School Hunk or Childhood Sweetheart?

CHAPTER 349: CHAPTER 349: COULD IT BE THAT SHE’S AFRAID OF STEALING HER THUNDER?
"Yeah, that Shen Weiyi, she has no observational skills at all," lamented a female colleague. "I had intended to help her as the newcomer by giving her some simpler tasks to get her familiar with the work in the secretarial office. But instead, she said I had no right to tell her what to do. I just explained a few things to her, but she got impatient and said she’d rather quit. Nowadays, it’s tough to find a job, especially in a big company like Shen Technology—people are fighting tooth and nail just for an internship opportunity. I tried to persuade her a bit more, and that’s why I was late with the documents. The new generation is just so capricious, treating the company as their own house and threatening to leave at the drop of a hat," the female coworker said, shaking her head as though it was an offhand comment, but in reality, she was buttering up Secretary Jiang.
Secretary Jiang glanced at her and said, "Alright, I’ve heard enough. You can go back now."
"Sure." The latter colleague breathed a sigh of relief, but thinking of the flash of anger that had crossed Shen Weiyi’s face, which was quickly replaced by triumph, brought back her sense of superiority.
That girl thought she couldn’t be touched just because she wasn’t under her supervision, huh? Secretary Jiang, who was in charge of the entire secretarial office, could surely decide that girl’s fate.
When it was time to leave work, Shen Weiyi quickly packed up her things and left the company.
As soon as she stepped out of the company’s doors, she caught sight of a familiar car parked by the roadside. While she was still confirming it, the car door opened, and Sheng Ting’s tall figure appeared before her eyes.
Shen Weiyi burst into laughter and hastened towards him, saying, "How come you’re here?"
Sheng Ting replied with a warm smile, "There wasn’t much going on in the lab today, so I came to pick you up. How’s it going, are you settling in well at work?"
"It’s okay. Just a bit tiring."
She used to think studying was hard, but after entering the workforce, she realized that working wasn’t any less demanding than being a student.
It’s not only mentally draining but also physically taxing, not to mention all the underhanded office politics.
Sheng Ting raised his hand to touch her head, then took her hand and said, "Let’s go home. I’ll make you something delicious to eat."
"Hmm!" nodded Shen Weiyi, her worn-out face now filled with a genuine smile.
Meng Qiao left the company, and immediately she saw Shen Weiyi and the man who was with her, Sheng Ting. Her gaze deepened, and then she approached and asked, "Weiyi, is this your boyfriend?"
"Yeah!" Shen Weiyi turned to face her, nodding faintly, but showed no intention of introducing Meng Qiao to Sheng Ting.
After waiting for a moment and seeing that Shen Weiyi didn’t say anything more, Meng Qiao felt a slight displeasure. Did that girl fear that she would steal the spotlight in front of her boyfriend? Then Meng chuckled and took the initiative to speak to Sheng Ting, "Hello, my name is Meng Qiao. I’m an intern, just like Weiyi."
"Hello," Sheng Ting responded with a simple nod but offered no self-introduction.
Meng Qiao’s smile stiffened slightly.
What was with these two?
They didn’t even understand basic social etiquette.
Suppressing her irritation, Meng turned to Shen Weiyi again and said with a smile, "By the way, the office colleagues have organized a welcome party for us. It’s at a nearby bar. Why don’t you and your boyfriend join us?"
Only then did Shen Weiyi notice that several coworkers from her department were following behind her.
"No, thank you," Shen Weiyi declined.
Anybody with eyes could see that Meng Qiao was the star of the welcome party.
It was organized to curry favor with her, the "boss’s daughter."
Shen Weiyi preferred not to join in on that kind of excitement!
