CHAPTER 99: CHAPTER 99: AS LONG AS YOU’RE NOT ANGRY, WE CAN CONTINUE...
Summer Nolan looked angrily at the man, paused for a moment, and said coldly, "One year."
"That’s too long. I don’t want to wait that long. How about half a year?" Ian Sterling, who had just been domineering, suddenly acted pitiful.
Half a year?
To take revenge within half a year... Summer Nolan glanced at the man and agreed, "Hmm."
"Get off me now!" she shouted angrily. If he weren’t useful right now, she wouldn’t bother with this man anymore.
Ian Sterling was about to get up, his eyes flashed with depth, and suddenly leaned in close to her fair neck, sucking hard, intentionally leaving a mark on her.
He hoped Elias Spencer would see it tomorrow...
"Have you had enough, you bastard?!" Summer Nolan fumed, twisting her body, but unable to break free, left to let him suck on her neck.
How could she not know this little trick of his?
He just wanted Elias Spencer to see it, to make him angry and argue with her, right?
Ian Sterling moved away his lips, watching her irritated expression, desire surged again in his eyes, he rasped,
"Don’t move..."
"Get off me!!!" Summer Nolan glared at him furiously.
Seeing she was truly angry, Ian Sterling frowned, released her hands, got up from her, got out of bed, and looked down—awkwardly.
Regaining her freedom, Summer Nolan sat up immediately, adjusting her strap, just about to give him a slap when her gaze unintentionally fell on him... she turned her face away quickly.
"Get back to your own house!" she shouted angrily.
"How can I go out like this? What if your mother sees? Let me use your bathroom..."
Without waiting for her consent, he headed to her bathroom anyway; he was determined to marry her, so her seeing this wasn’t a big deal.
"Who allowed you to do that in my room...?"
Summer Nolan took a few steps to the bathroom door, thinking he was going to resolve himself in her bathroom, chaos in her personal space. How could she ever enter without thinking about what he did here?
But suddenly, there was the sound of running water from inside.
He was showering?
"Who told you to shower in my bedroom? Your house is so close, can’t you go back there to shower?"
Standing at the doorway, she asked angrily, drawing her hand back from the door, worried about seeing something she shouldn’t see if she barged in.
Also, very concerned this might reach Elias Spencer and cause misunderstandings; he’s so possessive and jealous, who knows what he might do!
Ian Sterling heard her but pretended not to, staying inside for a while before calming down, feeling somewhat regretful now.
He shouldn’t have been so impulsive.
Despite his usual strong self-control, this was the first time he lost it.
Was she angry?
He was about to grab a towel when a thought struck him—he wrapped a towel around his waist first.
Then he took his phone from the sink and snapped a photo of himself in her bathroom.
He leaned lazily against the sink, one hand casually placed at the edge.
Purposely capturing her skincare products in the frame, with his wet hair dripping, beads of water scattered across his muscular body, broad shoulders, narrow waist, clearly defined eight-pack abs, showing off masculinity, quite enticing.
Ian Sterling was gentle by nature but not without aggression! As a businessman, he couldn’t succeed without tactics and cunning!
Minutes later, the bathroom door opened, Summer Nolan standing with arms crossed at the doorway, slapped him as soon as he came out:
"SMACK!!"
"I apologize for that earlier; I didn’t mean it," Ian Sterling didn’t blame her, even holding her hand against his face:
"As long as you’re not angry, you can continue..."
He was now fully dressed, no longer wrapped in a towel, not wanting to leave her a bad impression.
Summer Nolan quickly withdrew her hand from his and lifted it, ready to hit again, but held back, coldly telling him, "Don’t come here at night anymore. Go back."
"What can I do to make you not angry?" Ian Sterling asked.
"Go back!" her tone grew colder, not wanting to see him now.
With one hand in his black trousers pocket, Ian nodded slightly, leaving without saying another word, planning to appease her tomorrow.
Mrs. Nolan had long returned to her bedroom, with the sound of the TV on; being separated by two rooms from her daughter, she hadn’t heard the commotion here.
Only at the sound of the main door closing, she came out to check, and stopped by her daughter’s door to ask, "Did Ian leave so soon?"
"Did you want him to stay overnight?" Summer Nolan glanced at her mom, deliberately moving her hair to cover the kiss mark on her neck.
"Why do you look upset? Did he say something that made you unhappy?"
"He tried to pursue me, I rejected him, that’s all. Go to bed, mom, I have to get up early tomorrow." She didn’t tell her mom what happened earlier, not wanting to worry her.
"You rejected him, shouldn’t he be the upset one?" Mrs. Nolan murmured, closing the door for her.
Summer Nolan’s mind was full of the image of him forcibly kissing her, furious, she looked at the barely touched cake on the coffee table, picked it up and tossed it into the trash can.
Then poured more red wine into her glass, took it up, downed it in one gulp—
The next morning.
Summer Nolan saw in the mirror in the washroom, the kiss mark on her neck still very obvious, frowning, she walked out, applying thick foundation on her neck to cover it while makeup.
But still, a faint red mark could be seen.
After having breakfast at home, she just got downstairs and saw Elias Spencer’s car parked at the door.
She walked over and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Your car should still be parked outside, right? Get in." Elias Spencer opened the car door, shifting inside to make room.
Checking the time on her wrist, Summer Nolan, not wanting to grab a taxi, got into his car, "Drive me to where my car is."
"We’ll have lunch there and pick it up later, time to go to work," he said, suddenly pulling her into his arms, pinching her chin and asking:
"Did you think about me last night?"
At the mention of last night, Summer Nolan felt guilty and anxious in front of him, brushing away his hand, "Why would I think of you? Behave yourself."
Saying that, just as she moved away from his embrace, he pulled her back, crashing into his solid chest uncontrollably, letting out a muffled grunt.
With a swipe, she hit the man’s chest, telling him, "Attorney Spencer, keep up your cool demeanor, it suits me better."
"Why, you can tease me but I can’t tease you?" Elias Spencer unsatisfied, previously unsure who was always flirting and teasing him.
Now, is she flinging that towards Ian Sterling?
