School Transmigration: I, Chosen as the Saint by Dragons at the Start
Chapter 76 -76-The Marvelous Use of [Prophecy]
CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER76-THE MARVELOUS USE OF [PROPHECY]
Anbar was the name of the tail-general Berkeley had slain.
Another merfolk standing behind the ferocious one pointed at Owen, his face charged with emotion. "It was them, they not only killed Lord Anbar but also many of our brethren!"
Their faces were animated with a frenzy of murderous intent, a stark contrast to the fear and trepidation they had shown before.
Owen squinted, sizing up the merfolk. "Seems like this one is no ordinary foe. What rank might he be?"
Berkeley’s gaze was grave as he responded in a low tone, "He appears to be a tail-general too, but close to the level of a belly-general."
"A half-step belly-general?" Owen was momentarily surprised, then joked.
Berkeley found the term somewhat amusing. "You could say that."
"Whoa, so that’s like grandmaster-tier, right?" Finn exclaimed in surprise.
"Ha ha ha!" The half-step belly-general merfolk laughed heartily upon hearing this. "Your discernment is not bad, recognizing my level."
After his laughter subsided, he glared at Owen with murderous intent. "Now that you know my rank, you might as well take your own lives. It’ll save me from dirtying my Seastar Trident!"
With that, he brandished his trident, its formidable aura bursting forth.
Owen’s eyes shifted to the trident in his hand.
The trident had a unique shape, each prong resembling a radiant star, twinkling with an enchanting light.
Its surface was covered in exquisite patterns, reminiscent of oceanic totems, exuding an ancient aura.
The Seastar Trident was clearly no ordinary weapon.
Owen’s eyebrows raised slightly. "This merfolk won’t be easy to handle."
Berkeley, too, felt a twinge of concern and whispered, "The weapon in its hand must have an extraordinary origin. The arcanergy it emits is even surprising to me."
Owen’s eyes flickered with determination as he stretched out his hand and said calmly, "No worries, I’ll test his strength."
Eagerness shone in his eyes.
He hadn’t yet used his [Prophecy] ability in real combat, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity.
The merfolk’s strength was just right for the test.
Finn’s mouth fell open slightly, and he advised in a low voice, "Sir, this merfolk is no easy foe. Perhaps we should flee? Merfolk have limited speed on land."
"Yeah, a head-on clash isn’t wise. This merfolk, backed by the ocean, is not to be underestimated," Berkeley also cautioned.
This merfolk was already at a half-step belly-general level, and with the mysterious Seastar Trident, his strength undoubtedly surpassed the average.
A direct confrontation would likely result in Owen getting hurt.
Erin’s lips parted as if to speak, but Owen raised his hand to stop her. "Silence, watch how I take this fish’s head."
The half-step belly-general merfolk roared in anger, "Foolish human, you know not the vastness of the sky and the earth. Let me, Leyton, teach you that there are heavens beyond heavens, and people beyond people. Die!"
Before he could finish, Leyton raised his trident, bringing a fierce gust of wind with it, and launched an attack on Owen.
Leyton swung his Seastar Trident, each strike creating ripples of blue, as if to tear apart the entire sea area.
Owen, relying on his agile movements and precise combat techniques, skillfully dodged Leyton’s attacks, countering with a series of sharp claw strikes.
His hands had already transformed into razor-sharp dragon claws.
The Gold Divine Dragon, a rare and precious bloodline among dragons, lived up to its reputation.
The strength of the dragon claws was enough to contend with the Seastar Trident.
As the two forces collided, they emitted a symphony of metallic clangs, echoing through the air.
Leyton’s shock grew with every exchange.
He realized that Owen, merely a diamond-tier, was matching him blow for blow in combat technique, which made it difficult for Leyton to save face.
Suddenly, the Seastar Trident shimmered, channeling an unknown energy.
A massive water column, carrying immense force, surged towards Owen.
Owen’s brow twitched, aware that if the water hit him, he would be seriously injured.
"[Prophecy] activate," Owen silently commanded.
As he stepped out from his body, the world turned monochrome.
The fierce water column crashed into Owen, who quickly summoned a thunder-based magic, a thunder shield, to block it.
Water conducts electricity, and blue electric arcs instantly traveled along the clear column with a crackling sound.
Leyton’s eyes widened in surprise, not expecting Owen to be adept in thunder-based magic, one of the most powerful magics of the human race.
He hurriedly severed the connection between the water column and the Seastar Trident, stepping back slightly.
The defense of the thunder shield was limited, and Owen was knocked to the ground by the water column, clearly in a bad state.
Seeing this, Finn, Berkeley, and Erin rushed over to help Owen.
Leyton sneered, his trident glowing blue as he unleashed a violent wave of light in front of the trio.
They hastily retreated, and Leyton seized the opportunity to leap forward, landing in front of Owen.
His trident was now placed menacingly at Owen’s neck, his face twisted into a sinister smile. "Owen" froze, taken aback by his swift defeat.
Upon reflection, it made sense; after all, he was now merely a spirit, unable to feel the impact of the water column on Owen’s physical body.
"Owen" looked horrified, recalling the water column.
There must have been something in it that Owen’s naked eye had failed to see.
Watching Owen captured by Leyton, "Owen" now needed to think of a strategy – how to turn the tables in this desperate situation?
"Owen" walked up to Leyton, looking at him as if he were a black-and-white statue.
He reached out to touch Leyton and, as he had hypothesized, could feel Leyton’s physical form.
A smile crept across "Owen’s" face as he stroked his chin, pondering his next move.
Time ticked away, and a spark of inspiration flashed in "Owen’s" mind.
He moved Leyton’s trident from Owen’s neck to his hand.
Just in time, Owen returned to the real world.
A water column, with the force of a collapsing mountain, rushed towards him.
Owen replicated the movements from the [Prophecy], forming a thunder shield.
However, the shield couldn’t dissipate the powerful impact of the water column.
Owen was instantly thrown backward, his internal organs shifting violently.
Most crucially, Owen felt a strange pattern emerging in his body, like a starfish locking onto his dantian, the energy center.
His arcanergy flow instantly stagnated, as if it had been disabled.
Owen’s pupils constricted as he realized why "Owen" in the [Prophecy] world had not resisted and was easily subdued.
The Seastar Trident contained a mysterious energy capable of locking another being’s arcanergy.
In this world, without arcanergy, one is as vulnerable as a rabbit at the mercy of a predator.
Owen lay on the ground, his eyes filled with horror. Leyton’s laughter shook his shoulders: "You fell right into the trap. Taste the Seastar Trident’s trait skills!"
Erin was the first to react, rushing towards Owen: "Master, are you alright?"
Finn and Berkeley followed closely, their expressions panicked like children who had done something wrong.
Leyton sneered coldly, flicking his trident to create an arcanergy wave that blocked the three from approaching: "Three worthless creatures, trying to play heroes?"
He leaped up, just as in the [Prophecy] world, pointing his trident at Owen’s neck: "You were so bold earlier. Why can’t you even stand now? Weren’t you quite the fighter?"
He laughed arrogantly, his face smug with triumph.
Erin and the others, seeing this, dared not make any sudden moves.
"Don’t you dare touch my master!" Erin exclaimed.
Leyton turned his gaze to Erin, his eyes shimmering with lewd intent: "Want to save him?"
Erin was frantic, tears welling in her eyes: "Don’t harm my master. If you must kill, kill me instead."
Leyton burst into laughter, his only garment, a seaweed-like skirt, falling to the ground, revealing his grotesque genitalia.
"Satisfy me, and I might spare your master."
Finn’s eyes widened, his sword pointed at Leyton: "You bastard, what are you saying?"
Berkeley was equally enraged, rebuking sharply: "Are you even human?"
Leyton shrugged nonchalantly: "Indeed, I am not human, for I am the mightiest belly-general merfolk in the world."
He emphasized each word, his eyes turning blood-red, the lewdness from before seeming like a mere facade.
"Now, you have only one choice," his tone turned icy, "Kneel and please me. If satisfied, I might choose not to kill him."
Erin clenched her teeth, preparing for a desperate struggle.
She had already resolved that her body belonged to Owen, and as a noble dragon, she would never submit to such a lowly creature.
Just then, Owen’s calm voice drifted through the air: "Don’t worry, he wouldn’t dare harm me."
Leyton’s face darkened again, his cold gaze fixed on Owen: "Looking for death? I’ll start by slicing your tendons, let you taste true agony."
As he spoke, his trident swung towards Owen’s wrist.
Owen’s eyes sparked with intensity, and he roared inwardly, "Now is the moment!"
Electricity flickered between his fingers as the advanced thunder-based magic, Fingertip Lightning, coalesced to completion.
