Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO
Chapter 360: The Castle in the Fairy Tale
CHAPTER 360: CHAPTER 360: THE CASTLE IN THE FAIRY TALE
Yue Xiaoyang knocked on the table and said to Adri, "Phone."
"Oh, okay."
Adri handed the phone to him, watching as he dialed a number, "Yi Ke, I’m watching the live broadcast of the hotel event. I saw her."
Adri had been diligently studying Chinese with a Chinese neighbor recently. Chinese truly was the hardest language in the world to learn; she felt that every character looked almost the same. The only words she understood from Doctor Yue were "hotel."
She was quite anxious, calculating how many cakes she should bake for her neighbor tonight to enhance her training.
Yue Xiaoyang was oblivious to what Adri was thinking; he only cared about the person he wanted to see.
Had she and Yu Zheng gone to Saint Petersburg, and were they staying together?
Right now, Yue Xiaoyang’s mind was filled with thoughts about Gong Xiaoyu. She’d always prepare what he liked to eat diligently, and when she slept, she liked to grab his clothes. During meals, she always wanted him to feed her, or she wouldn’t eat.
Sometimes mature and alluring, sometimes like a child.
Now, was she like that with Yu Zheng?
Yue Xiaoyang didn’t dare to imagine it; just the thought of her being with another man made him feel suffocatingly miserable.
He had taken her goodness for granted, not cherishing her enough.
Gu Yikun, hearing Yue Xiaoyang’s ambiguous words, knew who he referred to as "her," and said, "Gong Xiaoyu came with Yu Zheng."
"I know, they..."
"They’re not staying in the same room."
Upon hearing Gu Yikun’s words, Yue Xiaoyang suddenly felt the outside’s scorching sun become gentler.
He asked, "What do you think of them?"
This silly question Yue Xiaoyang asked revealed his extreme lack of confidence.
Gu Yikun understood Yue Xiaoyang’s mindset and knew what he wanted to hear, so he answered truthfully, "I don’t think they’re compatible."
Yue Xiaoyang’s heart filled with a glimmer of hope, "I want to see her camera feed."
"Alright, I’ll have the director adjust it for you."
Gu Yikun returned to the exhibition hall and exchanged a few words with the director. The director glanced in Gong Xiaoyu’s direction and nodded, "Okay, President, we will connect separately for Young Master Yue."
Gu Yikun returned to the lounge, An Junxi asked, "Where did you go?"
Seeing that she hadn’t started eating yet, Gu Yikun asked, "Why aren’t you eating?"
"Waiting for you."
Gu Yikun had the dishes reheated and said, "Don’t go hungry."
An Junxi knew Gu Yikun was busy; she just asked casually without really expecting an answer, "I saw an outdoor dance party in the plaza downstairs."
Gu Yikun changed her cup with warm water, "We can go take a look after eating."
Yue Xiaoyang soon received Gong Xiaoyu’s camera feed. Unaware, Gong Xiaoyu didn’t know among the numerous cameras at the scene, one was focused entirely on her. Behind that camera, someone was gazing at her every move, deeply and greedily.
After Zhang Miaoyan’s and Xie Yuchen’s interview ended, Zhang Miaoyan called her, "Hungry? Let’s go eat something together?"
Gong Xiaoyu had eaten before coming, "I’m not hungry."
"Then let’s check out the plaza. I heard there’s an outdoor dance party, many people have already gone down."
Yu Zheng returned and handed Gong Xiaoyu two boxes, "I picked these myself, see if you like them."
Gong Xiaoyu was surprised, "Did you just buy these?" She hadn’t expected him to go shopping.
Yu Zheng replied, "Since we’re here, might as well get some souvenirs."
Zhang Miaoyan couldn’t help but shake her head. Yu Zheng was similar to Yuchen; neither were adept at saying romantic things. Is it really that hard to utter a few sweet words when giving a gift?
She decided not to interrupt them, "Yuchen and I will head downstairs first, you both can come later."
Gong Xiaoyu held the box. Women passing by, noticing the He Group logos on the boxes, looked at her hand with envy.
Gong Xiaoyu felt it was too ostentatious, "I’ll look at them later, thank you."
Yu Zheng didn’t force her. He was content as long as she accepted them.
Watching this scene, waves of pain spread in Yue Xiaoyang’s heart, the pain taking root and growing wildly inside him, leaving him unable to find a reason to comfort himself.
He closed the computer and said to Adri, "Push me out for a walk."
Adri knew Doctor Yue was watching the Chinese girl on the screen. Was this his motivation to keep going?
After finishing their meal, Gu Yikun had Secretary Wang accompany An Junxi. She urged him to focus on work, not needing to worry about her.
After Gu Yikun went downstairs, Secretary Wang asked An Junxi, "Don’t you want to check out the outdoor dance party at the plaza?"
An Junxi wasn’t keen, "Yi Ke is busy, I don’t want to disrupt his work."
Secretary Wang pulled her out onto the balcony, "Look how lively it is outside!"
Standing on the balcony, An Junxi watched the changing lights of the plaza, where elegantly dressed gentlemen and ladies danced. Attendants in medieval attire moved through the dance floor, making it feel like stepping into a bygone era.
Stunned, An Junxi said, "It’s like a castle from a fairy tale."
If it snowed in winter, this place would turn into a kingdom of ice and snow.
She really wanted to commend the designer. Any girl standing in such a scene could realize her princess dream. The hotel’s selling point alone was captivating enough.
Secretary Wang said, "There are many places in the resort to explore, each with its own charm during the day and night. Let’s go downstairs."
An Junxi couldn’t imagine the scale of this castle. How much money had the group invested here?
"Such a beautiful place, not appreciating it would be a disservice to oneself. The group certainly spared no expense."
Secretary Wang hinted, "The President placed special importance on this project. Not all investments need to be profitable."
An Junxi didn’t think deeply about it; Yi Ke’s decisions always had his reasons.
She and Secretary Wang went downstairs and ran into He Sirui at the elevator.
Seeing An Junxi, He Sirui said, "Why is Secretary Wang accompanying you, isn’t President Gu available?"
An Junxi sensed the jealousy in her words. Knowing He Sirui hadn’t been able to shine today and was likely filled with resentment, she replied, "Why does Miss He have time to wander around? Aren’t there media interviews?"
An Junxi’s words hit He Sirui’s sore spot. Before He Sirui could retort, An Junxi continued, "There’s a dance party in the plaza. If you don’t have a partner, I can ask Yi Ke to introduce Earl Delai from the United Kingdom to you. Otherwise, being alone might attract unwanted media attention."
"You..." He Sirui had only now realized An Junxi’s sharpness, realizing An Junxi had been feigning ignorance before, finally showing her true colors!
An Junxi didn’t care how He Sirui viewed her—they were destined to be enemies.
Trying hard to remain composed, He Sirui said, "I can find countless men willing to be my dance partner with just one gesture—what about you... do you even know how to dance? What type?"
With a faint smile, An Junxi replied, "Miss He can see for herself later."
"I look forward to it. Hopefully, Mrs. Gu doesn’t disappoint me."
Watching her leave, An Junxi told Secretary Wang, "I don’t really dance well, please cover for me later." Her skills were mediocre, best not to embarrass herself.
Secretary Wang, thinking Mrs. Gu was confident, had assumed she was an expert. Hearing this, he was stunned, "Mrs. Gu doesn’t dance well? Then why were you so calm just now!"
