Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 281: Now She, Treasuring My Darling
CHAPTER 281: CHAPTER 281: NOW SHE, TREASURING MY DARLING
The two talked a lot, about the decline of the Sutton Family, about how Summer Sutton had been living these years away from home, and about Summer Sutton’s childhood.
Adrian Walyon sat quietly listening by the side, indirectly learning a lot about Summer Sutton’s past from their conversation.
The old man seemed particularly spirited when mentioning young Summer Sutton.
"Our young lady, if you know her, you’ll know she’s fierce, straightforward, and knows right from wrong. I remember there was a neighbor boy who liked the young lady very much. The second young lady must have liked that boy, because she went to the young lady, wanting to push her into the lake. But the young lady turned around and pushed her in instead."
"It was winter at that time, the weather was very cold, and the lake was frozen. The second young lady almost lost her life when she fell in. But back then, both the old master and the master sided with the young lady, and no one stood up for the second young lady. The two masters truly adored the young lady!"
"But our young lady is worth it. If people don’t offend me, I won’t offend them. If they do, it’s their own fault, what’s it got to do with her?"
"Our young lady was pampered by the two masters since childhood. If the family hadn’t fallen into decline, she should be a delicate young lady. Young man, you better treat our young lady well." The old steward advised Adrian as he looked at him.
"She still has a life of being precious and pampered by others now!" Adrian replied without changing his expression.
The old man was taken aback for a moment, scrutinizing him before nodding, "I hope you can do that! She’s had it too hard these years; someone needs to cherish her well to set our minds at ease."
The old steward then talked about many other things, including the car accident involving Summer Sutton’s father.
When he brought it up, he was especially emotional, "The master’s departure, it’s strange to say the least. Someone usually so cautious, how did he end up in a car crash? Moreover, the young lady was in the car with him, their lives at stake! Shouldn’t the master have been more careful?"
"Besides, wasn’t the master supposed to take the young lady abroad for a few more days? He returned home suddenly, and then the accident happened, sigh!"
The old steward seemed unable to fathom it, shaking his head endlessly, sighing.
Adrian listened quietly by the side, brows slightly furrowed, as if he was pondering something.
Summer Sutton was too young at the time, and she was severely injured in the accident. She could remember little else, only the image of the collision of the two cars and how her father protected her before he died.
It was the most painful memory of her twenty years, often haunting her dreams.
Summer felt a bit repressed by the old steward’s words, not wanting to think more about it. She stood up, "Grandpa Lee, it’s very late now, you should rest too. I’ll come back to see you another day!"
Pulling Adrian with her, she quickly left the Sutton family’s mansion.
On the way back, Adrian seemed somewhat absent-minded.
He was still thinking about the old man’s words.
Returning suddenly, an accident happening suddenly?
Such a coincidence?
...
The night in River City carried an extra layer of tranquility compared to Northtown.
After returning to the hotel, Summer Sutton was probably a bit tired; she washed up and went to bed.
Adrian followed her into the duvet, stretching out his arm, but before he could pull her over, Summer Sutton turned her body and willingly snuggled into his embrace.
Adrian was momentarily stunned, his outstretched hand left suspended in mid-air, lowering his eyes to quietly gaze at her.
