CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: TAKING A BATH TOGETHER

"Alright, it’s getting late. Let’s all get some rest early! There’s still something to do in the morning. I’ll bring Summer back another day." Adrian understood her feelings, dropped this line, and hurriedly left the Walyon Family with Summer Sutton’s hand.

Adrian even brought the jewelry given by Old Master Walyon and handed it to Summer Sutton as soon as they walked out the door.

"I don’t want it!" Summer Sutton refused to take it.

She didn’t want to get married.

Adrian spread her hand open and forcibly placed the jewelry box in her hand, coldly smiling, "Does Miss Sutton have the option to say no?"

His tone was very domineering.

It was clear from his expression: I’ve just announced our engagement in front of so many people, do you still dare to run away?

Summer Sutton was furious, "Adrian, this is a marriage, not child’s play! We’ve only known each other for three or four days!"

"Do I look like I’m playing games with Miss Sutton?" Adrian retorted sarcastically.

Summer Sutton was stunned.

His efforts to investigate her, find her, and bring her to meet his family; his actions indeed didn’t resemble child’s play.

Adrian clearly didn’t fancy Gina Sutton, and certainly wouldn’t marry Gina.

Finding her was merely him using her.

Using her to break his family’s wish for him to marry Gina Sutton.

He’s serious about marrying her, even if there are ulterior motives.

Summer Sutton’s head was in a mess; too many things had happened tonight, and she found it hard to process everything.

However, the only thing she was grateful for was that she was not yet of age to obtain a marriage certificate.

Before the wedding, perhaps there’d be a turnaround.

Arriving back at Sutton Gardens, it was half-past ten.

Summer Sutton wanted to head straight for a shower, but Adrian pulled her back, pinning her against the edge of the table behind her.

His body was very close to hers, his breath feeling hot, "Did you enjoy tonight’s play?"

Enjoying it was the last thing on Summer Sutton’s mind!

He came fully prepared tonight, with the engagement ring ready to pull out at any moment during the ceremony. Clearly, he came with a purpose.

He dug a marriage trap waiting for her, and she foolishly jumped right in. How could she possibly be happy?

Summer Sutton’s expression wasn’t good, yet Adrian seemed oblivious, his handsome face leaning very close, seriously studying her.

She had put on makeup tonight, meticulously dressed up.

The whole evening, Adrian had been busy dealing with his family and hadn’t had a chance to truly appreciate her beauty.

Summer Sutton seldom wore makeup, usually maintaining a fresh-faced college student appearance.

Dressed up with makeup, she exuded a subtle softness, her skin pale as snow, lips temptingly red.

Adrian stared at her, his gaze suddenly moving in for a kiss.

Just as he was about to kiss her, Summer Sutton’s mind flashed, and she dodged his touch.

Adrian’s face turned dark, glaring at her fiercely.

"Um, I haven’t removed my makeup yet; it’ll leave a lip mark." Summer Sutton averted her eyes, struggling to find an excuse.

Adrian ignored this, grabbed a few tissues, and helped wipe her lips.

Attempting to kiss again, Summer Sutton crouched and dodged once more.

Adrian’s face darkened again.

"I want to shower first!" Summer Sutton pleaded pitifully.

In truth, she was simply unaccustomed to his touch; knowing someone for just three or four days and engaging in such intimately close actions—it takes remarkable mental fortitude!

Her words were intended to thwart Adrian.

Unexpectedly, Adrian simply scooped her up and headed straight for the bathroom.

Summer Sutton’s expression changed instantly.

She only wanted to bathe alone, not with him!
