Saint Seiya: The Multiverse Libra Gold Saint
Chapter 23 23: SS: 23 Carnage
Watching King's struggle, Carnage Kabuto's eyes gleamed with bloodlust. In Carnage Mode, his killing instinct surged, and King's vulnerability only fueled his excitement.
"Die, die, die!" A storm of punches surged toward King.
"That's enough." Kaiser said, stepping forward.
King's world luck had been fully traded to him, but that didn't mean Kaiser would let King die. Though their transaction was complete, standing by idly could sour his relationship with the world will, complicating future trades for Saitama's luck.
Kaiser blocked Carnage Kabuto's barrage with a single hand, and the battle chamber fell silent.
"Impossible!" Dr. Genus gaped at Kaiser, as if witnessing an incomprehensible being. "That body! It can withstand such immense power without any excess weight. How was it forged?"
Dr. Genus's mind raced, teetering on overload as he analyzed Kaiser's physique.
"Another fool looking to die." Carnage Kabuto growled, his mind consumed by slaughter in Carnage Mode.
Kaiser ignored him, turning to King. "Your sixth sense is complete. Our transaction is done. I've taken your luck. Remember my words: the cosmo grows through battle. You've felt your own power now."
King looked up, nodding. "I understand. I won't waste this power."
Carnage Kabuto, enraged by Kaiser's dismissal, felt a sudden, overwhelming sense of danger enveloping the room. Mosquito Girl cowered in the corner, trembling. Armored Gorilla broke into a cold sweat, staring at Kaiser. The oppressive dread gripped everyone.
Even Saitama's usual demeanor shifted, his eyes burning with battle intent as he locked onto Kaiser... his only true rival.
Carnage Kabuto, still in Carnage Mode, froze in place. "You're strong." He admitted. "By this world's standards, you're at least mid-to-late Dragon-level, maybe even on par with Overqwil. If you could master Carnage Mode and develop further, you might reach peak Dragon-level. Dr. Genus is truly a genius."
Kaiser stood calmly, exuding no aggressive stance, yet Carnage Kabuto remained rooted, unable to move.
"What is this power?" Dr. Genus demanded, unable to contain his curiosity.
"The power I wield is called cosmo." Kaiser replied. "Every cell in the body is like a star. The human body is a microcosm of the universe. Perhaps the universe we inhabit is merely the body of some greater being. My system simply unlocks the full potential of the human form."
Dr. Genus stood stunned. "The human body as a microcosm? Cosmo? Have I been wrong all along? Is there no limiter within the body?"
Dr. Genus wavered, grappling with self-doubt.
"No, your research is correct." Kaiser assured him. "The limiter is real, but breaking it is incredibly difficult. Among those I know, only one has succeeded."
His gaze shifted to Saitama.
"Him?" Dr. Genus eyed Saitama skeptically.
"Indeed." Kaiser confirmed. "Saitama is a powerhouse who broke his limiter. Carnage Kabuto was a failed experiment. Your greatest success is likely Zombieman. His strength may not be overwhelming, but his unmatched recovery gives him endless opportunities to try again."
Dr. Genus straightened his attire, addressing Saitama with reverence. "Greetings. I'd like to witness your power. Please, enlighten me."
Saitama scratched his head, a bit embarrassed by Dr. Genus's earnestness.
"Saitama." Kaiser continued, "Dr. Genus is vital to this world's ordinary people. Carnage Kabuto is a failure and must be eliminated. It's up to you."
With a snap of his fingers, Kaiser released the restraints on Carnage Kabuto.
"Damn you! Damn you all!" Carnage Kabuto roared, terror and rage contorting his face. His fate had been decided in a few casual words... unacceptable.
"Sure thing!" Saitama replied, unfazed.
Kaiser wasn't surprised to assign the monster to Saitama. Each defeated monster became a fragment of Saitama's luck, raising his strength's ceiling... a positive cycle, the true way to break the limiter. But Saitama's advantage came from the world will itself.
"Die, die, die!" Carnage Kabuto, maddened, unleashed a flurry of punches at Saitama.
To Saitama, the blows held no threat. With a casual punch, he unleashed devastating kinetic force. Carnage Kabuto's upper body shattered, blood spraying everywhere.
"One… one punch?" Dr. Genus stammered, stunned. "Is this the power of a broken limiter?"
Mosquito Girl, cowering in the corner, gaped. "Another monster…" She muttered, certain today was her day of reckoning. Such powerhouses kept appearing, one after another.
"His world luck has grown denser." Kaiser observed, glancing at Saitama's aura. This long-term asset wasn't at risk of depletion anytime soon, especially with gods still present in this world.
"Care to join us?" Kaiser asked Dr. Genus. "Your talent deserves a grander stage."
"Absolutely!" Dr. Genus replied without hesitation. "I'm with you. The House of Evolution is yours."
Having witnessed Kaiser and Saitama's power, he was utterly captivated.
