CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER56-BATTLE! THRILLING!
The giant’s fist struck like lightning, bringing a fierce wind and a shrill whooshing sound.
Owen was greatly startled.
He hadn’t expected the giant, ten meters tall with a heavy axe on his back, to move with such speed.
Owen dodged with all his might, leaping agilely, his body rolling in the air like a cheetah.
Using his nimble movements and excellent reflexes, he skillfully avoided the giant’s attack.
The giant’s fist slammed into the ground with a thunderous boom.
The ground cracked instantly, stones flew, and dust filled the air.
Owen felt a powerful shockwave but had already moved swiftly from the spot, unharmed.
"Wait, we can talk first..."
The giant gave no chance for Owen to speak, throwing another punch right away.
Owen’s body performed a series of complex maneuvers in the air, rolling and spinning like a graceful cat.
His eyes sharp and alert, golden and green lights flowed in them.
Owen kept his gaze fixed on the guardian’s movements, ready to dodge the next attack.
The giant’s assaults grew fiercer, his punches and kicks relentless like a storm.
Each attack carried a destructive force, making the entire temple tremble.
Owen remained calm and composed, his reaction speed extraordinary, always dodging at the critical moment.
"Wait a minute, we need to talk. Fighting like this won’t lead to any result."
The dragonscale figure gave no chance to Owen, his fist striking again.
Owen’s figure flickered uncertainly in the hall, like a ghostly apparition.
Finn, watching Owen’s desperate plight, mouth agape, said:
"Father, what kind of trial is this? Why is it so difficult?"
Seeing this, the leader of the guardian team, his scalp tingling, suggested:
"Your Highness, perhaps we should leave first. Let Mr. Owen try it out here."
Finn immediately turned, grabbing the leader by the collar:
"What are you talking about? Mr. Owen is fighting for me, how can I flee? You’re putting me in an unjust position."
Charlie, moved by Finn’s spirit, raised his sword and shouted:
"Your Highness, we will stand with Mr. Owen to the end."
Finn almost spat out blood. Who said anything about dying together?
He gave the leader a meaningful look.
The leader, initially confused, quickly caught on and with a mournful face said:
"Your Highness, Mr. Owen has always favored you. He wouldn’t want to see you harmed by the repercussions of his battle. We’re not running away; we’re creating space for Mr. Owen to fight!"
Finn inwardly nodded, approvingly glancing at the leader.
This man was useful.
Charlie, hearing the leader’s words, couldn’t help but rebuke:
"Hughes, what are you saying? Mr. Owen has been like a mountain of kindness to us, teaching us enough for a lifetime on the road. And now you think of retreating. His Highness said we must stay; we’re not cowards—"
Charlie, red-faced from shouting, even caught the giant’s attention for a moment.
Finn, observing the giant’s increasingly fierce onslaught, glared at Charlie.
This man, not so useful!
Embarrassingly, Charlie caught Finn’s eye.
Finn’s look was full of fury, but Charlie mistook it as anger towards the giant and excitedly yelled:
"Did you see that? His Highness’s desire for battle can’t be hidden. His Highness is no coward!"
Finn’s mouth twitched helplessly as he let Hughes go.
"Let’s just stay here then," Finn decided.
Hughes, on the verge of tears, glanced at Charlie, who looked triumphantly satisfied.
I really want to punch you to death.
Diana, watching the trio’s antics, shook her head slightly and discreetly stepped back.
The giant’s fist missed again, and Owen stood amidst the swirling dust, his face contorted with fury:
"You think I’m giving you face, huh?"
He channeled his arcanergy, the Gold Divine Dragon blood coursing powerfully.
A formidable strength built up in Owen’s fist as he shot forward like an arrow.
The giant, seeing this, grinned broadly:
"Good, good, good-- that’s it, no more hiding like a coward."
Their fists collided, creating a violent gust of wind.
The arcanergy clashed, forming two waves that stirred the temple’s altar, pulverizing the flowers and fruits upon it instantly.
Owen’s arm trembled slightly, feeling the immense power from the giant’s fist.
His muscles tensed, focusing all his strength into this moment.
Owen suddenly pushed hard, trying to repel the giant.
The giant’s strength was beyond imagination, his fist immovable like a massive boulder.
Owen felt as if his arm would shatter under the giant’s immense force.
A powerful recoil from the giant’s fist struck Owen, catapulting his body like a cannonball.
He lost balance, flying backwards through the air.
Mid-air, Owen felt an intense pain.
"So strong, at least master-tier."
His insides felt torn apart, blood spewing from his mouth.
Finally, he crashed against the wall with a dull thud, the impact shattering it.
He slowly fell to the ground, blood continuously pouring from his mouth.
The blood stained his teeth and lips, painting a grim picture.
But the situation was even worse; his vision blurred from the severe impact.
Seeing Owen’s condition, Finn immediately ran to his side.
"Sir, are you alright?"
Do I look alright to you?
Owen pushed Finn away:
"Run, this giant is at least master-tier, we can’t handle him."
Finn felt a surge of relief, having wanted to run all along, but he said:
"What about you, sir?"
"I’m fine," Owen said with a bloodied smile. "I haven’t met any strong opponents along the way. This guy is just right for a little practice."
"You’re amazing, sir!"
"Stop the nonsense, just go."
As Finn stood up to leave, Charlie stepped forward:
"Mr. Owen, we will definitely not leave. We’ll stay by your side. His Highness already gave us a strict order to stand guard behind you."
Finn looked at Charlie, his face a picture of horror.
When did I ever say that?
Owen, also surprised, glanced at Charlie:
"Not bad, you’ve got some guts. Then just stand by and watch."
Finn felt like banging his head against the wall, saying with a mournful face:
"Sir... good luck, and have a good fight."
Owen, bolstered by the Gold Divine Dragon blood and further enhanced by the Emerald blessing, was in a league of his own.
In just the time it took for their conversation, the wounds on Owen’s body had already stopped bleeding and even begun to scab over.
The blood all over his body only made him appear more tragic.
Owen twisted his body and collided with the giant once again.
They swung their massive fists at each other, each collision causing deafening booms.
The gusts from their punches whirled up a storm of sand and stones.
Owen’s muscles were taut, his fists hammering fiercely against the giant’s body.
The giant’s skin was as hard as iron, Owen’s attacks leaving only shallow marks.
Each blow brought Owen a surge of pain, fresh blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Undeterred, Owen gritted his teeth and continued his fierce assault.
His fists, stained with blood, dripped crimson trails from between his fingers.
"Thrilling, thrilling!!"
The pain coursing through his body exhilarated Owen, each powerful punch accompanied by a skyward shout.
The giant’s counterattacks were ferocious, his fists like mountains smashing down on Owen.
Every strike caused Owen’s body to tremble violently, as if he was on the verge of being completely overwhelmed by the giant’s power.
The blood spewing from his mouth intensified, staining his face a vivid red.
The sight of Owen continuously bleeding was shocking, but only Diana knew the truth.
Each blow from the giant was tempering Owen’s body.
The light of the Emerald blessing continuously repaired Owen’s physical form, making him increasingly formidable.
Finn, watching the brawl between Owen and the giant, swallowed nervously.
"Isn’t Mr. Owen a magus?" Hughes gulped, visibly shaken by Owen’s display.
"Yeah," Finn replied.
"But then why does Mr. Owen act like a warrior, enjoying hand-to-hand combat?"
Hughes was utterly confused, the sound of fists colliding in the air making his heart feel as if it was being gripped.
Because back with the emerald sprites, they and Owen had been held in separate locations.
So, the members of the guardian team didn’t know Owen was a dragon.
Finn wore a troubled expression:
"How should I explain this to you..."
Charlie, on the side, watched with adrenaline surging, his blood boiling:
"Your Highness, let’s go help Mr. Owen."
Finn finally lost his patience, slapping him on the head:
"Help, with your head? If you go there, just the residual impact of their fight could instantly knock you out. Do you realize how dangerous that is?"
Charlie, rubbing his head, said with a pained expression:
"I thought Your Highness liked to fight."
