CHAPTER 209: CHAPTER 209: ONE BITE FOR YOU, ONE BITE FOR ME
Adrian Walyon sent so many flowers all at once, that dealing with them became quite a headache for Summer Sutton.
She put as many as she could in vases, using every vase in the house, and the ones she couldn’t, she left in baskets to dry them.
Adrian sat nearby, his gaze drifting towards her from time to time, watching her busy work, quietly observing her reaction to each type of flower.
He actually just wanted to know which flower she truly liked, to make it easier for future gifts.
Through his observation, he concluded that it was regular hydrangeas.
Because Summer Sutton placed all the regular hydrangeas in the bedroom where they would be seen as soon as she woke up.
If it’s the first thing she sees upon opening her eyes, she must like them, right?
As for the reason she liked these flowers, Adrian couldn’t guess.
Summer Sutton hadn’t prepared dinner for him today, after being busy for half the day, she sat at the dining table and started eating her meal.
Adrian followed her to the dining table, not bothering to argue, initially intending to casually whip up some noodles in the kitchen to get through the night.
However, after rummaging through the kitchen for a long time, he couldn’t find any noodles at home.
Adrian, having no choice, returned to the dining room.
Summer Sutton was eating dumplings, ones she had made a couple of days ago, in a bowl twice the size of her face.
Adrian stared at her bowl, sat down next to her, and said disdainfully, "Can one person really eat that much?"
"I can." Summer Sutton didn’t even look up.
Adrian was at a loss for words.
"Eating too much at night isn’t good for digestion."
"I just did a lot of physical work, my digestion is just fine." Summer Sutton continued eating her meal.
Adrian rubbed his forehead.
"I’ll help you finish it!" After watching her for a while, he disregarded everything, moved her bowl to the middle, grabbed her chopsticks, and gobbled up several dumplings.
This woman, though he hasn’t found many virtues in her yet, occasionally cooks up something small, and the taste isn’t bad.
At least Adrian found it palatable.
After several dumplings and sipping hot soup, Adrian actually felt somewhat satisfied.
Summer Sutton glanced sideways at him, expressionlessly watched him for a while, then went to the kitchen to cook another serving instead of sharing a bowl of dumplings with him.
When she returned, they sat at the table together, each eating their own meal.
Adrian glanced sideways at her, observing her reaction.
"Do you like the flowers today?" he probed.
He actually wanted to know if sending flowers to appease a woman was effective.
Summer Sutton ignored him.
Adrian’s warm face was met with a cold shoulder.
Sending flowers apparently didn’t seem to work.
Staring down, he stirred the spoon in his hand, remained silent for a while, then suddenly said, "That night, before I went to the social engagement, I didn’t know Selena Sterling would be there too."
He was explaining to her, although given the nature of their marriage, Adrian didn’t really need to explain himself, but Adrian just didn’t like the sudden cold atmosphere between them.
"After arriving, I didn’t expect she would be there for me; I thought she was a lover of the producers." After a moment of silence, Adrian said, "These two people will disappear from the entertainment circle starting tomorrow."
Summer Sutton paused her eating.
She just quietly listened to him without saying anything.
Adrian explained what needed to be explained, said nothing more, and after resolving dinner simply, went upstairs.
Summer Sutton didn’t return to the room until late.
When she entered, Adrian had already finished washing up and was just coming out of the bathroom.
Summer Sutton shut herself in the bathroom and seriously thought over the matter while showering.
