
"Probably... just a little cold." She had no choice but to lie.
"Have you taken medicine? Do you have any on hand? If not, I’ll get some from my place..." Ian said, feeling her forehead, which was normal. Just a packet of dissolvable medicine should suffice.
"I’ve taken some, let’s go, cook dinner, I’ll help you." Summer didn’t want to leave him to it alone and dragged him to the kitchen.
Ian was eager to cook with her and did not refuse...
-
At Raymond Dawson’s villa.
He only found out when he was shopping that afternoon that all his funds had been frozen. It must have been that damn Summer who did it!
He initially planned to transfer the money out and secretly sell the villa, but now even that couldn’t be done.
After work, he returned to the villa. Seeing his wife, who was sitting on the sofa and as fat as a pig, he compared her to the young and well-shaped Iris Lynn, which made him feel even more disgusted.
He couldn’t help but endure it and walked to the sofa, trying to coax her,
"You spent two hundred million to pursue a lawsuit against Summer? Don’t you realize that’s our hard-earned money for our old age and to raise our children?
I’ve worked hard for decades to save up this bit of money, and you gave it away without batting an eye?"
Mrs. Dawson turned her head to look at him, snorting coldly, "You’re the one who insisted on fooling around with that little vixen. I gave you a chance, and now you feel sorry for the money?"
"Withdraw the lawsuit, and I’ll break up with Iris Lynn. We can then live a good life as a family."
Raymond Dawson endured his disgust and sat beside her, wrapping his arms around her water-barrel-like waist. The soft and flabby flesh made him sick the moment he touched it.
"Alright then, break her hands and slash her face, and I’ll believe you," Mrs. Dawson said as she looked at him.
"Isn’t that too cruel? Besides, I’d be legally responsible for that!" Iris Lynn was already injured, and he couldn’t bear to see her harmed further.
"You can always find someone else to do it," she snorted coldly and said.
