An Junxi instantly became alert and sat up. "Why?"

Gong Xiaoyu relayed what Yue Xiaoyang had said. An Junxi glanced at Gu Yikun beside her. Gu Yikun shook his head, indicating it was new to him as well.

The fact that Aunt Yue was expecting a second child was news to him. Perhaps Aunt Yue had deliberately concealed it due to their marital situation or because of the concerns related to high-risk pregnancies. Anyway, he didn’t know that Yue Xiaoyang had a sister who didn’t make it.

An Junxi asked Gong Xiaoyu, "Knowing the reason is good. Now you know that Xiaoyang sees Miao Yan like a brother, and won’t think too much anymore."

Gong Xiaoyu said, "He’s so resistant to marriage, Junxi. I’m scared now, scared I’ll lose the bet."

An Junxi said, "You can’t think like that. Firstly, there’s no one else around him, and he treats you well. He just needs time. Aren’t you living together now? Get him used to having you in his life. An Junxi said, "It’s late over there, go rest."

Gong Xiaoyu asked, "When are you coming back?"

"In a few days. Jinxiu has to study, so we won’t stay long."

"Alright, let’s chat when you get back. Remember to bring me souvenirs!"

An Junxi was helpless. She was just being sentimental, and now she’s asking for souvenirs. Isn’t the shift too fast?

"Okay, okay, Boss Gong. I will meet your demands as best as I can."

"That’s better."

After they hung up, Gu Yikun pulled An Junxi into his arms and leaned in to look at her. "So, this is how you captured my heart? You’re such a little fox."

An Junxi was confused, "What?"

Gu Yikun played with her long hair and said, "First, you got me used to having you in my life, and then you made it so that I couldn’t live without you. Marriage naturally followed." He mimicked her.

An Junxi blushed, "I didn’t set you up. You were the one who said you wanted to get married."

Gu Yikun kissed her and smiled wickedly, "It’s okay. I like being set up by my wife."

An Junxi saw he was starting to misbehave again and raised her hand to beg for mercy, "I’m really tired, hubby. Let me rest for a couple of days."

Seeing she was truly exhausted and hadn’t slept well the night before, Gu Yikun hugged her and lay down, "Alright, sleep tight."

An Junxi felt a bit moved and couldn’t sleep. She said, "Yikun, do you think Yue Xiaoyang will marry my sister?"

"Hard to say. All I know is Yue Xiaoyang won’t easily fall for someone else."

An Junxi frowned, "Alright, why is that guy so troublesome."

Gu Yikun patted her back to coax her to sleep, "Go to sleep, I’ll take you out to play when you wake up."

Getting sleepy, An Junxi said, "Okay."

They slept for more than two hours. An Junxi felt rejuvenated and was about to change her clothes when she discovered... her period had come early!

She was devastated when she checked the calendar. Why did it come a few days early again?

He returned to the room and passed it from the bathroom to An Junxi, who took and used it. Luckily, her aunt’s room had them; otherwise, buying some last minute would be troublesome.

She changed into clean underwear but still felt a heavy feeling in her lower abdomen. Holding her tummy, she walked out.

Gu Yikun made her a cup of brown sugar water and supported her to the sofa, looking at her distressed expression, "Is it very painful?"

An Junxi shook her head, "Not very painful, just uncomfortable."

Gu Yikun handed her the warm brown sugar water and placed his hand on her lower abdomen.

After slowly drinking the water, An Junxi lay against Gu Yikun, "I don’t want to go out to play anymore, Yikun."

"If you’re not feeling well, just rest at home. We don’t need to go anywhere."

Gu Yikun accompanied her reading a book. They quietly spent the afternoon together. In the evening, An Junxi had no appetite for dinner, and the cook made her a light meal, which she barely ate.

Gu Yikun took her for a walk around the estate. It was a European-style castle, with every part of it classical and luxurious. An Junxi was stunned, thinking no wonder Gu Qianlan was so spoiled; she was truly a princess living in a castle!

They walked half a circle and returned to their room to rest. Since An Junxi was uncomfortable, Gu Yikun took her back to their country earlier than planned.

When they were leaving, An Junxi told Jinxiu to study hard, hoping he could return to Yan City early, and she would take him out to play again.

Gu Jinxiu promised her, "I will definitely pass the exam as soon as possible!"

An Junxi was pleased, planting a kiss on his cheek and watching the driver take him back to summer camp before boarding the plane with Gu Yikun.

After a long flight, they arrived in Yan City.

Returning home, An Junxi thought everything would be as warm and cozy as before, but everything had changed.

As they stepped into the door, they saw Gu Qianlan kneeling before her mother, crying, while her mother scolded her with a furious expression.

Gu Kuangyong didn’t stop his wife, sharing her angry look.

Seeing them return, Liang Huiyun’s eyes on An Junxi were sharp and penetrating.

"An Junxi, come here."

An Junxi, scared, held Gu Yikun’s hand. Gu Yikun said, "Don’t be afraid, I’ve got your back."

An Junxi walked over, "Mother, what happened?"

Liang Huiyun slapped the table, "You have such a cruel heart to push Qianlan into the fire! Is this how you act as a sister-in-law?"

An Junxi was shocked, "Mother, I don’t understand what you mean."

With a look of grievance but a hint of satisfaction in her eyes, Gu Qianlan cried with her head lowered.
