CHAPTER 77: CHAPTER 77: BOTH PROSPECTIVE SONS-IN-LAW ACTUALLY CAME HOME!

At noon, Elias had a social engagement and forgot about Summer.

In the afternoon, he had to appear in court, and by the time he got out, it was already past four o’clock.

Only then did he remember that the woman was still tied up at home.

He immediately went to a high-end restaurant to pack a sumptuous dinner.

In the afternoon, Summer turned again to glance out of the floor-to-ceiling window. The sun was setting, and the sky was tinged with red clouds, probably around six o’clock.

"That dog of a man, he didn’t even think to bring me food at noon!!!"

"And to think I fed him!!"

The more Summer thought about it, the angrier she got, her eyes misting up, her throat choking as if it were stuffed with a stone.

She’s really been too good to him.

Look at how he treats her?

As she was angrily thinking this, she suddenly heard the sound of the door opening... that wretched man was finally back?

She was sensitive enough to smell the aroma of food, probably because she was too hungry, her parched throat couldn’t help but swallow, and her stomach growled uncontrollably:

"Grr... grr..."

"Hmph, bastard." She silently snorted coldly.

The bedroom door pushed open, and Elias saw the woman lying obediently on the bed, placing the lunch on the coffee table by the floor-to-ceiling window.

He opened them one by one: there were salt and pepper ribs, stir-fried shredded beef, steamed fish, Australian lobster, and a fragrant chicken soup.

Then he walked to the bed and looked at her, asking, "Do you want to eat something?"

"You want me to beg you again, don’t you?" She looked at him and laughed.

"Can you do what you said last night?"

Elias no longer made her beg him, knowing she was just as stubborn as he was, preferring to starve than to ask.

Summer gritted her teeth and glared at him, now just wanting to flaunt her affection with Ian and infuriate this bastard—

Damn it, who’s she involved with, what business is it of his?

"If you can’t do it, I don’t mind leaving you in bed." Elias said coolly, seriously, as if it were no joke.

"Hmm." She replied heavily.

"What does ’hmm’ mean?"

"I can do it!" Summer huffed coldly, no matter what, she wanted her freedom back first; lying down was unbearable.

She remembered this score, and that damned man would have to pay!

"You better not trick me." Elias said blandly as he untied the ropes from her hands and feet, "Go wash up and come eat something."

Summer didn’t say a word to him, silently moving her wrists, then rubbing her ankles where the rope had left marks, got out of bed, and took her black suit from the clothes rack to put it on.

Without washing up, she headed straight to the door, not wanting to stay here a moment longer.

Elias frowned, stepped over, and grasped her arm, his tone softening a bit, "Go wash up, eat something..."

Summer flung his hand away, smiling, "No need, I have money to buy my own, and in the future, Attorney Spencer, please stay away from me."

As she spoke, about to leave, he suddenly yanked her back, "What do you want?!" she snapped angrily.

Elias knew she was really angry now, but hadn’t she tied him up too? He said to her in a low voice, "How about we call it even for this?"

Summer agreed readily, "Fine, I won’t trouble you again or take revenge on you. From now on, you take your path, and I’ll take mine, and we’ll have nothing to do with each other."

Elias hearing her words, his brows furrowed tightly—

She flung his hand away, ready to leave, only to be suddenly pulled back, bumping into his hard chest!

Summer rubbed her forehead, angry, suppressing her fury, raising her cold eyes to ask, "Is there anything else, Attorney Spencer?"

Elias forcibly led her to the washroom, squeezed toothpaste for her, and prepared water, "Wash up, we’ll eat together afterward, and then we’ll take Elias for a walk..."

Summer found it ridiculous how he just infuriated her, and then wanted her to pretend nothing happened, happily dining and walking the dog with him?

She turned around and walked right out, leaving the place.

Returning home, as soon as she walked into the living room, she saw Ian actually sitting on her sofa!

Somewhat surprised, she walked over and asked, "What brings you here?"

"Your phone’s been off since last night until now, I was worried, so I came to check on you," Ian said, standing up from the sofa, relieved to see her back safe.

"Oh, I was at a friend’s house last night, and there was a minor issue with my phone, but it’s fixed now," Summer lied to him.

She couldn’t let him know she had been at Elias’s house.

"As long as you’re okay, I’ll head off then; I don’t want to intrude." Ian was about to leave, when Mrs. Nolan asked suddenly:

"Would you like to stay for a simple meal before you go?"

The last time, when suddenly introduced a fiancée, Mrs. Nolan’s impression of him dropped a few points, but he just explained earlier that he wouldn’t agree to the family’s arranged marriage.

In any case, the pond is still empty, might as well keep him for now.

Who knows who Summer will choose in the future? Ian or Attorney Spencer?

"Is it convenient?" Ian asked.

"It is, the maid has already prepared it," said Mrs. Nolan.

She couldn’t cook herself, and her daughter had hired a live-out maid who came by for lunch and dinner, also doing a bit of cleaning.

"In that case, I won’t hold back." Being too distant would seem standoffish, after all, this was the first time he’d been so forward and thick-skinned.

"Have a seat, I’ll go change clothes," Summer told him, not blaming her mom for keeping him.

Elias doesn’t want her interacting with him, so she’ll do it on purpose.

Just to piss him off, hmph!

She went to her room, first plugging in her phone to charge, then taking a set of loungewear to the bathroom, feeling uncomfortable for not having freshened up all day.

Not long after Summer went in, the doorbell rang again.

Mrs. Nolan, casually chatting with Ian, had to get up to answer the door, suddenly seeing Attorney Spencer standing outside, she smiled awkwardly—

When these two meet, will both ’fish’ fly out of the pond?

"Does Attorney Spencer have business here?" Mrs. Nolan felt more awkward and tense than her daughter; it turns out being the owner of the fish pond isn’t easy.

"I came to bring Summer dinner, has Auntie eaten?" Elias was holding a high-end boutique bag, filled with food he packed from a high-end restaurant.

Well, one comes for care and concern, and another to deliver dinner to that girl... thought she didn’t have any men after all, and now two have shown up!

"Not yet, would Attorney Spencer like to come in and sit?" Mrs. Nolan asked politely, taking the bag he handed over, thinking perhaps he wouldn’t enter.

Sitting inside, Ian suddenly hearing Young Master Spencer’s voice, slightly raised an eyebrow... why did he suddenly come to bring Summer dinner?

Being so concerned for her... could it be he’s also pursuing her?

No wonder that man was pointing out her flaws to him during the day, hoping to deter him—

"Is it convenient?" asked Elias.

Mrs. Nolan pulled the corner of her mouth, having no choice but to reply, "... It’s convenient, come in and have a seat."

Elias walked in only to be surprised to see another man sitting on the sofa!

Why was he here too?
