Chapter 232: Give him a title Chapter 232: Give him a title “So, what dance would you like to see me perform?” Wen Zhi suddenly asked him very seriously.

Shang Hexing countered her question with one of his own, “What dances can you perform?”

Wen Zhi, placing a hand under her chin, replied, “I can… I learned classical dance before, but I’m not very good at it.”

When she mentioned classical dance, Shang Hexing’s expression changed and with a smile tugging at his lips, he said, “You shouldn’t underestimate yourself. Being able to dance is already quite impressive.”

Wen Zhi had to concede to his comforting words, “Hearing you say that boosts my confidence a lot.”

Shang Hexing encouraged her, “Why not give it a try?”

“Sure.”

If trying was what it took, then she would try.

Wen Zhi, without any hesitation, got ready to show her skills.

However, it had been a long time since she had danced; it wasn’t unfamiliar, but her limbs were still somewhat stiff. Thankfully, her former skill and solid foundation helped, and as she found her familiar rhythm, her movements became more natural and skillful, every motion carried beauty.

The dance she performed was “Han Palace Autumn Moon,” which mainly utilized delicate hand gestures and steps to depict the grace and dignity of a court lady. Despite having bandages on her hands, Wen Zhi balanced her gestures well, never appearing awkward.

Shang Hexing watched intently every frame of Wen Zhi’s dance, from her hands to her waist, from her waist to her legs, from her legs down to her ankles, capturing the fleeting beauty as she lifted her legs…

The beauty was indeed real.

And he was indeed going crazy!

He had been to dinner parties with colleagues where some clever people arranged for dance performances to liven up the atmosphere. Those women, either in sheer fabrics or scant skirts, twisted their bodies in extremely seductive dances.

They called it a cultured hobby, but to him, it was nothing but vulgarity.

He had always disdained them, yet understood the principle that what exists is rational, restraining himself without interfering in others’ preferences.

But at that moment, he suddenly realized that it wasn’t the dance he disliked, but that the person dancing in front of him wasn’t Wen Zhi.

What he wanted to see was Wen Zhi dancing for him.

Her every frown and smile was full of spirit, completely captivating him, filling his mind with the most primal thoughts and impulses, to devour her.

The look in his eyes changed, the dark hue in his pupils deepening as if ink had spilled into them.

Wen Zhi had danced for less than three minutes when she suddenly stopped—not because she forgot the movements, but because Shang Hexing’s gaze made her legs weak.

Seeing her stop, Shang Hexing asked her in a hoarse voice, “Forgot how to dance?”

Wen Zhi swallowed, instinctively wanting to flee, but her gaze fell on his bound hands and she sighed in relief.

Although the ties could be untied, if the hands were bound, it was impossible to do it oneself.

Unless he broke the ties.

But obviously, that would hurt his hands.

However, the man was Shang Hexing; he was capable of anything. Wen Zhi pointed at him, “You are not allowed to break free!”

Shang Hexing, with his hands still tied together, showed no signs of movement, noticing the panic in Wen Zhi’s eyes, he chuckled, “Scared?”

Wen Zhi choked up, “I, what am I scared of, I’m worried about you.”

Shang Hexing, raising an eyebrow, meaningfully replied, “Thanks for your concern.”

His simple thanks sent shivers down Wen Zhi’s spine.

She swallowed several times, slowly backing away.

At that moment, Shang Hexing asked, “Not going to continue dancing?”

“I forgot the next steps, I need to think about it,” Wen Zhi said, then turned and left.

Shang Hexing called out to her, “Don’t go.”

“I’ll be back soon,” her voice floated back as she stepped out of the room.

After speaking so much, her throat was dry and parched.

She hurried downstairs to pour herself a glass of water and stood in the living room, drinking it slowly.

As she turned around after finishing her drink, she was startled by Su Tong, who had appeared silently behind her.

Her hand loosened, and the cup fell straight down.

Su Tong was quick to catch it, “Miss, how can you not even hold onto a cup of water?”

The tone sounded mocking no matter how one heard it.

Wen Zhi, instead of getting angry, laughed, “Because I wanted to smash it on the floor and have you clean it up, seeing as you are my servant.”

Su Tong asked, “Miss, do you not regard servants as people?”

Wen Zhi threw back, “That’s an exaggeration, I’m not like this with other servants. Sometimes you should look more at yourself.”

After Wen Zhi finished speaking, Su Tong’s face turned pale, clearly angered.

Yet, Wen Zhi enjoyed seeing Su Tong’s gritted teeth. Especially now that Wen Yiwan wasn’t there, Su Tong had to tread more carefully around her, and Wen Zhi found it very satisfying!

She turned around, ready to go upstairs.

Behind her, Su Tong’s sarcastic voice followed, “Not only are you not married, you don’t even have a proper relationship and dare to bring a man into the house, dressing all flamboyantly. For a young lady’s family, you show no shame, spoiling the family’s reputation.”

Wen Zhi paused in her steps.

She turned her head back to look at Su Tong, “Say that again?”

Su Tong laughed mockingly, “Miss, I meant no offense. I’m just trying to warn you. You might not care about your reputation, but the Wen Family does.”

Wen Zhi sneered, “Since when did the Wen Family have a reputation?”

Su Tong wanted to say more, but Wen Zhi warned her before she could speak, “Keep being sarcastic, and I’ll tear your mouth.”

Su Tong, frightened, touched her mouth. Without the madam at home, she wasn’t as brave. She was somewhat afraid of Wen Zhi.

She didn’t dare contradict directly, but instead twisted her expression to accuse, “Miss, acting like this really isn’t ladylike at all!”

Wen Zhi sneered, “That makes it easier for me to teach you a lesson, doesn’t it?”

Su Tong shut her mouth.

“Furthermore,” Wen Zhi added, “I’m not married to Shang Hexing, but we are indeed in a proper boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Don’t be bitter because your hormones are imbalanced and you can’t stand seeing others in pairs! Keep gossiping in front of me, and I’ll fire you on the spot.”

With that dominant statement, Wen Zhi went upstairs.

Rather than saying she was angry now, it was more accurate that Su Tong’s words had reminded her. She realized she truly couldn’t keep this undefined relationship with Shang Hexing!

She needed to give him a status!

She returned to the door of her upstairs bedroom.

Wen Zhi pushed the door open and entered, then stood frozen.

Why was the room pitch black?

She remembered she had not turned off the light when she came out.

It’s a mess!

By the time Wen Zhi realized what was happening, it was too late; the door suddenly closed behind her.

In the darkness, senses tend to be heightened first, and she heard footsteps approaching her, getting closer.

“Shang Hex…”

Before she could finish the name, Wen Zhi was pushed against the wall behind her, her chin nearly violently seized, enduring his overwhelming, almost crazed kisses.

It’s over!

This was the only thought in Wen Zhi’s mind at that moment.

She was done for!

“Shang Hexing, listen to me, listen to me!” grabbing a breath, Wen Zhi tightly clutched his arm, her nails nearly digging into his skin.

Shang Hexing gave her a moment’s respite, “What else do you want to say?”

Wen Zhi incredulously asked, “How did you manage to break the tie?”
