Chapter 87: Warm as the Morning Sun
CHAPTER 87: CHAPTER 87: WARM AS THE MORNING SUN
Summer Sutton felt as if she had been electrocuted, her body suddenly tensing up.
Adrian Walyon was still on top of her, his lips so hot they seemed capable of burning Summer alive.
It was quite cold this season, and Adrian had just returned to their room with no heating on.
However, Summer felt as if she were in a bonfire, her whole being seemed on the verge of igniting.
Adrian lingered on top of her for quite a while, and even afterward, he didn’t relent, they carried on for a few more hours.
By the time they finished, it was already dinnertime.
At this point, Summer was both exhausted and hungry, torn between taking a nap or getting up to eat, but the housekeeper came to deliver a message.
"Young Master, dinner is ready, the Old Master requests you and the Young Madam to come for dinner!"
With no choice, Summer got up, dressed, and followed Adrian to the Old Master’s place.
By the time they arrived, the dining table was already full of people.
Although Summer was now a part of the Walyon family, this was her first time dining with them.
Other than Adrian, she didn’t recognize anyone else at the table.
Adrian wrapped an arm around her waist and began the introductions, "This is my wife, Summer Sutton!"
It was a simple and straightforward introduction, very much in line with his style.
Then he proceeded to introduce the others at the table, "This is Uncle, Aunt, Little Aunt, Uncle-in-law..."
Summer was smart; having married him, she cooperated well in front of others.
With each person Adrian introduced, she smiled sweetly and greeted them, leaving no room for criticism.
The last person Adrian introduced was a young man.
Following her gaze, Summer froze when she saw his face.
He was a man about the same age as Adrian, calm and reserved.
"This is Jimmy Evans, from Uncle’s family," Adrian introduced.
Summer was stunned for a few seconds.
She had met him before, on the Old Master’s birthday night in the garden.
A man as cool as the night, yet with a name as warm as Jimmy.
Ryan Walyon nodded at her, his clear cold eyes as unfazed as a winter’s night.
Summer nodded back and sat down beside Adrian.
Adrian and Ryan seemed to get along well, sitting side by side, occasionally joking with each other, the atmosphere easygoing.
Summer didn’t know anyone well nor had much to talk about, so she focused on eating quietly.
Diana Wood sat not far from her, her expression tense, occasionally glancing at her.
The way Diana looked at her made Summer uncomfortable, like being pricked with needles.
She tried to ignore it, but it was hard to completely disregard a gaze that felt as penetrating as X-rays, as if aiming to see through her.
She didn’t eat much at dinner and left the table early.
Sitting alone on the sofa, playing with her phone, she waited for Adrian.
Adrian rarely came home for meals, and Summer originally thought that he might chat for hours sitting with Ryan.
Unexpectedly, after she had only browsed the web for a few minutes, Adrian was already by her side.
Summer looked up at him, standing tall like a post beside her, caught off guard.
"Are you full?" Adrian’s eyes swept over her carefully.
"No," Summer answered honestly.
Adrian didn’t ask further, took her hand, and stood up, "Come on, I’ll take you for a little treat."
