School Transmigration: I, Chosen as the Saint by Dragons at the Start
Chapter 65 -65-Mighty Dreamscape Dragon
CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER65-MIGHTY DREAMSCAPE DRAGON
As Aegis’s words fell, he hesitated no longer, his palm-knife swooping down like a sharp blade towards Owen’s neck.
"Hm?"
The enormous eyes showed a hint of confusion.
"Why so disobedient?"
The eyes at the temple’s entrance vanished, replaced by a dragon’s mouth that puckered and exhaled a breath.
A powerful gust surged from its mouth, transforming into a wind that targeted Aegis.
Owen, feeling the breeze, had his pupils contract sharply.
He watched in horror as Aegis’s flesh was torn away by the wind, leaving nothing but a skeleton still in the motion of a palm-knife strike.
Owen gulped, astounded, "So powerful, a mere breath killed a diamond-tier fighter?"
The sound of Sonic Dart clattering to the ground from Oliver’s grasp echoed loudly, snapping him back to reality.
Oliver immediately knelt on the ground, bowing towards the outside,
"I don’t know which esteemed senior you are, but I am the third prince of the Laine Kingdom. I was ambushed by my elder brothers and had to act in self-defense. I hope the senior can assist me."
Finn, with his mouth agape, stared at Oliver.
The once arrogant and unyielding Oliver now seemed meek and genuinely aggrieved.
"Such an actor!"
Finn grimaced in disgust, finding himself almost too revolted to speak.
Chrisman snorted coldly, "If he couldn’t act, how could we have been deceived for so many years? He must have always been like this."
Diana, equally astonished, covered her mouth with her hand, speechless for a moment.
She had intended to wait for Owen to ask for her help before stepping in to rescue him, but she hadn’t anticipated such an unexpected turn of events.
The powerful being outside the temple had blown Aegis away with a single breath.
She wondered internally if her saint mentor possessed such formidable power.
[fate point+3467]
Using [Prophecy] this time, Owen had indeed altered many things.
First, he wasn’t killed instantly by Aegis, buying time until the arrival of the dreamscape dragon.
Second, Aegis, a powerful spellbreaker, was killed.
Lastly, and most importantly, Owen survived, and the fates of Chrisman and Finn were rewritten, both carrying the fortune of the Laine Kingdom with them.
Thus, the fate points gained from using [Prophecy] this time were the sum of several previous uses.
In summary... a huge gain!
The system’s notification jolted Owen from his thoughts.
Clutching his chest, he stepped out of the temple, followed closely by Diana and the others.
What he saw outside left him speechless.
Before him lay a forest, with the distant sky dyed a gentle gold by the setting sun, resembling a magnificent oil painting.
However, what truly captured his attention was the dreamscape dragon coiling in the sky.
The dragon was immensely huge, almost occupying the entire sky.
Its scales shimmered with a rainbow’s radiance, as if stars had descended to the mortal realm.
Its eyes, deep and mysterious, were the very pair that everyone had just seen.
Finn, utterly astonished, murmured as if in a dream,
"A dreamscape dragon, it’s really a dreamscape dragon."
Chrisman, leaning on his sword, also gaped in awe,
"I always thought the dreamscape dragon in the Dreamscape Valley was just a legend. I never expected it to be real."
Diana licked her lips, her expression filled with excitement,
"Coming out for a stroll was indeed the right choice. To witness the legendary dreamscape dragon is a rare privilege.
They’re an extremely rare species among the dragonkind, with only about a thousand appearing in the tens of thousands of years of dragon history."
The dreamscape dragon’s wings were broad and strong, each flap stirring up a fierce wind.
Its body coiled elegantly in the sky as if performing a silent dance.
Each movement was graceful and powerful, every turn and leap imbued with beauty.
Its voice was deep and resonant, like an ancient ballad that inspired awe in all who heard it.
Owen stood still, quietly observing this spectacle, deeply moved by the beauty and power of the dreamscape dragon.
After a while, the dreamscape dragon ceased its flight and hovered directly in front of Owen.
It looked at him with eyes filled with reverence and respect, bowing its head slightly as if to show its honor to Owen.
Opening its mouth, the dragon spoke in a deep, sonorous voice, "Saint, it’s an honor to finally see your true face."
Owen scratched his head, slightly embarrassed by the earlier scene, "I’m afraid I’ve brought shame to our kind..."
The dreamscape dragon shook its head, its eyes warm and gentle, not at all like one of the most powerful beings of the Novalia Continent,
"It’s natural for a saint who has yet to grow to encounter obstacles. Such experiences are valuable, allowing you to grasp the profound truths of becoming a powerful being through life and death situations."
Owen nodded solemnly and exhaled deeply, "How should I address you, elder?"
"Just call me Bernard," the dragon replied.
"Mr. Bernard," Owen placed his right hand over his left chest, bowing slightly, "I’m deeply grateful for your life-saving grace."
Bernard extended a sharp, glowing claw, gently lifting Owen’s head,
"There’s no need for such formalities from you to us dragons, Your Highness."
"Proper etiquette is still necessary," Owen insisted.
Bernard nodded slightly, his smile widening.
The two chatted as if reuniting with an old friend, while the onlookers were petrified, staring in utter shock.
Chrisman gawked at Owen, his eyes wide,
"Saint? The dragonkind’s saint? Owen is actually the saint of dragons... No wonder he could defeat the temple’s guardian. Owen is the saint of dragons..."
He repeated the words, still in disbelief.
The members of the paladin troop were also stunned, unable to fathom Owen’s noble status.
Recalling how they had once attacked Owen and then thinking of Aegis’s tragic end, a chill ran down their spines.
Diana felt a twinge of envy, musing internally, "Such is the grandeur of the saint of dragons, to have such a powerful protector."
Bernard, looking at Owen with curiosity, inquired, "You’re injured?"
Owen lifted his garment, revealing the ghastly wound to the dreamscape dragon,
"Indeed, it’s quite severe. Mr. Bernard, do you have any means to heal it?"
"Dark energy," Bernard’s eyes flickered, "mixed with some malevolent force... Hmm, you might need to come with me. I’ll treat you properly."
Owen, more than willing, bowed deeply, "Thank you so much, Mr. Bernard."
Bernard lowered his head solemnly, "Your Highness, please come aboard."
"Uh, is this really okay?" Owen hesitated.
Bernard laughed heartily, "It’s fine."
Owen, no longer hesitant, climbed onto the back of Bernard’s neck.
Bernard’s massive eyes then turned to Diana, "Would you like to accompany us?"
Owen raised an eyebrow, curious why Diana was invited.
After a moment’s hesitation, Diana nodded firmly, "Thank you for the offer."
She leaped onto the dreamscape dragon’s back, settling next to Owen.
Bernard’s eyes twinkled with a mysterious smile as he spread his wings and took flight.
Finn, rising from the ground, dusted himself off, "Incredible strength, just the wind from its wings made it hard for me to stand."
Chrisman also got up shakily,
"That was without using its full arcanergy. If Bernard had, we might have ended up like Aegis, reduced to skeletons."
"How powerful do you think Bernard is?"
Finn mused, looking at the dreamscape dragon shrinking to a speck in the sky, his curiosity piqued.
Chrisman pondered for a moment: "Possibly a grandmaster-tier? Or even sage-tier? Maybe even a higher realm, who can be sure?"
"How wonderful it would be to have a dragon of such power. Then none of today’s events would have happened," Finn mused.
The duo seemed to have eased their relationship a bit in the joint battle. Chrisman rolled his eyes at Finn, choosing not to engage.
Suddenly, Finn smacked his forehead and turned around, exclaiming, "Damn it, I almost forgot about that beast, Oliver."
Oliver, who was heading out of the temple, stiffened slightly upon hearing Finn’s words.
Facing the cold stares of the crowd, he put on a pitiful face: "Big brother, second brother, it was all a misunderstanding."
Finn, rubbing his fists, approached Oliver menacingly, "A misunderstanding, huh? Let’s have a good talk about what a ’misunderstanding’ is."
Chrisman, with icy eyes, brandished his sword and advanced towards Oliver.
Oliver’s legs turned to jelly, "My dear brothers, I was really out of my mind just now."
Regret filled his heart, lamenting the dream that was almost a reality.
Little did he expect a dreamscape dragon of terrifying power to appear out of nowhere.
Meanwhile, Owen, having already experienced a ride on Barlo, didn’t feel much riding the dreamscape dragon.
But for Diana, it was her first dragon ride, and she was beaming with excitement.
Her hair fluttered back in the wind like seaweed in an underwater world, utterly adorable.
"Hahaha," her bell-like laughter brightened Owen’s mood as well.
"Mr. Bernard, how do you plan to treat the wound on my body?" Owen inquired.
"Hehe, just wait and see," Bernard replied mysteriously.
