Seeding Kinks
Chapter 16: Fraternity Part 3.
CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: FRATERNITY PART 3.
The dissociation between the societies in which the 5 youngsters were rised, becomes more apparent with the terminology employed by Evennette.
Ignorance is not what What afflicts the group, if not the lack of technological innovation and cultural development.
Which comes in hand with the primary reason behind why the powerful Zindrack Conglomerate is so invested in create and promote the Intercultural Academies, to even, then elevate the base understanding of every individual on the planet.
But with a world as massive as Dhägna’Hür, global linear progress is blatantly impossible, resulting in the rise and fall of Civilizations without other societies noticing their existence.
Evennette comes from a Hidden City that is technologically far too superior to the overall prowess reached by the Laidders Nation.
Then, the doubt aroses. «Why are this Hidden Cities not ruling the world?».
The answer is straightforward, they don’t occupy Empiric Energy, and engaging in a large scale belic conflict would mean doom for them.
That is why they remain watching from the shadows. Silently trading with those who can serve to preserve their peace and anonymity.
In exchange, Citizens are oftenly relocated, swapped to the Hidden Cities or getting Expelled from them, depending on the Storage Capacity of every person.
This process always breaks families and ruins lifes. But the stake is high, preserving a «Safe» environment with less accidents.
However. The most difficult test of fire to avoid this forced separation, is when the 20 years of age are reached.
Before this Biological limit. A person can only have up to 100 Emen in their Storage Capacity.
But after two decades of life, their potential is unlocked, and someone who had no previous access to Empiric Energy, can suddenly become a threat to society.
Since there is no prior practice on how to control and manipulate Empiric Energy, a strong emotional alteration can provoke a serious accident that takes the lives of innocent Civilians.
An outcome that rarely happens in normal cities, since each person has an Emeneld, and no matter how weak this energetic protection is, it still defends the user from a wide variety of dangers, including a sudden push force emitted from unstable emotions.
"Paper catalogs?". Evennette asks, confused and incredulous of learning that someone would still use such backwards and wasteful method to showcase new products available.
"Can’t you just search for the latest fashion on the web?".
The youngsters look to each other, their thought and expression is the same, not needing words to communicate. «Web?. Does she has a Class that allows her to speak and understand spiders?».
"No. We cannot do that". Reveals Troy, not knowing what to think. Nevertheless, his mind is taken away when Evennette pulls from her jacket a small rectangular device of plastic and glass.
The smartphone’s screen is illuminated, showing a picture of Evennette, smiling and hugging with two ladies, a redhead with lemon green skin. And a cold white haired damsel of porcelain skin, wearing a metal blue mask that combines with her icy blue eyes.
The resolution on the details is very high, the colours are vibrant and vivid, almost better, and more realistic than observing the real female before them.
*Argh!*. "I don’t have connection to the web!, and the battery of my phone is dying". In the corner of the screen, a red 2% is encased in a rectangle with a small additional bump.
"Do any of you have a charger?. When they brought me here. The security guard cut the cable into four pieces. The idiot said i could choke someone to dead. Who does that?!, Right?".
The four are astonished, Evennette suddenly became too talkative. Yet, they only grasp parts of the sentence, because a few words are foreign to them.
Troy gasps, pointing at the smartphone, his smile turning hilariously goofy. "The fate has to be on my side!. N’Ïrk!. She is the one i mention before!. Just look those passionate eyes. I bet her smile is as smoldering as her gaze. Why on Dhägna’Hür is she using a mask?!".
"Do you mean Indayra?". Evennette eyes glow with intensity. "She is a bit cold and distant. But quite well-mannered and polite. I bet she is from a rich lineage, she doesn’t want to use her Family’s Name at all".
Rather than being curious about Indayra real identity. N’Ïrk wins a doubt. "If this two are on your Trinity. Why are you not with them?".
Troy replies. "N’Ïrk, to enter in a Fraternity, it is not needed the whole Trinity. This alienation is solely for the lessons within the Academy’s schedule".
"Good to know...".
"So?". Interjects Evennette. "Are you going to keep stalling?. Or will you show us the way?".
"Right!. Of course, the path!".
Troy blabbers, excited to meet his crush, walking fast, followed by Evennette, and the Trinity of «Lovers» behind her.
Niveilia can’t get over being called N’Ïrk’s girlfriend. Yet, the nickname «Sweet Cheeks», used by Evennette. Has left her with mixed feelings.
The Busty Lady loves sugar, and the sassy voice of Evennette, sounded so pure and truthful, that the naive and docile Niveilia felt the good intention.
For her part, Gagk’Xannia is ogling at her boyfriend, her stare making a petition with a louder intensity than a pitched scream. «Take Her Too».
This puts an amused smirk on N’Ïrk. The woman who is now his Lioness, is really into the idea of having a real Pride, and him can’t see anything wrong with wanting to have more than one partner.
The remote corner of a garden is where the tent with the small labyrinth of leaves is located.
The obstacle seems menial, as the group passes through it with extreme simplicity.
Inside the tent, there is a desk with a female attendant. Several folding chairs are at the sides, people patiently waiting in them.
But no one is daring enough to approach the attendant, having almost no reaction at seeing the group of newcomers.
The plain desk has a few posters with quite specific demands to join the Preppers Fraternity...
