CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: PERSONALLY SATISFYING HER PHYSICAL NEEDS...

"Tomorrow is Saturday," Summer Nolan glanced at him.

"I’ll call Mr. Forest, and he’ll send someone over," he said before returning to the conference room and sitting in his usual spot.

He took out a cigarette, lit one, and took a lazy, indifferent puff. His eyes fell on the mountain of contracts, reports, and past legal case files piled on the conference table, but he wasn’t in the mood to work overtime.

The merger of the two listed companies would take at least five months, there was no rush.

During the days she was hospitalized, he was mostly handling other cases at the law firm. Litigating was much easier than dealing with merger cases.

Summer Nolan entered the conference room, sat down, ignored the aloof man across from her, opened her laptop, and continued reviewing the contracts—

She couldn’t leave even if she wanted to now.

Elias Spencer’s gaze fell on her. Her slightly lowered eyelashes trembled, and the dark circles under her eyes were particularly noticeable under the cold fluorescent light.

Her slender fingers tapped rapidly on the keyboard, as if she were stepping on a wind-fire wheel.

Though she looked exhausted, she was full of energy.

He used to only know that this woman was very assertive in the workplace. It wasn’t until working with her that he realized she was a workaholic who, because of one word from him, would work overtime tirelessly.

As Summer flipped through the contracts, the sharp edge of a paper suddenly sliced her fingertip. The wound wasn’t big, but bright red blood oozed out.

She frowned, habitually flicking her hand. In her understanding, flicking an injured spot would numb it, so it wouldn’t hurt anymore.

"Stop the bleeding, why flick it?"

Elias Spencer said sternly. He stood up, pulled a few tissues, walked over, took her injured finger, wrapped it in the paper, and pressed on the wound.

Summer Nolan looked up at him, unintentionally recalling the past, when she was trying to please him. While cooking at his house, she accidentally cut her hand and would wave her hand crazily, calling his name:

"Elias Spencer! Elias Spencer!"

He would come out from the room, see her injured hand, and while making biting remarks, would immediately pull tissues to press on her wound.

"You’re so clumsy. Who waves a wounded hand like that? Are you unhappy with it being injured, or do you want to fling all the blood out?"

"You don’t understand, if you wave it until it’s numb, it won’t hurt anymore. Try it yourself someday if you don’t believe me."

Elias Spencer didn’t accept her absurd theory. He glanced at her hand, noting that the wound was quite deep as the blood quickly soaked through the tissue. He commanded sternly,

"You’re not allowed to cook anymore!"

"So will you agree to take care of that little puppy? Didn’t you see its expectant and pitiful eyes when it looked at us? It’s so pitiable.

I’ve always wanted a pet since I was a child, but my mom is allergic to pet fur..." She shook his shirt with her other hand.

Elias Spencer had a cleanliness fetish and didn’t particularly like pets but eventually compromised with her persistence—

Thrown back to the present, Summer realized what had happened. He said sternly, "Don’t do it."

"You mean stop working, or stop doing you?" She tossed the neatly wrapped tissue from her finger, the bleeding having stopped, and said with a cold smile as she continued her work.

In an instant, he coldly snatched the file in front of her and threw it aside.

She frowned, stood up abruptly with her arms crossed over her chest, and stared at him displeased, "Do you want me to work on you that much?"

"Why don’t you give it a try?"

Elias Spencer’s indifferent tone carried a hint of provocation. Summer silently gnashed her teeth. Was he underestimating her?

Suddenly, she hooked her arm around his neck and kissed his warm, tobacco-flavored lips, perhaps her teeth were really sharp as they easily drew blood—

Would she not try it?

Was she afraid of him?

A trace of metallic sweetness filled their mouths, and as she was about to pull away, he suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist, turned, and pressed her onto the conference table.

Looking down at her like an eagle staring at a chick clutched in its talons.

Summer was uncomfortable with his gaze, even more so with his restraint. She struggled and angrily shouted at him, "Do you have the guts to let me go!"

Wasn’t she the one who provoked him first?

And now she wants him to let go?

Elias Spencer easily pinned both of her hands above her head with one hand, and the other hand wandered onto her fine legs covered in black stockings, slowly moving upward, tingling sensations spreading where his hand touched, causing her fingertips to tremble uncontrollably.

Summer felt extremely embarrassed, was this not toying with her?

"I just bit you; do you have enough yet?"

Suddenly, his big hand stopped at her soft rib—

"Attorney Nolan, aren’t you upset about not having ’fun’ last night? Do you want my help?" Elias Spencer raised an eyebrow, seemingly asking, but before she could agree, her stockings were already easily torn by him.

Summer uncontrollably let out a muffled moan, staring in disbelief at the man over her!

Gritting her teeth, she snapped, "Elias Spencer, what are you doing?"

"Don’t you really want a man to do you?" he asked coldly as he looked at her.

"Does it matter to you what I want? Get off!"

Pinned on the conference table, Summer’s breathing involuntarily became heavier as she struggled with the ultimate reaction of her body and her own embarrassment, her face burning like a monkey’s butt.

Attempting to kick him proved futile given the disparity in their physical strength.

This damn man!

Why does it concern him if she wants to be with other men?

He slept with his assistant, and she didn’t go and make trouble for him, right?

Even thinking about it made Summer angry, yet under his teasing, she suddenly let out an uncontrollable cry—

More than half an hour later,

Having tidied her clothes, Summer slammed the files from the table at him, only for him to easily catch her wrist, snatch the files from her hand, and toss them back on the table.

"Done and not acknowledging it?" Elias Spencer held her wrist and raised an eyebrow at her questioningly.

"Who was pleased?" She was embarrassed, not admitting, and kicked him in the leg.

"If you weren’t pleased, then why did you make noise?" he asked.

"I would like to know what Attorney Spencer’s actions just now meant. You slept with your assistant, and now you’re bothering me? What am I to you, a mistress?" she asked with a biting tone while grinding her teeth.

Elias Spencer sat in a nearby chair, crossed his long legs, and lazily asked, "Who said I slept with her?"

"The dog said so," she huffed with her arms crossed.

"Couldn’t tell it was to deliberately upset you that day?"

Summer froze, shock washing over her face... Was that really to upset me? Because I left that night ignoring him?

The weight on her heart involuntarily eased—she glanced at him and pouted, "Even if you didn’t sleep with her, what gives you the right to touch me? We’re already broken up."

"... I just saw that you couldn’t find another man and felt sorry for you," he shot back with a bitter tongue, then added,

"Besides, weren’t you the one who provoked me first?"

The impact of his words was strong, nearly causing Summer to cough up blood. She silently took a deep breath to calm down.

"Heh, rest assured, Attorney Spencer, I will definitely find a boyfriend who is in better shape, more handsome, and even more outstanding than you, I don’t need you to deal with my needs!"
