CHAPTER 48: CHAPTER 48: WHO HAS SUMMER NOLAN EVER BEEN AFRAID OF?

As the two of them went upstairs, Elias Spencer used his fingerprint to unlock the door, and the moment it opened, Elias, who had been waiting at the door, seemed to catch her scent and immediately bounced out with excitement.

Its tail wagged more vigorously than usual, and it stood up to pounce on Summer Nolan.

"Good boy, calm down, I missed you too!" She cupped its dog head and rubbed it a few times, then asked the man beside her, "How’s its leg injury, better now?"

"Recovered so quickly?" Elias Spencer was a bit jealous seeing how enthusiastic Elias was towards her. Distance does make the heart grow fonder.

After all, he brushed its fur every day and fed it, but it wasn’t this affectionate with him.

"Don’t get too excited now, let’s go inside." Summer Nolan lowered its two front paws and when they went into the house, she noticed it was still limping, making her heart ache.

Standing to the side, Elias Spencer looked at the dog, exasperated, as it had walked normally yesterday. Now it was limping again?

The exaggerated limp made it seem like it would fall over any moment. Was it pretending?

This little guy’s a bit of a drama queen—Elias Spencer didn’t expose it.

Summer Nolan went to the dog house first, dumped a whole bag of beef bits into the dog bowl, added two large scoops of nutritional powder, dehydrated vegetables, imported dog food, and other things.

Since money wasn’t an issue, Elias ate well and had grown robustly, with muscles bulging.

After feeding the dog, she went out to ask the man, "What do you want for dinner?"

"Anything," he replied.

Summer Nolan walked to the refrigerator, opened it; there were various fresh vegetables and boxed fresh meat inside, everything seemed quite complete.

Since he was injured, it’s best to make some soup... Eating well helps wounds heal faster.

She took out a box of cut-up chicken, noticed there were mushrooms in the fridge, and took them out as well. She had tried mushroom chicken soup before, seemed pretty simple.

Elias Spencer sat on the sofa, watching her in her professional attire in the open Western-style kitchen, sometimes splashing water everywhere while washing vegetables, sometimes dropping a plate, and occasionally sniffing her hands in disgust...

Watching her in such a fluster was quite entertaining.

While washing the chicken, Summer Nolan got grease all over her hands, slippery and greasy, indeed unpleasant.

She casually grabbed a large pot, tossed in the washed items, added water, salt, lit the fire, yep, all set in one go, quite simple!

"Just soup and rice for one, that should be enough, right?" She looked at the ’big boss’ lounging on the sofa and asked.

"I usually have four dishes and a soup." Elias Spencer simply wanted to see her fumbling around in the kitchen.

"Fine, fine... four dishes and a soup, easy..."

Summer Nolan snapped her fingers confidently at him, rummaged through the fridge again, took out boxes of beef, ribs, and shrimp, and grabbed a small pumpkin.

Seeing her take out so many complicated ingredients, Elias Spencer raised his eyebrow in surprise, had she been practicing cooking?

Could she really cook?

Summer Nolan painstakingly washed everything, didn’t cut them, just dumped them all into the chicken soup pot!

"What are you doing?" Elias Spencer couldn’t help but stand up and ask.

"Cooking, I saw on a video this is how it’s done, as long as the pot’s big enough, I can make you a feast." She said.

Elias Spencer thought she had been practicing her culinary skills, turns out this was her cooking method—it was like preparing pig slop, was that edible?

"Come wash me up, I can’t get my hand wet." He coolly said and went to the master bedroom.

Summer Nolan stood there in shock, blinking... What did he just say? Wash him up? Is that something an ex-girlfriend should do?

Wasn’t he afraid of Iris Lynn finding out?

Oh, with someone like Iris, who’s so obedient, even if she found out, she probably wouldn’t do anything to him, that kind of submissive personality, she really couldn’t imitate.

At the door, Elias Spencer, seeing she hadn’t followed, stopped and turned around, coldly urging her, "If Attorney Nolan doesn’t want to repay me, you can leave now instead of dawdling here."

Dawdling? Was Summer Nolan afraid of anyone?

He’s the one being seen, she wasn’t at a loss! She threw off her coat onto the sofa, rolled up her white shirt sleeves, and walked in.

In the bedroom, Elias Spencer took off his clothes, the once confidently striding Summer Nolan, saw him strip completely while his back faced her.

She swiftly averted her gaze, blushing and heart racing shamefully.

After all, it’s been two years apart, seeing him like this now felt a bit criminal, awkward, and unnatural, like sneaking around.

Elias Spencer, stark naked, walked past her into the bathroom.

Summer Nolan stood there stunned!!!

Unwittingly swallowed, hearing the water start running in the bathroom, her mind replayed the scene of him walking past her—

One thing in her mind kept amplifying—

Her chest rose and fell rapidly, breathing all out of rhythm.

"How does he manage to be so composed, so nonchalant?"

"No feelings for me anymore, doesn’t see me as a woman?" Summer Nolan muttered with a pout. After some mental pep talks outside, she finally forced herself to go in.

The man was already lying in the round bathtub, the water clear.

His figure tall and lean, skin pale yet healthy, a classic inverted triangle physique, with a thin layer of muscle covering his chest, exuding strength, he wasn’t the burly type.

Still, no one could ignore the aura of power emanating from him.

Summer Nolan’s gaze involuntarily swept over him again, quickly looked away, trying hard to calm her erratically beating heart, don’t think, don’t think—

Can’t lose face.

"My shoulders and neck are a bit sore today, give me a massage." Lying in the tub, Elias Spencer lazily spoke with his eyes partially closed.

"Could you be more indulgent? You want a massage too?" She crossed her arms, mockingly asking, feeling like she could just strangle him.

"No nonsense." He said, eyes shut, quietly uttering three words, his injured arm hanging outside the tub, comfortably lounging and waiting for her to serve him.

Summer Nolan glared at him, teeth clenched, after taking several deep breaths, squatted down, gritting her molars, placing her hands on his broad shoulders.

Like a maid, she struggled to knead those broad shoulders!!!

Elias Spencer, just you wait until your injury heals, I’ll see how I ignore you! Summer Nolan glared at his handsome face, seething.

In her mind, envisioning all sorts of scenes bullying this aloof man—

Wanting to pin him down and bully harshly.

Picturing him pathetically begging for mercy—

"Massage harder, haven’t eaten?" Elias Spencer suddenly spoke, pulling her back to reality from her fantasies, she hadn’t eaten yet anyway, she grumbled with a cold huff:

"I think you need a spanking, not a massage!"

Elias Spencer heard her words, his lips curled up slightly unnoticed, "If you want to spank me, just say it, maybe I’ll be generous enough to oblige."
