CHAPTER 191: CHAPTER 191: IF YOU CAME BACK LATE, YOU WOULD NEVER SEE HER AGAIN

The two cars collided with a "bang," and a huge sound erupted around them. Summer Sutton only felt a buzzing in her ears and lost consciousness in an instant...

Adrian Walyon was still in London having a meeting with some clients when he received the phone call.

The call was from Sophie Walyon.

Her voice was urgent, almost crying, "Brother, come back quickly! Your sister-in-law has had an accident and is now in the hospital. If you return too late, you might not see her again!"

Adrian’s mind was buzzing, and his ears echoed her words repeatedly, unable to snap back for a while.

She had an accident!

Regardless of the importance of the clients to the company, he put down the documents he was holding and grabbed his phone, walking out the door, "I have something to attend to, let’s talk next time."

Heading downstairs, he rushed to the airport, bought the fastest ticket to fly back home, and made it to Northtown in ten hours.

On the way to the hospital, his footsteps were heavy.

Thinking about Sophie Walyon’s words, each step he took made him feel somewhat apprehensive.

If he returned late, he might never see her again...

More than ten hours had passed by now, does that count as late?

Adrian hadn’t even asked for the exact timing of what happened; upon receiving the news, he hurried back.

He didn’t know how Summer Sutton’s current condition was or how severe her injuries were. Adrian had many thoughts racing through his mind as he entered the hospital.

His footsteps were slow; at that moment, he was even somewhat afraid of the scene he would face soon.

In the twenty-three years since coming into this world, this was the first time Adrian Walyon felt what kind of emotion is called fear.

Afraid of facing her not being the usual witty girl, afraid of seeing her lying pale on the hospital bed.

As long as she had a sliver of hope, Adrian would feel slightly relieved.

What he feared was going in and facing her covered in a white sheet, unsuccessfully resuscitated, being prepared to be wheeled out.

Adrian’s mind was a mess; even though it was only a ten-meter walk to the ward, it felt like traversing a long lifetime.

When he arrived at the ward, Summer Sutton was quietly lying on the bed, and the room was filled with the "tick-tock" sound of medical equipment operating.

Ryan Walyon, Sophie Walyon, and Old Master Walyon were all there, guarding her, waiting for her to wake up.

Adrian Walyon let out a slight breath of relief.

Thankfully, it seemed he wasn’t too late returning.

"What’s the situation?" He asked with a composed face as he walked in with large strides.

"Uncle Lee was driving when the accident happened today, collided with another car, and he’s also in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment now." Sophie briefly explained the situation.

"What did the doctor say?" Adrian asked again.

"They’ll do their best, don’t worry too much," Ryan Evans comforted him.

"Uncle Lee’s driving skills have always been good. How could such a situation happen today?" Adrian pressed further.

"He spent the whole day driving yesterday and accompanied me for a while today, it probably was fatigue driving!" Old Master Walyon defended the driver.

"You know how devoted and hardworking Uncle Lee has been for our family all these years. In all the years of driving, he’s never had an accident until today. Who can go decades without a single mistake? When he wakes up, don’t blame him."

What he said indeed made sense.

A driver who hasn’t made a single mistake in decades is truly hard to find.

Adrian Walyon took a deep breath and sat by the bed, quietly observing Summer Sutton.
