CHAPTER 189: CHAPTER 191: HIDING A BEAUTY IN THE HOTEL

It was a familiar dull pain, gradually turning into a cramping pain, like knives slicing her internal organs.

She secretly thought something was wrong, her face pale with cold sweat slipping down, fingers tightly clutching onto Lu Shifeng’s sleeve.

Lu Shifeng lowered his head and noticed her unease: "Xingyu, what’s wrong?"

"I..." Su Xingyu opened her mouth with difficulty, but amidst the crowded bus, she was too embarrassed to speak out, taking a deep breath, she only whispered, "It’s nothing, just... a bit of stomach pain."

"Stomach pain?" Lu Shifeng frowned, "Here?" His hand touched the area of her stomach.

Su Xingyu shook her head and said with difficulty in a small voice, "No... it’s alright, really..."

Yet the pain was so intense her voice turned hoarse.

She knew very well it was her period coming, the monthly pain so familiar beyond words, though it usually wasn’t as intense as this. This time it must be because he had been quite rough with her last night, the pain came fiercely, almost overwhelming her with dizziness. Her body felt weak, leaning against him powerlessly, as bouts of cold sweat emerged.

Lu Shifeng, unaware of her condition, looked tense, holding her steadily, he turned to instruct the driver loudly: "Driver, stop the bus! Someone here is urgently sick and needs to get off!"

"Stopping here isn’t convenient!" The bus driver replied.

"If she dies, are you responsible?" Lu Shifeng’s voice suddenly turned cold and menacing, "If anything bad happens to her, I guarantee you’ll suffer a hundred times more!" If it were anyone else threatening the driver, he might not be afraid, but Lu Shifeng, a person accustomed to authority, naturally carried an aura of determination and threat. When he spoke, the driver felt a chill.

Suddenly, the bus stopped by the roadside.

The back door opened, and Lu Shifeng escorted Su Xingyu off the bus.

He raised his hand to hail a taxi, ready to take her to the hospital, but she weakly pulled him back, "No need... You, you help me find a supermarket, I need to buy something, and then just find a restroom and that’s enough."

Lu Shifeng looked at her disapprovingly: "If you’re sick, you should go to the hospital."

"This isn’t an illness," Su Xingyu’s face burnt, "Lu Shifeng, listen to me."

He looked at her puzzled: "If it’s not an illness, what is it?"

Although married to her, he had never known girls might experience pain during menstruation. Until now, she had hidden her discomfort well from him. Her face turned even redder, awkward and embarrassed, fearing he might actually take her to the emergency room — wouldn’t that be even more humiliating? She finally whispered, "It’s just... just a little discomfort. Can you... you find me a supermarket, I... I need to buy some sanitary pads."

The last three words were so quiet, barely louder than a mosquito’s buzz.

This time Lu Shifeng finally understood, yet still frowned: "How can it be so painful, let’s go to the hospital just in case."

"Really, it’s nothing!" She was on the verge of tears, "Lu Shifeng, please, I’m begging you, okay? Just do as I ask and stop asking questions! It’s normal to have stomach cramps during periods, don’t make a fuss!"

Looking at her tearful appearance, he begrudgingly believed it’s "normal," spotting a budget hotel by the roadside, he directly helped her into it and booked a room. The conditions of the budget hotel were not ideal; even the most expensive suite felt cramped and rudimentary, the bedding carried an indescribable strange smell, but there was no room for pickiness now.

He settled her onto the bed, poured a cup of hot water and fed her.

She still felt intense pain, her face pale, her beautiful lips devoid of color.

Lu Shifeng asked her: "I’ll find someone to buy the sanitary pads right away, is there anything else you need?" He had never cared for a woman in his life, especially one suffering from menstrual pain, completely clueless on how to start.

Su Xingyu was in agony, as if someone were slicing knives into her abdomen, she struggled to maintain consciousness to tell him: "Heat... heat pads... ginger... red sugar..."

Then her body curled into a small ball, unable to speak from the pain.

Lu Shifeng glanced at her trembling slightly on the bed, turned decisively and called the reception. The receptionist was initially unwilling, but after he offered a large tip, they eagerly agreed, delivering sanitary pads and red sugar water speedily.

He fed her the red sugar water, took her to the suite’s bathroom.

He placed her on the toilet, reached to remove her dress, but she tremblingly held his hand: "Don’t... I can do it myself."

He cast her a glance: "You’re in so much pain, why pretend to be strong?"

"Please don’t!" She was anxious, how could she let him do such a shameful thing? "Dirty," she said, her face flushed with embarrassment.

He lowered her skirt’s hem, hugged her half, carefully removing her white underwear, stained with dark red spots, even dirtying his hand. But he didn’t mind: "What haven’t I seen of you?"

"You...!" Her face turned even redder, she wished she could dig a hole and disappear, unsure whether from embarrassment or something else.

Her legs felt weak, under his care, she changed into clean underwear and sanitary pads, and he carried her back to the bed. "Rest for a while," he poured another cup of red sugar water, "I’ll be here, tell me if you feel uncomfortable."

Her lower abdomen still hurt terribly, however, upon hearing his voice, inexplicably she felt at ease.

She nodded slightly and soon drowsily fell asleep.

This sleep, she had no idea how long it lasted, waking up with her lower abdomen still slightly aching, but not as intensely as before.

Lu Shifeng was not beside her, it was a suite, she guessed he might be in the outer room. She struggled to sit up from the bed, roughly tidying up her dress, opened the door wanting to find him outside.

He indeed was in the outer room.

However, he wasn’t alone.

He sat in a suit on the sofa by the window, opposite him sat two middle-aged men in suits as well, with neatly placed quality briefcases by their side, engaged in discussion.

Upon hearing the movement, the three men turned their heads.

Su Xingyu hadn’t expected such a scene, feeling somewhat awkward, "Sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you."

"Feeling better?" Lu Shifeng’s expression barely changed, asked plainly.

"Much, much better." She replied.

"Go rest a bit more," Lu Shifeng said, "I still have some business to finish here, once done, we’ll check out at noon and go eat."

Seeing he was apparently discussing business, Su Xingyu nodded compliantly and retreated back to the inner room. Meanwhile, the two middle-aged men on the sofa wore expressions of bewilderment, my god, what did they just witness, Mr. Lu has a woman hidden in the hotel suite?!

Early in the morning, then go rest more...

This situation was too prone to imagination.
