Chapter 296: The Tampered Drink
CHAPTER 296: CHAPTER 296: THE TAMPERED DRINK
Summer Sutton is still playing with fireworks, holding a bunch of sparklers in her hand, lighting them one by one and waving them around.
"Is it Miss Sutton?" A waiter approached her, bowed his head politely and asked.
"Yes, I am." Summer Sutton paused her movement and looked sideways at him.
"This is from Miss Zoe Baxter for you!" The waiter brought out a glass of juice and handed it to her.
Summer Sutton turned her head, her gaze sweeping around the venue.
Zoe Baxter was having a blast with classmates in the distance, a big group of girls playing excitedly.
When Summer Sutton looked towards her, her gaze happened to be directed at Summer Sutton.
With a smile, Zoe Baxter downed the drink in her hand.
Then she turned and continued to party with her friends.
Summer Sutton stood by the stair railing, gently swaying the glass in her hand, quietly staring at the juice inside.
"Summer, are you still playing? There are lots of fireworks left." Nearby, Iris Watson’s voice came.
"Not drinking your drink? I’m just thirsty!" Seeing her just staring at the juice in a daze, without any intention of drinking it, Iris reached for the glass in her hand and tried to drink it, but Summer Sutton dodged.
"Get your own if you want it, don’t be lazy! It’s just a few steps away!" She pushed her away, sending Iris off.
Iris pouted, helplessly heading to the drinks area.
Summer Sutton’s gaze quietly swept around the venue, finally landing on Gina Sutton’s face.
She stared at Gina Sutton for quite a while, seemingly deep in thought.
Gina Sutton uneasily got up and went to the powder room.
Summer Sutton was still struggling.
Her contemplative time was quite long, but she still couldn’t make up her mind.
She placed the juice glass aside and went to the restroom.
She wasn’t Gina Sutton; she was humane.
After setting the juice glass aside, Summer Sutton didn’t think about it anymore, placing it in an inconspicuous spot where most people wouldn’t know if it had been drunk, likely leaving it untouched.
However, when she went to the restroom and came back, she found the spot where she had put the juice glass was now empty!
Summer Sutton was stunned.
Not far away, the birthday boy of the evening was carrying two glasses of juice, moving towards Gina Sutton.
Arriving beside her, the birthday boy smiled at her, "Classmate Sutton, it’s great that you’re here tonight! I toast you!"
"To be invited is my honor!" Gina Sutton smiled slightly and accepted the glass from him.
Summer Sutton glanced towards Gina Sutton, noticing the familiarity of the glass in her hand.
However, all the juice glasses on site were the same, and there were countless prepared for each type of juice.
Before Summer Sutton could discern it clearly, the two had already raised their heads and emptied their glasses of juice.
Not far away, Lruis Evans was also watching this scene.
Lruis Evans quietly watched them for a while, tidied the wrinkles on his shirt, and quietly left the scene.
Summer Sutton didn’t stay at the venue long before receiving a call from Adrian Walyon.
"I’m here, waiting for you outside!" He said concisely, hanging up after one sentence.
Fearing he would wait too long, Summer Sutton didn’t linger; she hurriedly ran out after answering the call.
The two soon left the birthday scene.
...
Soon after Gina Sutton finished her glass of juice, her head started feeling dizzy.
She thought it was just the aftereffect of the few drinks she had earlier and didn’t pay much attention.
She lingered at the venue for a while longer but then felt her head getting dizzier, her body even starting to heat up.
Gina Sutton was struggling to hold on, so she casually pushed open a door to a lounge, intending to take a rest before leaving.
