CHAPTER 1215: CHAPTER 1215: AS EXPECTED BY ALL (PART 1)
Huangfu Jue stood straight, raised his hand and threw the gun to the General.
"We have no weapons," Gan Yuan said calmly.
"Impossible!"
A soldier immediately growled in a low voice.
Gan Yuan glanced sideways at the other side, took a small step forward, met her gaze, and the soldier felt a surge of fear in his heart, subconsciously taking a step back.
"I’ll say it again, we have no weapons." Gan Yuan raised both arms, "We are here to negotiate peace, not your prisoners, and we won’t accept your inspection. Either let us in now, or we’ll leave immediately."
The soldiers were silent.
What General Barton was really thinking, they certainly didn’t know. Whether the two sides were truly negotiating for peace, they also weren’t sure; everything was just done according to orders from above.
If they really turned around and left, who would take responsibility for the consequences?
Them?
Of course, they didn’t have that ability.
"Duke, Your Highness the Princess." The young General handed the gun to his deputy beside him, then respectfully raised his left arm, "Please!"
With that, he turned to look at his men not far away.
"Move the barricade, quickly!"
The General had already given the order, so his men dared not disobey, and immediately moved the barricade to open a path.
"This way, please." The young General led everyone past the barricade to a few parked vehicles, "Please get in!"
In order to prevent them from tampering with the vehicles, General Barton made special arrangements for vehicles to pick up Gan Yuan and the others. This inherently suspicious guy had no trust for Gan Yuan and Huangfu Jue.
"General O’Leary." Gan Yuan paused in front of the car door, "Thank you."
The young General was stunned, not expecting the other party to call out his name.
"Your Highness the Princess, you..."
Huangfu Jue also turned his face to look at the young General, and Gan Yuan extended her hand towards him.
"We know that you are compelled as well, so... I won’t hold it against you and your soldiers."
General O’Leary was taken aback for a few seconds, then reached out in a flustered manner to lightly shake Gan Yuan’s fingers.
"Thank you, thank you, Your Highness the Princess."
As a passionate young General, O’Leary did not agree with General Barton’s actions of using civilians as hostages.
However, like other key figures, his wife and young children had also been taken into the General Residence by General Barton. To preserve the lives of his wife and children, O’Leary had to maintain loyalty to Barton and follow his commands.
Gan Yuan gave him a comforting smile.
"I’m a mother too, I understand your actions. Rest assured, everything will be resolved soon, and your family will be safe."
General O’Leary’s heart tightened, overwhelmed by an indescribable emotion.
In such an environment, they should have been enemies; he should have been indignant at her, yet she was comforting him!
"General!" A trusted aide stepped forward two steps, gently reminding, "They’ve already called from the General’s side, asking."
General O’Leary cleared his throat gently, reined in his emotions.
"Please get in the car!" Gan Yuan and the others got into the vehicle, the young Major General glanced around, lowering his voice, "The vehicles are safe, good luck to you!"
Huangfu Jue turned around and gave him a slight nod.
General O’Leary looked at the people inside the car, then suddenly turned and moved to the other side of the vehicle, opening the door to the front passenger seat.
