CHAPTER 363: CHAPTER 363: MY EXISTENCE IS TO WAIT FOR YOUR EMERGENCE
The young girl, after taking the photo, added Shen Weiyi on WeChat and said she would send her the pictures once she got back and transferred them.
The black-awning boat cut through the water, circled the lake, and eventually stopped at the dock.
The rain had completely stopped.
Sheng Ting disembarked first and extended his hand towards Shen Weiyi as he said, "Be careful, don’t fall again!"
A light laugh came from behind, and Shen Weiyi felt a bit embarrassed when she heard the girl from the couple wink at her and say, "Your boyfriend is really good to you!"
"Your boyfriend’s pretty good to you too." It was clear that the boy didn’t talk much, but he was attentive and meticulous, while the girl seemed to be more outgoing.
"He wouldn’t dare to treat me badly," the girl hummed and turned to stick her tongue out at her boyfriend. Though he didn’t say anything, his eyes were filled with gentleness as he patted her head.
From the little chat they had, she learned that they were both freshmen at a university in H city and had been high school classmates who encouraged each other to get into the same college.
It sounded quite wonderful and inspiring.
Shen Weiyi then turned to glance at Sheng Ting again. They weren’t classmates, didn’t have any mutual friends, and their social circles didn’t intersect at all. Their meeting was completely accidental.
"What’s wrong?" Sheng Ting met her gaze and asked.
Shen Weiyi: "I was wondering if we would have met if Little Bao hadn’t gone missing."
"We would have," Sheng Ting replied with certainty.
Shen Weiyi looked at him with surprise.
Sheng Ting: "I believe everyone’s existence is about waiting for another person to come along, and my existence is to wait for you."
So, from the beginning, fate had decreed they would meet each other.
Sooner or later.
The two couples parted at the dock.
Shen Weiyi and Sheng Ting chose a direction and continued exploring Ancient Town.
When they got back to the city center it was already evening, and Shen Weiyi took Sheng Ting back to the hotel where she was staying.
When they went to check in, they were told that due to the tourist peak season and the weekend, all the hotel rooms had been booked out.
Shen Weiyi turned to Sheng Ting and said, "So, would you like to stay in my room?" Seeing Sheng Ting looking at her, she hastily added, "I mean, I’m staying in a suite, and it’s... fine for two people too."
"Yes," Sheng Ting replied before Shen Weiyi could finish her sentence.
Shen Weiyi felt her face go hot: "Don’t get me wrong, I meant... you can sleep on the sofa in the living room."
She had booked a suite, which had a living room in addition to the standard room.
Now that the weather was warmer and there was air conditioning, someone could make do with a blanket on the sofa for the night.
"Okay!" Sheng Ting said with a smile.
Shen Weiyi’s face grew even hotter, feeling like her explanations only made it worse, but with the words out, she had to act composed as she turned and headed for the elevator.
They returned to the room.
Shen Weiyi got a blanket from inside and placed it on the sofa: "I’m going to take a shower. If you find the sofa uncomfortable to sleep on..." Seeing Sheng Ting’s deep, dark eyes fixed on her, her heartbeat accelerated again, she steeled herself to finish what she had started, "We can switch, and I can sleep outside."
"It’s okay, I can sleep on the sofa," Sheng Ting said, his gaze warm and his smile doting.
"Then I’ll go in," said Shen Weiyi, turning swiftly, afraid that staying any longer would make her even more uneasy.
Watching her flee, Sheng Ting couldn’t help but let a light laugh escape his lips.
