Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!
Chapter 9: Is Attorney Nolan Jealous?
CHAPTER 9: CHAPTER 9: IS ATTORNEY NOLAN JEALOUS?
Isn’t it rumored that they are mortal enemies?
Why did their actions just now seem a bit ambiguous?
Summer Nolan glanced at them, patted his neat black suit, and smiled, "Attorney Spencer, be careful not to get ash on your clothes again."
"Hmm." Elias Spencer responded lightly, then bit the cigarette in his mouth, smelling the aroma of hand-brewed coffee.
He bypassed her, poured the coffee into a prepared cup, and left with it.
As he passed by the two unfamiliar female employees, he didn’t spare them an extra glance.
Summer Nolan was stunned for a few seconds; that cigarette was the one she had smoked—
By the time she came to her senses, she realized that the shameless man had already taken away the coffee she brewed!
She squeezed her hand, and since there were others around, she couldn’t lose her temper. She had to make herself a cup of instant coffee and left with it.
Back in the meeting room, she saw him lounging in the chair with his legs crossed, lazily holding a half-burnt cigarette in one hand and drinking the coffee she brewed.
"Shameless." She snorted coldly.
"You can take it back." Elias Spencer said generously with a faint tone.
He smoked it and drank it, so what was the point of taking it back?
She picked up last week’s unfinished financial report and glanced around the meeting room, "Didn’t leave your assistant here to serve you?"
"Jealous?" Elias Spencer looked at her, smiling with his lips curved.
"Attorney Spencer, you’re overthinking it. There are plenty of men chasing me, why would I be jealous of you? Besides, I don’t like people with your personality." She smiled.
Elias Spencer listened to her, finished the last puff of his cigarette, extinguished it in the ashtray beside him, his thick eyelashes lowering, his expression remained indifferent, revealing nothing of his emotions.
Summer Nolan’s phone suddenly rang. It was Director Dawson, asking her to go to the bar tonight to gather with colleagues.
She mentioned needing to work overtime, but Raymond Dawson insisted:
"Just come over to show your face and have a few drinks with your colleagues. I’m helping you establish authority in the firm!"
Summer Nolan laughed; the old fox was quite active.
The review task was heavy, and they worked overtime until ten at night, as the city lit up with dazzling neon lights.
High-end bar.
When they arrived, the private room was smoky and chaotic, with colleagues playing spin the bottle.
"Attorney Nolan, Attorney Spencer, you’re finally here. You arrived so late, so you must have a drink first. We’ve already had several bottles!"
A male attorney said as he poured two glasses of whiskey and handed them over.
Summer Nolan took the glass, drank the liquor in it first, and then said, "I’ve been working overtime till now; if I had more free time, I would’ve been here earlier."
The attorney poured her and Attorney Spencer a little more, just half a glass, "If I could receive multimillion-dollar cases, I’d be willing to work overnight too!"
"Exactly, Attorney Nolan is really amazing. You’ve only been in the firm a few days and already received two such big cases."
"Attorney Nolan, tonight I must toast you a few more times to express my admiration for you!"
Everyone here were top attorneys, but even they found it difficult to secure million-dollar cases.
They didn’t know the case was snatched from Elias Spencer by Summer Nolan.
Seated in the middle of the couch, Raymond Dawson watched the firm’s people admire her, a shrewd smile flashing in his eyes, wanting them to admire her even more, to follow her wholeheartedly.
It would be best if she surpassed Elias Spencer.
Even without someone, the firm would still have Summer Nolan as a pillar.
At least they wouldn’t worry about following that man.
Elias Spencer’s close friend, Julian Rivers, immediately stood up from the couch and walked over to his friend saying, "Come on, join me for a smoke outside..."
Elias Spencer followed him to the restroom area, standing in the corridor, he lit a cigarette and asked directly:
"What did you call me out for?"
Julian Rivers cautiously glanced behind, then seriously asked, "Don’t you think Summer Nolan and the old fox are in cahoots? Could she be here to mess with you?"
Elias Spencer held the cigarette between his fingers, and after a while, uttered three words, "I... don’t know."
He truly couldn’t see through that woman, uncertain of her real purpose.
"You should be careful with Summer Nolan... I think she’s more cunning than the old fox. She stole your major case as soon as she joined the firm!" Julian Rivers warned out of goodwill.
"Didn’t you like her? Why are you speaking ill of her?" Elias Spencer raised an eyebrow; he always knew his best friend had a crush on that woman.
"I’m praising her! It shows my goddess is formidable!" He was worried his friend wouldn’t handle it, yet he also admired Summer Nolan, feeling conflicted.
In the private room.
Summer Nolan was dragged into the spin the bottle game by colleagues.
As soon as she joined, the bottle pointed at her. A male colleague mischievously said,
"Attorney Nolan, when the next person enters the room, not only do you have to get their belt, but also see what color their underwear is!"
