CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39: OLD AND NEW RIVALRIES PART 2.

Being called cannon fodder doesn’t phase Kûrjhainne, that’s exactly what she is, a battle junkie who adores the fray of battle, drawing the spotlight, so the attackers in the rear deal damage from the safety provided by distance.

She grits her teeth and growls with an animalistic wildness, rearing up her steps and hunching slightly.

Her intention is hostile and menacing, drived by the goal of tackle down N’Ïrk, to suppress and immobilize the young man, so Å’Vría has a free shot.

This is a big mistake from Kûrjhainne, which only provokes in N’Ïrk a spiked surge of blazing fury. He is not an innocent naive pushover that anyone can mess with and come out unscratched.

Actually, is the opposite scenario.

Fueled with anger, N’Ïrk responds the assault by walking forward, suddenly dashing with an abrupt upward strike using his right knee, hitting Kûrjhainne on the chin.

Swapping the balance of his foothold, N’Ïrk proceeds with his offensive, launching a straight left kick at the female’s diaphragm, violently and efficiently pushing her back, slamming her against the wall, losing her Emeneld and falling unconscious.

Appalled gasps and widen eyes become the norm in the ladies present in Hát’Thöry’s Office. Kûrjhainne is not weak, but she chose a bad tactic against N’Ïrk.

While the young man appears to be well versed in manipulating Empiric Energy. The reality is distinct. His strongest point in a fight scenario, aside «Ïrk» (Basically a Nuke), is the overwhelming practice and ferocious instincts he possess in hand to hand combat. Because is more reliable, personal and effective against those individuals who have a powerful, resilient Emeneld, to defend themselves.

"You can’t fight on your own?. Retorting to send others on your behalf". A «Pathetic» was interpreted by everyone, but not enunciated by N’Ïrk. "If she weren’t strong, her brain, skull and scalp would be splattered across the ceiling".

The mental picture is terrifying for a few of the ladies, obliviously putting themselves in such hypothetical situation, blindly charging into battle just for them to gruesomely die in the blink of an eye.

N’Ïrk’s intonation wasn’t arrogant, just harsh, mixed with a pang of contempt that stings Å’Vría’s chest with the same condescending vibe her Elder Sister has during their short interactions.

"What happened?. You were wasting your voice in your self-centered delusions. But now you can’t muster a single word, trembling like a lamb. I suppose you won’t be needing your vocal cords anymore".

N’Ïrk’s fingers bend, mimicking curved claws, his gauntlets protecting his forearms while materializing six ethereal blades hovering with aggressive disposition, launched ahead as he lunges with an intimidating ferality that is impossible for his prey to avoid or escape.

His half opened hand tries to reach for Å’Vría’s head. He is determined to disfigure the damsel’s pretty face, and skewer the voluptuous body with the immaterial blades.

Seven triangular barrier appear out of nowhere, their lavender translucent blurry structure intercepts the sharp energetic edges, along stopping the young man’s paw like hand.

Three more barriers develop and extend from each side of the barrier N’Ïrk is in contact with. Getting his hand clasped and caged in a half made ethereal tetrahedron.

"Take your plebeian hands off my Sister".

Demands the Elder Sister of Å’Vría. Æ’Vérrya Vendremier, a beautiful slender female of red skin and graceful facial features.

N’Ïrk ignores the phrase, throwing a punch with his right. The result doesn’t change, his hand is imprisoned.

However, to prevent N’Ïrk from harming Å’Vría, the tetrahedron barriers are «Quantum Locked» in place, which serves as handling supports for the young man, lifting himself and using his feet to trap Å’Vría’s head, twisting the neck with a brutal savagery that explodes the lady’s golden Emeneld, leaving her defenseless against the ruthless choke-hold of N’Ïrk, who only needs to inflict a little bit more of pressure to snap away the female’s life.

Å’Vría is shocked, watching her entire existence flashing before her eyes, deviating her glowing amber irises to have a last memory of her Elder Sister. The examplary role model that is her pride and bane, filling with joy and tears her daily life. Of course, she wouldn’t dare to express her heart aloud, terrified of being seen as a sentimental weakling.

Nevertheless. For the first time, Æ’Vérrya Vendremier feels the possibility of an unbearable loss. She does not show it, neither with words nor with actions, but she adores her brothers and sisters. Å’Vría above all of them.

She is excellent, still, in comparison to Æ’Vérrya, the former falls short, getting constant mistreatment from their parents in the past decade. Until they mysteriously passed away, which gave Æ’Vérrya the right to become the head of an already deplorable failed Family.

*So?. My beloved fiancee. Who will we have the Foursome with?". Norlan’s entrance draws all the stares towards him.

Myrrha’s maturity cracks momentarily with the insinuation of her fiance. "What?!".

"What, «What»?. With the communicator, you give me the signal for a Foursome. Or double Date. Same Difference".

"I did not do that!, and read the goddamn situation «Dumbrlan»!".

"That’s exactly what i did, now everyone is calmer... , Harvester N’Ïrk, don’t kill your new subordinate".

{What?, Isn’t Å’Vría a Harvester?}

"WHAT?!". Æ’Vérrya exclaims with such incomprehension, that her focus is overthrown by the impression, causing her barriers to dissipate.

N’Ïrk falls a few centimeters during less than two seconds, but the freed ethereal blades of the gauntlet fly swiftly bellow him, rest beneath his back, keeping the young man levitating in the air.

{Why am i not getting cut?!}

Glimpsing the blades, it is obvious that their structure has changed, imitating rectangular barriers instead of energy weapons.

{This is more tiring than stabbing with the blades. It’s like having six arms, carrying six arms that are carrying me}

Reluctantly, N’Ïrk frees Å’Vría, making it appear as if he is following Norlan’s order, when in reality, he is deactivating the blade/barriers, due to exhaustion after carrying himself for a few seconds.

Norlan has a mocking grin. "Didn’t you read the Fraternity rules, Æ’Vérrya?. Equal Ranks are subordinated, if there’s an altercation between them, and neither of them is involved in a Sponsorship".

{I have to read this rules too}

"Harvester Å’Vría. Harvester N’Ïrk has spared your life, be more grateful and mindful from now on, of all those present here, only Hát’Thöry and Myself can stand a combat against him. Not even you, Æ’Vérrya, even being a «Foreman» is not enough".

{She is a higher Rank?!}

"I guess i need to change my Rank Title to «Landowner», with 12,500 Storage Capacity, that way there will be no more altercations between the members of this Fraternity. Otherwise. I might have to resort to primitive but effective tactics, like the one used by Harvester N’Ïrk to get rid of Disobedient Troublemakers"...
