CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: ATTORNEY SPENCER PERSONALLY BREAKS UP THE LOVERS!

"...Yeah, I just want to be with him, so what? An ex-boyfriend, meddling quite a lot."

Summer Nolan chuckled, that bit of laughter crashed into Elias Spencer’s eyes, instantly freezing into frost.

Being stared at by this man, she felt uneasy and was about to get off him when he suddenly turned around and pressed her onto the sofa!

Summer Nolan pushed him hard, "What are you doing? Get off..."

Elias Spencer suddenly stretched out his hand, his fingertip sliding from her bright and fair face to behind her ear, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

The action seemed gentle, but his fingers carried a controlled strength, making Summer Nolan instinctively shrink her neck.

He stared at the woman beneath him with cold, domineering eyes, and uttered two more words: "Not allowed."

Summer Nolan always knew he was domineering, but she never expected him to be this overbearing!

They had broken up for more than two years, yet he still wouldn’t allow her to get close to other men? How unreasonable...

Why, is it only permissible for officials to set fires, while the common people can’t even light a lantern?

"Ring ring——" Her phone suddenly rang. She angrily pushed him, "It must be my mom calling me back, aren’t you getting up yet?"

Elias Spencer looked at her and had to get off her. Summer Nolan took out her phone from her bag beside her, glanced at the flashing number on the screen, and paused.

It was Ian Sterling...

Better not let this domineering man know.

"Why aren’t you answering?" Elias Spencer silently noted the panic flashing across her face.

"I don’t want my mom to know I’m still here with you, I’m leaving." Summer Nolan hung up, grabbed her bag, and was about to go when her hand was suddenly grabbed by him:

"Help me change the dressing first."

She frowned slightly, her fingers swiftly tapping on the screen to mute the ring, and placed it face down on the coffee table, then went to get the first aid kit.

She quickly applied medicine to this unruly man, bandaging him, not as gently as she had the previous night—

Elias Spencer watched her anxious demeanor with more suspicion; the person calling her wasn’t her mother, right?

"Done with the bandaging." With that, she picked up her belongings and left. After exiting the room and entering the elevator, she took out her phone. Ian Sterling had called again earlier, thankfully it was on silent.

She redialed and asked, "What’s the matter?"

"Summer Nolan, can you come pick me up? I had a bit too much to drink at tonight’s event." Ian Sterling’s voice, tinged with tipsiness, asked from inside a private room.

Summer Nolan really wanted to say, don’t you have assistants and bodyguards?

"Send me the location."

"Sure." Ian Sterling only asked on a whim, not expecting her to agree, which made him extremely pleased. He immediately sent her the name of the nightclub and the room number.

With no traffic in the evening, she arrived at the place half an hour later.

When she pushed open the door to the private room, a strong smell of smoke and alcohol hit her face, and there were quite a few plump, big-bellied bosses sitting inside.

Each of them had a pretty girl by their side.

Only Ian Sterling in the middle of the sofa had no woman by his side.

A group of bosses saw Summer Nolan walk to Mr. Sterling’s side and jokingly asked, "Isn’t this Attorney Nolan? Could it be that Mr. Sterling and Attorney Nolan are a couple?"

"Don’t joke around, Attorney Nolan is my friend." Ian Sterling told them.

"Since Attorney Nolan is here, have a few drinks before leaving?" A boss poured a glass and handed it to her.

"I’m here to pick him up. It’s not good to drive after drinking, sorry." Summer Nolan gave a polite smile, detesting social engagements.

Ian Sterling took the glass from that boss, unhappily tossed it on the table, and said, "She’s not here to drink with you guys, we’ll be leaving; you all enjoy yourself."

With that, he grasped Summer Nolan’s hand, walking out with somewhat unsteady steps.

Once outside the nightclub, Ian Sterling rubbed his forehead with one hand and suddenly said:

"Walk with me for a bit? I’m a bit dizzy and want to get some fresh air. It would be great to have a cold drink right now."

"You’re so fussy," Summer Nolan remarked, but still walked with him down the road, and surprisingly there was a bubble tea shop ahead.

The city was quieter and more beautiful at night than during the day, with neon lights of various colors making the view, bringing a sense of peace to the heart.

Ian Sterling looked at the woman beside him, arms crossed, quietly walking next to him, his heart racing uncontrollably—was this the feeling of being moved?

So this is how it feels to like someone.

In the car not far behind them, a lighter spun three times in the man’s fingertips, a flame "poofed" up and then extinguished.

His eyes were fixed on the two walking figures, his fingers methodically rubbing the lighter, casting shadows under his eyelashes, his cold eyes narrowing slightly.

As expected, she came to see that man again—

After hesitating for a moment, he opened the car door and walked over!!

In front, Summer Nolan bought two cold drinks, handing one to Ian Sterling: "Here you go, can we head back now? I have to work tomorrow."

Ian Sterling still wanted to walk with her a bit longer, but just as he was about to speak, a male voice suddenly came from behind: "What a coincidence? Young Master Sterling, you’re here too?"

The two turned around, and Summer Nolan watched the approaching man, silently pursing her lips, was it really a coincidence? Could he have secretly followed me?

"Young Master Spencer, also out for socializing tonight?" Ian Sterling didn’t suspect him, assuming it was just a coincidental meeting.

"Just out to buy something, the car broke down, saw you guys here and thought I’d hitch a ride." Elias Spencer lied easily.

Ian Sterling, hearing his words, couldn’t say much; after all, he wasn’t the one driving.

"You could take a cab." Summer Nolan knew he was lying but didn’t dare to expose him, what if he suddenly claimed there was something between them?

"Not used to it, I won’t waste too much of Attorney Nolan’s time, let’s go." Elias Spencer pressed down his anger and in a deep voice, headed towards her car.

The two behind had no choice but to follow.

As soon as the car unlocked, he got into the front passenger seat.

Ian Sterling was left to sit alone in the back—Summer Nolan glanced at the man beside her, full of suppressed anger, and drove off.

"Where does Young Master Sterling live?" Elias Spencer asked.

"Brighton Manor." His dad called him, asking him to come back home; probably that little girl reported him to his parents.

Elias Spencer, legs crossed leaned back in the seat, lit a cigarette, his cold eyes narrowing slightly in the smoke, spoke in a deep voice to the woman driving,

"Drop off Young Master Sterling first."

Summer Nolan glanced at him, reluctantly—

All three in the car remained silent, the oppressive atmosphere suffocating enough to choke someone, Summer Nolan disliked this feeling, silently slammed the gas pedal.

Ian Sterling saw the man sitting in the front passenger seat, feeling a bit annoyed, does he want to pursue this woman too?

But aren’t they arch-rivals, not getting along?

He heard that since Summer Nolan became a partner at Trisight, both of them fought over cases fiercely, arguing till their faces were red.

It must be his imagination, this man couldn’t be pursuing her, and they couldn’t be together.

-

Brighton Manor, it was almost eleven, yet the lights inside were still bright.

The heavily Chinese-styled living room, dominated with grandeur and stability, imposing just at a glance.

"Back?"

Sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper, Sean Sterling glanced at his son who walked in, his tone was deep and somber as he asked.
