Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO
Chapter 223: You’re coming back for my wedding?
CHAPTER 223: CHAPTER 223: YOU’RE COMING BACK FOR MY WEDDING?
Yu Zheng opened the office door and said to An Junxi, "Please wait a moment. The president’s meeting will be over in half an hour."
An Junxi walked in, thinking she had come to the wrong place, and turned to look at Yu Zheng.
Yu Zheng said, "After the president was discharged from the hospital two years ago, he had the office and the lounge completely redecorated."
An Junxi felt a bitterness in her heart. Did he really not want to think of her anymore?
She sat in this unfamiliar office, her heart suddenly filled with fear, to the point where she wanted to leave immediately. She was afraid to see him.
Yu Zheng closed the door and left. Secretary Wang brought her a cup of coffee. After Secretary Wang left, An Junxi hesitated for a moment, then got up and walked to the lounge inside.
She opened the door, and indeed, the lounge was different as well.
It was here that she had conceived Aixi, and now she couldn’t find a trace of its original state.
Yi Ke, do you really hate me that much?
An Junxi felt flustered. She picked up her bag and went out, "Secretary Wang, I need to leave now."
Just as she pressed the elevator button, Secretary Wang, who couldn’t dare let her go, was about to stop her when the president happened to come out of the meeting room.
Secretary Wang quickly said, "President, Miss An came to see you, she..."
A glimmer of light appeared in Gu Yikun’s previously lifeless eyes. He looked towards the elevator, and An Junxi met his gaze. Her hand pressing the elevator button trembled slightly.
He truly hated her; she could see that.
Not daring to stay, she turned and walked into the elevator. The doors slowly closed.
Gu Yikun threw the documents onto Secretary Wang’s desk. He strode over and forcefully pulled the closing elevator doors open.
Before An Junxi could react, Gu Yikun grabbed her arm and dragged her back into the office, slamming the door shut behind him.
Secretary Wang’s heart leapt in fear, silently praying for Miss An, hoping the president would not lose his temper and hit her.
Gu Yikun threw An Junxi onto the sofa, his hands gripping her thin shoulders tightly, his eyes like deep seas that seemed ready to swallow her whole.
"An Junxi, why did you come to see me?"
An Junxi felt pain from his grip but held back from crying out, "Yi Ke, I..."
Gu Yikun said, "I’m getting married. Did you come back to attend my wedding?"
An Junxi looked at him, "You’re really going to marry You Lifen..."
"Yes, An Junxi, I, Gu Yikun, don’t need you."
Gu Yikun’s gaze locked onto her. She had lost weight, her small face now sharp with a pointed chin and poor complexion, making her already pale skin appear even more so.
The woman he longed for day and night was now standing right in front of him. Back then, he had begged her not to leave, but she had trampled his dignity.
No one could treat him like that.
Gu Yikun let her go and turned his back on her. Seeing him about to leave, An Junxi reached out to grab his hand.
Gu Yikun’s tall frame trembled. He looked down at her hand.
He once couldn’t bear for her to suffer any harm. Now, after just two years, her once smooth and tender hand was full of scars. How had she been living these past two years?
She would rather suffer outside than stay by his side, all because she didn’t care about him.
Seeing him stare at her hand, An Junxi withdrew it, her heart tightening. She knew her hand looked terrible.
She said, "Yi Ke, I found my parents."
Gu Yikun sneered, "So you want to come back? An Junxi, you think too highly of yourself."
An Junxi walked up to him, "Yi Ke, what would it take to stop you from being angry?"
Gu Yikun raised his hand and knocked over a vase nearby. Still not satisfied, he swept a set of cups to the floor. The shattering sounds fell heavily on An Junxi’s heart, making her take two steps back in fear.
Red blood vessels appeared in Gu Yikun’s eyes, "An Junxi, do you know how I survived after you left? How you can just come and go as you please? What makes you think I’m always waiting for you?"
An Junxi bit her lip, holding back her tears, "I can’t come back, can I? No matter what the reason is?"
Gu Yikun looked at her, speaking each word deliberately, "Yes, An Junxi, I hate you. I hate everything about you."
An Junxi’s throat felt tight, what about your daughter, do you hate her too?
She didn’t dare to ask. Since he wouldn’t let her come back, she couldn’t let him know about Gu Aixi’s existence.
If he took their daughter, she would have nothing left.
She picked up her handbag, "Sorry for the disturbance, President Gu."
Her retreating figure was a thorn in his eyes. Gu Yikun pressed her against the door, his voice similar to a trapped beast in the mountains, "An Junxi, why did you come back? Why are you always so decisive when you leave? Tell me!"
Her bones felt as if they would break. She endured the pain and said hoarsely, "Yi Ke, if you can’t forgive me, why would I stay?"
Gu Yikun gradually loosened his grip. An Junxi hurried out of the office; if she stayed any longer, she would have cried.
The door closed, and the air gradually lost her scent.
Gu Yikun waved his hand through the air, unable to grasp anything.
If not for the shattered vase on the floor, he would have thought he had dreamed her return.
He sat on the sofa, wondering why he had let her go.
An Junxi walked out of the Gu Building, disoriented. Uncle Cheng was waiting at the exit.
Seeing her come out, Uncle Cheng said politely yet distantly, "Miss An, our madam wishes to see you."
The Gu Family’s car was parked nearby.
Had Mrs. Gu already known that she had come to see him?
Indeed, news traveled fast.
Uncle Cheng opened the car door for An Junxi. With no other choice, she got in.
The car drove directly to the villa area, once her and Yi Ke’s home.
The scenery along the way was so familiar. She had sat in the passenger seat beside him countless times, returning together.
Now, returning again, she was no longer Mrs. Gu.
The car stopped at the door, and An Junxi got out.
Uncle Cheng led her inside. The maids acted as if they couldn’t see her, not even looking at or greeting her.
Entering the hall, she saw Liang Huiyun sitting there waiting for her, along with Sister He and Sister Li.
Their eyes were filled with myriad emotions, some regretful, but mostly disappointed.
An Junxi didn’t know what to say. Her departure back then had hurt too many people.
Liang Huiyun said, "An Junxi, you’ve harmed Yi Ke so much. If you had never come back, I might have forgiven you. But you dare to come back!"
An Junxi lowered her head. Liang Huiyun’s hands were trembling as she said, "Come with me."
She walked upstairs, and An Junxi followed.
They stopped outside the master bedroom on the third floor. Liang Huiyun called for Sister He to open the door.
An Junxi had a bad feeling. This was their master bedroom; what did Liang Huiyun want her to see?
Sister He took out a key and opened the door. As An Junxi saw the inside of the room, her heart plunged into an abyss.
Was this still their bedroom?
