Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!
Chapter 46: Alright, Be Good, Don’t Be Mad Anymore
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: ALRIGHT, BE GOOD, DON’T BE MAD ANYMORE
"I forgot!"
Summer Nolan truly forgot. Just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. She picked it up and saw it was Elias Spencer.
"You should go get your beauty sleep, I need to take a work call." She took the opportunity to push her mom out, not wanting to be interrogated further.
After closing the door, she directly hung up on him.
She didn’t want to answer.
Calling her this late, wouldn’t his girlfriend be jealous?
After a while, the phone rang again. She hung up again and directly turned off her phone.
What she didn’t know was that Elias Spencer had just been cut on the arm by ten or so thugs sent by Ethan Quinn. He was calling her to come and bandage his wound, but she didn’t even answer the call.
And then she turned off her phone.
Elias Spencer’s face paled slightly as he smiled, putting the phone back in his pocket.
The bodyguard saw the bloodstain on his arm and walked over with concern, "Young Master Spencer, shall I take you to the hospital to treat the wound?"
"Mm." He gave a low response, glanced down at the thugs on the ground crying in pain, and stepped on one of their chests, coldly asking:
"Where is Ethan Quinn now?"
"We really don’t know," the man replied fearfully.
"Scram." He coldly spat out a word, and the thugs scrambled away in a hurry.
After getting in the car, the bodyguard immediately drove to the nearest hospital. The man sitting in the back glanced at his right arm; it still hurt quite a bit.
The blood was still gushing, soaking through two layers of sleeves, but he calmly pulled out a cigarette and lit it—
"You know how to teach him a lesson, right?" Elias Spencer exhaled a puff of smoke, cold eyes slightly narrowed as he asked, not afraid to bear the consequences of offending the Quinn Family.
So let’s see if they can bear the consequences of offending him.
"Rest assured, Young Master Spencer, we know what to do." The bodyguard replied.
The next morning.
Summer Nolan arrived at the Summit meeting room and didn’t see that man after coming in but didn’t bother with him.
After working for about an hour, the meeting room door finally opened, and she saw the man walk in. She purposely said:
"Attorney Spencer, please pay attention to work hours. You also received half the agency fee."
Elias Spencer looked cold and didn’t speak. He walked to his seat, took off his coat, and hung it on the back of the chair. Wearing too much would irritate the wound.
Seeing him with his cold demeanor again, she didn’t say anything. When he doesn’t want to talk, even if you say a hundred lines, he won’t respond.
Unless you manage to provoke him.
Elias Spencer picked up his cup and went to the break room to get a cup of hot water. A pretty female secretary standing inside saw him and her eyes immediately lit up as she approached him and asked:
"Attorney Spencer, would you like some coffee? I can make you a cup?"
"No need." He responded coldly with two words.
"Then what would you like to drink?" The female secretary eagerly asked, wanting to flirt with him. After all, he wasn’t her boss, so she wasn’t afraid of getting fired.
What if she succeeded? She heard that this man had a lot of money.
Elias Spencer didn’t even look at her and walked over to the water dispenser. He filled a cup with warm water and was about to leave when the female secretary hurried over to grab the cup:
"Attorney Spencer, be careful. This water is hot. Let me carry it back on a tray for you."
As she struggled to grab it, the glass suddenly fell to the ground, "Bang!"
Water and glass shards splattered all over the floor. The female secretary, feeling very apologetic, grabbed his arm tightly: "I’m sorry... I didn’t mean it! Can I pour you another cup?"
Elias Spencer frowned and turned to look at his right arm. The wound had started bleeding again from her grip, staining the white shirt with red.
The female secretary felt something wet in her hand, looked down, and immediately let go in shock: "Attorney Spencer, you’re hurt?"
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to squeeze your wound." She quickly apologized.
Elias Spencer looked at her coldly, retrieved another glass from the sterilizer, filled it with hot water, and left, not wanting to converse with a lovestruck woman.
On his way back to the meeting room, he made a call to the bodyguard downstairs, asking him to buy some medication and bring it up.
The meeting room door opened again, and Summer Nolan turned her head, giving him a casual glance, just about to look away when she suddenly noticed the red on his right sleeve—
Was that... blood?
"Did you hurt your arm just by stepping out to get some water?" She asked.
Elias Spencer didn’t speak, sat down, and rolled up his shirt sleeve. The bandage had also become thoroughly soaked, and he hadn’t yet bought anything to stop the bleeding. It wasn’t time to remove the bandage.
Seeing his arm seemed severely injured, Summer Nolan frowned, wondering when this had happened. This man could fight pretty well, so who managed to injure him?
Seeing him injured, she couldn’t bear to treat him coldly. She pulled a few tissues and walked over, "Press this on it for now. I’ll go buy you some medication."
Elias Spencer coldly waved her hand away, not needing her concern.
"...Then I’ll go out to buy some medicine for you." Summer Nolan said, about to leave when he finally spoke, "No need for Attorney Nolan’s feigned kindness."
She understood; he was angry that she hadn’t answered his call last night and even turned off her phone?
Wait, did he call last night because he was injured?
As Summer Nolan was speculating, a knock sounded, and the meeting room door was opened. The bodyguard walked over with a bag of medicine, seeing the blood on his bandage, and voiced concern:
"Young Master Spencer, maybe you shouldn’t work today. What if the wound opens up again?"
"It’s fine. Just unwrap it," Elias Spencer said, still not that fragile. It was just a cut on the arm, not like he couldn’t get out of bed.
"Huh? Me? Oh, yes..." The bodyguard hesitated, fearing he might hurt him further. He wasn’t skilled in wound dressing either. He put the items down and clumsily went to unwrap the bandage.
Summer Nolan immediately walked over and said, "Let me do it."
The bodyguard glanced at Young Master Spencer and seeing no orders to the contrary, didn’t step aside: "No need, I’ll do it."
"Who exactly injured him?" She asked the bodyguard.
The bodyguard, unaware of the details, knew she was someone Young Master Spencer cared about and naturally didn’t dare to be impolite.
"It was people sent by Ethan Quinn. Young Master Spencer doesn’t seem familiar with him. Why would that man send so many to deal with him?"
Summer Nolan felt immediate guilt upon hearing this. Had it not been for the other night when he saved her and taught Ethan Quinn a lesson, that man wouldn’t have retaliated against Elias Spencer—
And she hadn’t even answered his call last night.
No wonder he’s angry today.
If she had known about what happened last night, she definitely wouldn’t have ignored him.
Summer Nolan looked at the five or six centimeters long bloody gash on his arm, feeling very regretful.
She directly pulled the bodyguard aside, "Your hands are heavy, let me do it."
"Attorney Nolan, go back to your work," Elias Spencer said, moving his hand away, not letting her touch him.
Summer Nolan grabbed his hand, lightly coughed, and had to coo him softly, "Okay, come on, don’t be mad. Let’s take care of the wound first, okay?"
